Jason is lazy and unprofessional. Instead of showing up weekly on a fixed day, he would show up on random days sometimes after 2 weeks. With no communication. He wouldn't test my water or maintain correct chemical levels so it was always full of yellow algae. I tested the water at a pool store and the employee was practically laughing at the test results. I fired him and I take care of my pool myself. No more algae and the water is always crystal clear. read more

There is no chance in the world I would recommend this Pool Service person to anyone !!!! I Met Jason and he gave me a reasonable price to do weekly pool service after he inspected the property. He seemed knowledgeable and his price was reasonable with other pool service quotes so I hired him. He serviced our pool a couple of weeks and then he had an "Emergency" and had to skip our service date and would service us 3 days later than normal. I said, No problem. He arrived after 10 days from his last pool service and sent me a text where he Complained about leaves in the pool. Really? It's the end of October, almost November (10/30/21) and a pool man complains about leaves? His exact message: "I'm doing the best I can with your pool but with every slightest breeze thousands of leaves are blowing in your pool it's a landscaping issue that needs to be corrected" Followed by a picture and a 2nd text: "I mean these potted plants that are next to the edge of the pool need to be trimmed back or  removed or I'm gonna have to discontinue service and you'll have to find somebody else because I cannot keep up with the wind blowing these leaves in the pool I've cleaned the top of your pool four times now in this one visit Because the slightest freeze just blows all those leaves on the deck into the pool" Below is a picture he sent me. These are small Wisteria plants in pots with small leaves that fall once a year in about 5-7 days. Not sure what he is use to servicing but leaves do Fall in the Fall in So Cal and he did also inspect the property. Worst of all he goes over to the Wisteria and rips a branch off the plant and throws it on the ground next to the pool and leaves it there (and sends me a picture of the pot and the torn branch) . Fortunately the Video Cameras show him doing exactly that. Was good while it lasted. After a few years of working out fine, things started to noticeably go downhill. Service was so bad at one of my pools that the tenants decided to service it themselves because of all of the ongoing issues with him. He then kept letting another pool go green because he was trying to force me to cut down some spruce trees and another huge tree. I cut down the huge tree at his request of $2500. He was not too happy when I didn't cut the spruce trees down and after 2 months or so, he completely stopped servicing the pool while still getting paid. Regardless, I would absolutely steer clear of him as he will eventually turn on you and use all sorts of racial slurs in the process. I posted the screenshots and yelp had to take them down because there was too many racial slurs lol. read more

Please be aware of this needy pool man. He serviced my pool but was always Sending me personal texts and emails and asking For advanced payments. I terminated services and paid his final invoices but he continued to service my pool and bill without authorization. When I asked him why he continued to service after we parted ways he told me he still came and I owed him and if I did not pay his second final bill of $60 he would put a Lein on my house and he "enjoyed putting leins" on his clients homes. Jason started off doing good, then I started noticing him billing me weeks before the month was even completed. I told him when the month was finished I'd pay my bill. I've Never been late on a payment nor would I pay for his services before he'd completed them. Then each bill would go up saying the pool needs phosphate or filter is the wrong size for my pool. He started doing services without telling me then would charge me (if they were even done) When I let him know how I felt he quickly goes in attack mode. Saying I use my pool for a dog bath and that my broke ass can't pay for his services. As well as calling me white trash and that my salon is horrible. Within minutes of the texting I get a bad review on my salon from someone I have never seen or met. Just like the prior review, he'd also put a lein on my house for $65 because the clerks at the courthouse love him. He definitely has financial issues as well as poor business etiquette. After Googling him I'm glad I made the right choice to let him go. I wouldn't want him near my home or child. And he calls me White Trash?!?! Sheeesh! You REALLY don't want to go there. And watch what his response to this will be. Nothing about the pool service. Just like his others I guarantee it! As home owners we try very hard to stay committed to doing what needs to be done to maintain the integrity of our home and neighborhood. Building a "willing", "qualified" team to take on a demanding property like that of ours is far harder than one can fathom. Unfortunately, it took us years to find Jason. The idea of someone like him was out there...and man...If I had just explored a few more options sooner rather than stay loyal (like most our neighbors) to "mediocre" pool cleaners. Once I decided to call on a new service and ask for an estimate on a repair....well its one of the best things that could have ever happened to us. I am very happy with Jason's Service over the past 6 months. I originally hired Jason to trouble shoot a new heater I had installed and could not get running. He was familiar with the heater and had no problem finding the complication, and fixing it in a timely manner and for reasonable price. Later he fixed some electrical in the cabana, unrelated to the pool, which was convenient and appreciated, again, in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. My favorite aspects of Jason's Service are: 1.) Everyday I come home from work my pool looks perfect, great, sparkling clean 2.) Jason is friendly, kind and professional; he always has a smile and positive attitude 3.) There are no surprises or problems 4.) Special requests don't upset him, like changing the times for lights, filters and waterfalls - or questions 5.) I am confident that if I need something else done, and he says yes, it will be done when he says it will be done and at a reasonable price. 6.) Doesn't stand around and talk. 7.) online payments Of course during the wind in the fall - while ALL OF THE LEAVES are coming off all of the trees, I net my pool also... I had to go through several pool people before finding Jason. He really is as good as it gets. He's at my home like clockwork weekly for pool maintenance. I've had several small issues leftover from the installer over the years that he takes care of, sometimes he'll come out the same day. Electrical, mechanical, everything. He's a pool wizard. He buys all my supplies like extra salt, parts, etc. so I don't have to track anything down. Jason is unreasonably affordable. His monthly maintenance fee and labor fees for extra work are less than any of the other pool idiots I went through. The online billing is a big plus too. Also, he's a normal, friendly guy. Contacted Jason and a number of other Services on Thursday May 15. Pool Service by Jason was the first to call me back same day and we set up a time to meet the next day (Friday) at my house. He came out gave me a quote and we agreed upon weekly service. He said he would start on the 23rd. Late afternoon on the 23rd I received a text from Jason saying that the week has been a little nuts and if it would be OK to come on Saturday. I said Saturday was fine and appreciated him letting me know. Saturday at 5 pm I text him to see if he was still coming out to clean my pool. He said he was stuck in traffic but trying to. Never heard from him again. I have called and text him a number of times. But he has not responded. I can not say if his actual service is good or not, but very unprofessional in dealing with clients. Be careful!! read more

