He checked and although it showed no sign of being bad when I started out that day it was definitely dead a a doorknob. He went to his truck and found a replacement and the price was the same as if I bought one & installed it myself. I paid, he installed, & I drove off. To say this was a perfect interaction would be an understatement. I dread to break down on the side of the road but this was so seamless I cant say enough good things about pop a lock I would absolutely use them again. I ended up popping my tire after leaving work this afternoon Smdh. I'm so thankful to have Roadside Assistance for my car. I don't care what's happening in my life. I'll ALWAYS make sure I have car coverages. Recently I enrolled in Car Shield, I'm so glad that I did because my AAA Roadside Assistance has exhausted its limits for me this year (4) times a year is the plan I have with them. I forgot that back in March of this year one of my co-workers locked his keys up in his car and I did the honorable thing of giving him assistance. Without even thinking about if I'd need my locks popped. I paid for my Car Shield Gold Select Coverage Plan and it's the Best Deal that I could've invested in. I use to see Ice T, and Vivica A. Fox on the commercials but never took it as a real good investment for (Extended) car warranty coverage. I pulled over in a secure spot, and called the number on my contract. I gave the dispatcher my mileage, my name, we verified the make and model together before she told me How much it'll cost my plan for the Roadside Assistant to come out and replace my damaged tire. It was $125 that was covered with my Gold Select Plan ( I'm entitled to 5) Roadside Assistance Services per month guys. With AAA coverage my vehicle is only covered for (4) Roadside Services per year and that $99 yearly unless I find a promotional code or coupon. I'm definitely going to keep Car Shield as my main Roadside Service going forward? it's an additional $99 a month if you add another car to your plan. After I gave the Dispatcher the information she required. I received a text message from Roy R. letting me that he was on the way. I locked my keys and phone in my car by accident. It was just after 11 pm. I had a case of water that I couldn't carry to walk home 42 min from my car. A kind lady dropped me off with the water. I used my roommates phone to call for the lock out service. The dispatcher said he could have a driver there in 45 min, the driver called less than 5 min said he was close and asked how long it would take me to get there when I couldn't give him an estimate he told me I would have to call back. When I arrived to my car, I called back, the dispatcher placed me on hold and came back and said the driver would loop back after another call and it would less than 30 min. Over 30 min later the driver wasn't there. I called the dispatcher again to get an eta which I was informed it would be another 30 min to wait. I would give no stars if I could. This company left a woman waiting in a parking lot with no way to protect herself on the east side of town after midnight. I called another company that was there in 15 min. I had Pop-A-Lock install a new battery late last night. The next morning, right before a doctor's appointment, the vehicle wouldn't start -- the battery was already dead. We called Pop-A-Lock, who installed it, and were told they "don't help with courtesy jumps" anymore. This was surprising because we paid specifically for installation and expected them to stand behind their work, especially when the issue happened less than 24 hours later. Interstate Batteries' manager even got involved and messaged Pop-A-Lock directly, but they still refused to help in any way. They also took our previously working battery at the time of installation, saying they were required to dispose of it -- leaving us with no backup and completely stranded. Ultimately, Pop-A-Lock would not take any responsibility for a brand-new battery they installed the night before. If you value reliability and accountability, I cannot recommend using Pop-A-Lock for automotive battery services. read more

The battery that Pop a lock installed last year went bad. I called my Insurance Co. for help. After waiting for 2 hours, Pop a lock shows up and tested the battery, no good. I asked if they had a new one. The driver said he had to call the office. He was told not to replace it. I have to take it to an Interstate Battery Center for replacement. This is 3:30 on a Friday. I reached out to my insurance and my insurance company contacted pop a lock. Estimated 57 mins wait time but the guy arrived 30-40mins ish late... The guys was pretty nice.. The only problem after he tested my battery and the reading was low and then I bought the battery on the spot he installed and the car won't start still, but the flickering and weird sound was gone... But he said because the battery is already installed he really can't help anymore.. so he left... And I had to call another dispatch to help which the towing company... And the first thing the tow guy asked me was did he jump start the new battery... And guess what that was the only thing pop a lock guys should have done before he left.. And that fixed my problem instead my car being towed... I'm really upset because not only that I had to wait for another hour for just a jumpstart if pop a lock just took the time and jump start before leaving I wouldn't have wasted more time.. I just hope for next time the technician takes a little more time... that could have save me time.. But other than that , the battery I got was $196 plus tip I did it was convenient being brought to you. I just wish the guys jump start my car before