My Li has repaired numerous laptop desktop computers for my family. I would highly recommend his services.

They contacted me back the next day and advised my ps5 was repaired and everything seemed to be fine. I picked my console up and when I took it home, it didn't even power on when I hooked it back up. I immediately called them and went back the same day. They stated they would look into it and see what's going on. They later gave me a call and said the device is still not powering on. I was advised by a manager by the name Justin that they didn't have the "necessary equipment" to figure out the problem. I ended up picking up my device and taking it to another repair company. The tech from the other company informed that whoever worked on my ps5 previously used too much Liquid Metal which leaked into my motherboard causing the system to malfunction. I also have photos taken from the tech as proof. At this point I am owed another ps5 from UBreakiFix. Justin told me to bring the device back to him to look at it again. I didn't hear an update from him as it has been nearly a week, so called them and Justin went on PTO without giving an update. He also got his higher up Monique involved but I was never contacted by her personally. I had to call and speak with another manager who finally gave me a device replacement almost a month later. Overall customer service and communication was terrible.

I frequent the plaza where iComputers is located but never had an immediate need. However, I had the question about what was on my phone (even though I did not see a sign that indicated that he works on IPhones). The owner was FANTASTIC. He answered all of my questions and made a couple of suggestions (one that I have already started using). He was patient and genuinely cared. And EXTREMELY knowledgeable. In these crazy times, it is so important to know that the person whose help that you're requesting is going to help. This man not only helped, but gave me suggestions that were so welcome. If you need assistance with your electronics, give iComputer a call, email or smoke signals!! He knows his stuff. He is very nice and interested in you, your problem and how he could help. It so important to support our local businesses (there's a new Smokin Buns & of course, El Agave if you are hungry).

Such was the case for me, when my trusty Dell XPS-420's mother board decided to fly south after 15 years of great service. In some ways, it's was like losing a trusted family member. After doing some research on local computer repair shops, I decided to take my PC to Ray at IComputers in nearby Belleville, mostly on the recommendation of coworker of mine. She said her cousins go there all time, and the Ray the owner is honest and straight-forward. This is reassuring, since computer repair can be very similar to taking your automobile in for service. You never know if a simple problem with Windows 10 is going to cost you an arm and a leg, and believe me when I say this, there's lots of "shysters" out there looking to make a quick buck in this profession. Fortunately, this business is not one of them. Thankfully, Ray has many years of experience in the computer world, and will analyze your needs. He always come up with a viable solution for you, whether it's from repairing your PC, or doing a custom build from scratch. No matter what your needs are from being a Web surfer, to a high-end gamer needed a liquid cooled system, IComputers can build it for you, using the highest-grade, long-life components available.

Next time I need a repair, I'll have to try somewhere else because this place is CRAZY expensive. I paid $150 just for them to figure out what the solution was. That fee is not applied to what you pay for the actual repair should you decide to have them fix it like it would at a car repair place; it's just $150 to have them tell you what's wrong. They then quoted me $250 to reinstall windows and fix a broken hinge. I was iffy but said yes partially due to the sunken cost of the diagnosis and mostly because they promised me they would be able to upgrade my laptop to Windows 11, which the laptop had been telling me was not possible. So this seemed somewhat worth it to me to have them do. I went to pick up the fixed laptop, and immediately noticed that they had to drill totally new screw holes into it to install the new hinge. It looks pretty bad, but I'm really not picky about aesthetics so I let it go. But then they started it up to show me it was working, and I cannot even explain how INCREDIBLY slow it was as they tried to use it. Like, Windows 98 was faster than this thing was running, and I had previously never had any speed issues with it. I said something along the lines of how disappointed I was that I had now spent $400 and honestly couldn't even realistically use the laptop anymore. They offered to just install Windows 10 again instead, but like I said, the main reason I decided to pay all that money was because they assured me they could upgrade it to Windows 11. So they ended up refunding me for the repairs (I'm still out the diagnosis fee) and wiped the laptop and gave it back to me. After going home and doing some research on my own, I was able to reinstall Windows 10 on my own in about a half hour for $10. I cannot believe they were going to charge me almost $200 to do that!!! My laptop is now working exactly as it did before, and I learned my lesson.

Then, while gaming, my game crashed and the computer stopped responding, prompting me to force shutdown the computer. Post crash, the game was underperforming. I tried everything software-related, from verifying the integrity of the game files to clean reinstalling Windows (three separate times, mind you), but to no avail. At this point,  I'm thinking it must be hardware related, hence why I took it to the repair shop. I explained my situation to the repair shop and they took it from there. After some time, they contacted me saying that the both the graphics card and SSD (due to being at "65% health") are responsible for the horrendous performance. I went ahead and replaced said components, only to be greeted with the same horrible performance post-crash. So, I called the repair shop and they responded by saying I only "partially followed" their advice as they recommended I get a RTX 5070 instead of the RX 9070 I originally had; their argument was that the RTX 5070 is the superior card of the two and didn't have as many driver issues as AMD cards. According to them, had I gotten an RTX 5070, the PC would have been running perfectly fine like its former self. But that didn't make any sense as the PC was running fine with an RX 9070 before the crash. When I brought this point up, they started talking about how there could be problems with PCIE bifurcation, something that didn't make sense at all in explaining my horrible performance.  I decided to take it to another repair shop. The repair guy over there suspected it was the motherboard. I replaced the motherboard and lo and behold, the PC was running perfectly fine, WITH the RX 9070 card that Quick Teks claimed should have been switched out for an RTX 5070 due to "PCIE bifurcation issues." I later called Quick Teks about this and they were still adamant about the situation, stating that they had mentioned PCIE bifurcation being a potential problem in their diagnosis (which isn't true as they mentioned the PCIE issues AFTER I replaced the parts and called them about the PC still having horrible performance; never was it mentioned in their diagnosis). To top it all off, Quick Teks abruptly hung up on me and sent me a text saying, "Thank you for your business. But i'm well aware of what was wrong, and what was stated previously." Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable service.