Really? He came by to give us an estimate, service was agreed on. He was supposed to come that Friday. ..no call, no show. He showed up on Saturday. Never vacuumed the pool. The same leaves were still sitting at the bottom of my pool. Didn't even call him out on that. Waited for him the next Friday. No call, no show. Never returned my phone calls. Finally responded after I texted him the next day with a text. He doesn't want to service my pool. " I am too busy to call right now I do not want to service your pool please find someone else. Sorry. " Not a phone call or return phone call! When was he going to let me know??? No reason, no communication. His lack of professionalism is impressive. Check out all the 1 star reviews. We originally hired Jason to pebble tech our pool and spa and complete some repairs. We were so impressed by his knowledge, professionalism and responsiveness that we hired him to do our regular maintenance. He always arrives as scheduled and communicates everything whenever there may be a change in service due to holidays etc. Our pool is always taken care of and he's always pleasant and polite. Jason is by far the best pool tech we have ever had. We went through 3 services (one which was very highly rated on Yelp) and struggled with a reoccurring algae problem. As soon as we hired Jason he cleared out the filter and the pool has been beautiful and spotless ever since. The difference in service and performance has been striking. After agreeing on pricing and service days, Jason did a good job when he came. Often he came the next day, after we called to let him know the pool needed attention. We always paid him on time. All of a sudden with no warning he just disappeared. We left messages and hoped he was ok. Finally after 5 days and a green pool he left us an email stating that he could no longer service our pool. We immediately hired a different company and gladly agreed to a higher amount for service. I recently started using Jason's pool service. Before he came out, my pool had green algae and was impossible to keep clean. One day after the first service, my pool was sparkling and a week later it is still sparkling! He made a few tweaks to my filter and pump and got my chemicals right. He promptly returned my call (unlike the other 5 pool guys I called) and within a very short time frame had fixed my filter. He was very professional and his pricing was extremely reasonable. First met Jason 2 years ago through a high recommendation from friends who had recently had their pool redone. Jason came out, gave us a very fair bid and excellent timeline. We kept adding to the project and Jason was more than accommodating through the whole process, even stuck to his original timeline and created a temporary fence to protect our new coping from our very active puppy. The pool came out amazing, not one complaint. Fast forward to two years later - new house; new pool. Our original weekly pool guy was a little overwhelmed with all the new pool equipment and tried raising his price quite significantly. We tried using a pool service company but really wanted that personal feel. So after scrolling through my contacts, I came across Jason's number and asked if he did weekly service... thankful he did! He has been awesome; he comes every week as scheduled. If there are any problems, I can text him and there is a fix within the week. He even helped us save quite a bit by using our equipment's warranty and getting a free replacement part. Would recommend his service to anyone. read more

