Pumpkin Tempura
Matthew C.

Thai food continues to be my go-to choice for Asian food in Portland, and this place didn't disappoint either. I tried the pumpkin curry, which was very rich in taste and had a nice blend of sweet and savory flavors. The 3/5 spice level offered the right amount of heat combined with the pumpkin curry flavor. This is a food truck, and they have nowhere to sit but we walked to a nearby food cart park ~2 min away with seating and ate there. Also the pumpkin tempura was decent as well as the pad see ew.

I overheard someone order a Thai iced coffee so I tried one and loved it. I always get Thai iced tea, but I'm glad I tried something new. You can do it too!

Wow let me tell you I'm embarrassed to say the number of times I've drove 25 minutes just to get the coffee here because I love it THAT much. My partner loves the Thai tea as well. Super close to PSU so a great stop between classes or if you're just downtown for the day. I can't wait to try the food as well. The staff is always very friendly as well! It's a food cart so just be prepared if it's a cold day and there's not necessarily a place to sit down but the appearance is clean and decorated well.

Crispy chicken cashew mango

Had some really good lunch at this cart the other day. They have a wide variety of dishes but when I saw cashew and mango together I was like, oh hell yeah. The prices are great and service was fast. Will definitely return to explore more of the menu.

Easily one of the best food carts that's surrounds PSU. They make most of the food to order and use freshly cute fruit and vegetables on most of their food. Crispy garlic chicken is my go-to, it's very good and everything is around 10-12 dollars which is well priced for the quality and quantity you get. The owners/operators are Asian, so there's some authenticity to the food.

Wow! Big serving of Mango Tofu fried rice! With free Thai Ice Tea

I thought this was a pretty decent food truck . The lady was very pleasant. She was able to modify the dishes depending on certain diet restrictions (i.e no egg, no added salt, no added sauce, etc. big portions of the mango fried rice. I got a free thai iced tea drink upon check-in. Will def check out other items on the menu!

Asian Pumpkin Curry with Tofu

A tasty little Thai food cart located right next to PSU that serves up some delicious curries! They're only open during the daytime, so probably best for lunch hours. For the price of the food and also the great taste, value really is unbeatable. The folks who run it are very sweet and we got our food super quickly. I was able to enjoy it during the lunch hour with plenty of time to spare. I got the Pumpkin Curry with Tofu which was SO. GOOD. The rich curry itself falls somewhere between the classic Thai red and panang curries (not too spicy or sweet like the latter, but the levels for spice can be adjusted) -- it's super tasty and even came with jasmine rice! It has lots of veggies and tofu in it. I thought the pumpkin was super unique as well, and would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it before. You can also grab a free Thai iced tea if you check in, which is super tasty and refreshing to go along with your meal. Overall, can't beat this and will definitely be stopping by again!

Mango Curry

A decent Thai cart by PSU. They're definitely a favorite amongst the students; always a line during lunch. Their curry was not bad, on the bland side. Maybe their other items would be better.

Pineapple Fried Rice
Daniel G.

I was super disappointed with my Pineapple fried rice, superrrr bland, not enough chicken. My friends Pad see ew was good though. I feel bad writing this review because the guy at the cart was super nice, but it's extremely disappointing when I know for sure I could have made better fried rice at home :/

Veggie Spring Roll
Amy P.

Food was good. A lot of noodles and rice on our entrees which would be good for hungry college students. Super fast service. We ordered from yelp which is associated with grub hub. I personally liked it but it would not be my first choice of Thai food. Portions are big and very filling I just didn't taste much unique flavor in the pad Thai. The tempeh was a good alternative and I enjoyed the spring rolls. I think 5-6 come in one order along with sweet and sour sauce.

Pad Thai special is so cheap! Price is unbeatable!

This great cart near PSU has been around for 10 years now! They've survived heated competition amongst a dozen other carts because they offer the right balance of good food, great prices, and long hours (compared to other carts on the block). Pad Thai: their signature special includes a generous portion of noodles, 2 potsickers & a side of peanut sauce for only $6.50 Khao Soi: only $7.50 for a big bowl of egg noodles in a rich curry sauce Autumn Curry: a rich yellow curry with with hearty winter vegetables ($7.50) Do you frequently eat takeout at portland food carts? If so, you know how much waste is created with each dish, and we've all seen many city trash cans overfilling with these single-use containers. Big bonus points to Poompui for helping us go Zero-Waste by offering the "Go Box PDX" service where you pay a small monthly or annual fee to receive your to-go food in containers that you drop off when done to be cleaned & reused.

