    Corn flake donut
    Cal L.

Man...Thomas beat me to the first review. I am glad this place opened up in Newton Centre. On one of the side streets away from the hustle and bustle. Service was great. The cashier was friendly and answered all of my silly questions. It's awesome that the downtown area has three donut options. Dunkin, Blackbird, and Pon De Joy. These donuts are true to the Japanese style of mochi donuts. There are twelve flavors and they lean a bit toward the sweeter end. They are slightly bigger than the ones you would get in Asia at Mr. Donut and have eight pieces to each "ring." I love the creativity - taro, strawberry, corn flakes. Salted caramel. Powdered sugar. I wish they had an original glazed. I purchased a dozen for my colleagues tomorrow. Will be back.

    Delicious mochi donuts on display

Yuuuuuummmmmm! This is my first mochi donut and wow it's delicious! I went with maple bacon, cause bacon, and it is delicious. But even if this was a plain donut I'd feel the same way. The dough is the best part, it's so fluffy and fresh, packed with flavor. I was walking around Newton and happened to see this place was opened and popped in. I was greeted warmly and I asked for some flavor recommendations being a new to mochi donuts. He gave a few recommendations and I landed on maple bacon. So glad this place opened up off the square, easy to get to but away from the hustle and bustle a bit. The store is light and bright just like the donuts. I'll be back for more...maybe as soon as today haha!

Mochi donuts from top left to bottom right: mango, taro, cornflakes, black sesame, and milk tea!

Love this small spot. Probably my fave bubble tea around. Mochi donuts are sweet and just the right texture.

Chewy, delicious heaven. A taste of Asian baked goods right here in Boston. Donuts are soft, fluffy and chewy.

One of the best hot chocolates I've had in the area (not too sweet either) and great tasting mochi donuts.

I ran into someone from my church right outside Linda's and he asked me where the best donuts were…read morein the Boston area. I told him, "We're standing right outside it, it's Linda's." He thought I was joking. I was definitely not. I LOVE Linda's. The donuts are fresh and divine, but the people are the reason I keep going back. So imma tell you a story about why I will defend their honor til the day I die. One time I ordered a donut and a coffee and sat down to eat. A few minutes later, one of the employees walked over holding another donut. I said, "Oh, thank you, but I'm good." He just smiled and said, "It's fresh, it just came out." I took it. It was out of this world amazing. I've made donuts at home before, and fresh donuts really _are_ different. Warm, soft, and just about the best donut I've ever had. Here's another story: some other time, I wasn't thinking. I bought a dozen donuts for my coworkers and was gonna bring it to work, but I was on my bike that day and realized there was absolutely no way the box was fitting into my panniers. I went back in and asked if they happened to have a bag big enough to hold the box. They disappeared into the back and came out with their reusable Linda's Donuts bags. I suspected there weren't so many of them. I asked if I could pay for it. They wouldn't let me. I still have that bag and use it all the time, and every time someone asks me about the bag, I tell them this story. That, my friends, is how I became a Linda's Donuts evangelist. Re: ambiance, it's super low key. There are only four or five tables, and I've definitely sat there with friends over coffee and donuts. It's not trying to be trendy. It's just a neighborhood donut shop, and that's exactly why I like it. I've seen people complain that Linda's runs out of donuts. FOLKS, they're a neighborhood mom-and-pop shop. They make a finite number of fresh donuts every day. Personally, I'd rather they sell out than have donuts sitting around all afternoon. If you want the best selection, get there earlier. Maybe Kane's or Union Square Donuts are objectively better and have more variety, and fancier flavors like maple-glazed bacon doughnuts. I admit, those donuts are damn good too, but when I think of getting donuts, I always make the trip to Linda's for all the warm-fuzzies and to see all the smiling, kind people behind the counter.

They constantly run out of donuts at all times of the day. You never know when they're gonna be open and on top of that, they say one price and do another there's times where a donuts two dollars or 250 or three dollars every time I've been rung up it's been a different price.

Eggs exceptionally fluffy, bacon crispy, French toast scrumptious and the sandwich was flavorful with those same fluffy eggs and savory ham. All in all a very worthwhile experience. Please keep in mind that this feedback is coming from a basic white woman born and raised in New England. That's saying something. Additionally, the texture of the pancakes was dense and mushy, and there was none of the buttermilk flavor advertised on the menu. I am sure that the donuts are wonderful and they look like a ton of fun; however, for a regular brunch experience, I would go somewhere else.