First I thought Jason was a nice guy but I was wrong, he is unprofessional he doesn't care about clients telephone calls he was supposed to fix the problem on my pool motor cap but instead he put a silicon all over the O ring. I started using Jason's pool service this Sept. MY pool looked almost perfect, had a tiny drop of discoloration starting on one wall as the pool guy I had was flaky and not showing up regularly. He cleaned the filter, threw in some of my own chlorine tablets poured some other chemicals & charged me an additional 65.00 plus cost of chemicals for that first time he was there, this was on top of the 85.00 monthly fee he quoted me due to the tree's that need trimming . He said it would be 75.00 a month with tree's cut back. I got the bill the same day I met him and paid it in full with a email asking him to inform me of any additional charges before doing procedure to incur that cost in the future. 3rd week the pool was not looking so good,wasn't sure if he showed up or not. By Tuesday of the 4th week it was looking pretty bad & he was due that Thursday at which time he texted me late in the afternoon, on his day he was to come clean the pool that he couldn't make it but would show up the next day Friday. I said O.k. but come tomorrow for sure as pool is looking really, really bad , he blamed it on the wind. Friday came & went, Saturday, Sunday no call no service, by Monday morning my pool was starting to look like a swamp. I called, no answer, I texted, no reply. I again texted & called still no reply. I then texted asking if he was going to show up or not & if I needed to get someone else as my pool was looking really bad. He replied saying"you calling & texting me a bunch of times isn't going to make me reply to you any faster. I was going to come do your pool now, but I'm now going to lunch instead." I wrote him back, apologizing & explaining I was stressing out as pools go south so fast & are expensive to bring back once they're at that point. He didn't reply. He went there after lunch & texted me saying "your tree is your problem, you're going to have to find someone else". I told him this was crazy, he couldn't just treat people like this, I went over how he not only saw the trees but the deal he made was based on them being overgrown and that I have full documentation of all our emails and text messages that confirms everything. I again asked him to please come fix the problem his negligence created as someone else would now charge me way more money now, due to the condition is was in and told him I would stop my credit card charge if he didn't, still no reply. I got a new person after not having use of the pool for over a week in weather that was over 90 degrees every almost every day, paid more to bring it back to normal & I stopped my charge just like I told him I would. That got his attention, he finally called me, now threatening to put a lien on my house. I yelled at him telling him I have all my paperwork in order to prove my case & he cannot do this to people and just get away with & that I was calling my lawyer! My new pool company sent out a very nice clean ut guy, super [professional and when I told him what happened and why the pool looked so horrible he told me he's heard of Jason's pool service & that what he heard was he's known to go to other pool companies yelp accounts & he writes bad reviews! Crazy!! So wish I would have checked him out in yelp 1st. Big lesson for me. All these bad reviews are here for a good reason. read more

He is the ONLY person who can maintain my pool. Our pool is large, very deep on one end, and flat/shallow on the other. I had 5 different pool services in 5 years; no one could keep it nice all year long....until Jason! He came out when it was a complete mess and has all figured it out, and keeps it looking beautiful. My neighbors and friends always remark how nice it looks NOW! He always informs me when things need to change; he has online billing as well which is nice. He is always super polite, professional, and friendly; even my dog loves him. He has kept it very nice for about 2.5 years now. I read these other reviews and they must not be talking about Jason Broswell's company; can't imagine him being rude, condescending, racist or cheating people. He is just not like that. As far as pool maintenance companies go Pools by Jason was a great find. We have had 3 companies maintain our pool over the course of the last 4 years. Never knowing when they were going to arrive or how thorough they were going to be that week. I'm not a chemist and while I understand the basics of PH balancing water once we converted our pool to saltwater I was overwhelmed. In the past 2 1/2 months Jason has been servicing our pool I have learned more about equipment and pool chemistry than the previous 4. Jason is dependable, regular, thorough and communicates with me more than my daughters. His knowledge of pool equipment, pool chemistry and mechanics is superior. He has advised us on several occasions regarding equipment modifications that could void our warranties and has replaced components our dog destroyed. He returns calls and texts promptly, you can pay him online. He's a really nice guy too. I highly recommend Jason and Pools by Jason for pool service!!! read more