Green curry
Amanda F.

I had ordered at another food truck green curry before having to come here. The other food truck just ran out of green curry but luckily Poompui didn't disappoint. I ordered pork green curry with white rice. My order came out piping hot and fast. I had asked for super spicy during my order. It was spicy and flavorful but not super spicy like I asked. However most people when I order super spicy fail to deliver. Meh. I would have liked to add extra spice to it but I didn't see any condiments. Anyway, I'm picky on my Thai food as I have been to Thailand. This place delivers up a decent green curry but I wouldn't say authentic.

Best Thai tea around for $1.50!
Cam T.

Hands down the best Thai food cart I've tried in Portland, complete with a menu that's exciting! The Pad Thai is amazing, and so is the Panang Curry, and Garlic Pork w/ Egg. I can't complain about the mango sticky rice either. Wait time is quick for a food cart, as they're used to serving rushing PSU students and business people in the area. Portions are generous for the price; my pork dish was half meat. However, the best thing for me would be the drinks! The Thai tea is only $1.50! The green tea is $2.50 and well worth it. I will say, though, their pink drink (the nom yen) tastes exactly like Peptol Bismol. Not my speed, but if you enjoy that then go for it! A few check ins and you get a free Thai tea or soda with $6 purchase. Can't beat that!

Great Thai food. They make some dishes gluten free. Friendly, authentic Thai food. I always go here when I go to the art museum.

This reminds me of the Korean cafes that are sprinkled all over Southern California. We were delighted to see it here! I ordered a black sesame late and a black sesame mochi donut. Being only one barista, right after you order, he makes your drink immediately. You can hear and see the espresso shots being made and the ice filling your cups. Dependent on your order, he pulls out the cream for the top. I can see the black sesame cream top being very thick and full. A lot of patrons were ordering their tiramisu latte, and I don't blame them! It's what is very popular here. Personally, I enjoyed the black sesame latte very much. It was the perfect amount of cream and sweetness. The taste didn't overpower the coffee, which is nice. Their mochi donuts were good, too, with the consistency of mochi dough. Definitely would make another stop here if I'm ever around!

They are located outdoors within a repurposed trimet station, which add such a a unique Portland touch to their vibe. Although usually a 1-2 person operation, drinks always come out relatively quick! I tried the tiramisu latte and the black sesame latte. The tiramisu latte was easily my favorite. The cream top is rich and delicious, and when mixed into the coffee it really tastes like a classic tiramisu dessert. It's sweet, smooth, and feels like a treat without being overwhelming. The black sesame latte was also great, especially if you like nutty flavors. It has a natural sweetness with a deep roasted sesame taste that almost reminds me of peanut butter, making it both comforting and unique. I've also had their regular latte before and really appreciate the quality of their espresso. The coffee itself has a smooth, balanced flavor that stands out even without added syrups or toppings. A great spot to visit if you enjoy creative specialty drinks but still want genuinely good coffee underneath it all.

Great service from friendly barista. I ordered the Chocolate Jesus and my kid had the Arabic People's Latte. Both drinks were unique and superbly delicious with cardamom accents. I've been here quite a few times and have really enjoyed the Aribic People's latte with its strong cardamon overtones, the Chocolate Jesus and today, the Mucho Calliente, which promises a chili infusion, and cinnamon infused espresso with dark chocolate! But wait..., oh no, I forgot to ask for oat... this is probably (certainly) dairy. Argh! Sorry, I have no Viking blood and can not digest cow milk. I would rather battle the aforementioned Viking before I'd endure the results of ... dairy! So, I brought my drink up fully prepared to pay for another and everyone there, EVERYONE, in almost unison, refused to take my payment. They kindly and quickly made another and... oh... spicy indeed, but chocolatey and balanced! One of the best spicy mochas I've had anywhere ... and I am an absolute Spella snob and proud of it!