I left than I could have given a better review. Last Friday I was locked out of my house without my phone. I used a neighbor's phone to call Pop A Lock because I had used them before. The first time I used them several years ago the whole deal felt shady so I was hesitant to call, but I didn't know what else to do. I was told someone would be there in 20 minutes. The man who arrived told me the computers were down and I would have to pay him in cash, Venmo, or Zelle directly into his account. I agreed to it even though it felt shady because it was the same thing that happened before with Pop a Lock and the charge was $100. We went through the back yard to get to the door that had spontaneously locked itself. I realized we left the gate open and my dogs would run out when the door was open. I left him there while I closed the gate and when I got back the door was open and my dogs were out. He asked if he could go through the house to get to his car to get the invoice. I said yes because it was closer than going all the way around the house. I followed him to his car. Instead of an invoice he had a phone. He told me the normal charge was $650 but would give me a deal of $500. I was shocked. Then he gave me a QR code so that I would not have to enter his information in my Zelle. I paid it because I didn't know what else to do but I felt scammed. I think there is something about this business that is not ok. Twice I have needed emergency help and twice the computers were down and I had to pay directly into the personal bank account of the person who showed up. When I called Pop a Lock to ask for a receipt they and record of the call. And the person I talked to was very rude and clearly did not want to talk about it. The name he gave me for the Zelle was Cimarrow. I needed help and got it, but I was left feeling completely ripped off by someone who I should have been able to trust if their advertising were true. I would only recommend this company and their employee Bryan if you call for gas and want to get ripped off for a battery you don't need and abandoned with still no gas because their con artist of an employee insists that you still have a mile left in your car when that's literally just your display. He also had the audacity to send a picture of the gas can to my insurance company claiming that they had actually fulfilled the work order. But in reality, they ripped me off for a battery I didn't need, convinced me I didn't need gas even though I knew that I did because when he asked me to stay there and not turn on my car till after he left, which was super suspicious in the first place, I made it 5 feet and then my car, spoiler alert, ran out of gas. Brian left a disabled veteran in 100+ degree weather to wait for the insurance company to send yet another tow company to actually give me gas which was the reason I called them in the first place. I have already filed a formal complaint with my insurance company to never to use the scam artist company ever again. If your insurance company insists that they send this company, please tell them not to unless you want to get ripped off and abandoned in the Las Vegas heat The first indication should've been when they tried to Insist that if something ever happens that I called them directly not my insurance company, And then going on and on and on about how it's not my gas it's my battery when I knew perfectly well I was out of gas. Fine sell me the unnecessary battery but at least give me the gas and not leave me there abandoned. Well, my car battery died and the car was stuck in my garage. Called Pop a Lock and was told a tech could be at my house with a new battery within an hour. The tech, Diego, arrived as scheduled and I was able to track his arrival on their company GPS link. He installed a 2 year Interstate battery for a total of $280. No problem since I paid $160 for my dead battery that lasted only 15 months in the desert heat. Got a 2 year warranty from Pop A Lock for free replacement if the battery goes bad before that deadline date. Will call them back for other emergencies. Insanely unreliable, I'm not sure how a company can be so dishonest and not take accountability. My husband called pop a lock and the original time was 90-120 minutes .... At the 3 hour mark... we called and they quoted us another 20 minutes which was fine but that 20 minutes then became another hour. So what was once 2 hour wait became 4 hours. We called again and the dispatch said that the technician whose name was Ryan wasn't answering his calls . And that they wanted us to wait another 20 minutes because he should be "on the way" ... then another hour goes by and we ended up having to call another company anyway. And yet a last ditch effort to call dispatch just to see if he truly is on his way... they said he ended up taking 3 other customers... tracking him it looks like he went to The Strip, Southern Highlands and two other places when we waiting at the 5 hour mark... at this point we lost all hope and moved on to another company... in the end Ryan finally decided to call me... and he said he never received a call from dispatch. I told Ryan I wish the dispatch gave me his number so I can call him myself but they won't give it for privacy reasons ( which I understand ). But with the lack of communication from both dispatch and Ryan and no one taking accountability of the matter, I told Ryan that we could've saved everyone time And headache but no one wanted to give me proper communication . I would like to leave this description of my experience as a public service to any one in need of roadside assistance. The dispatcher at Pop- a-lock was so insistent and uncooperative that he was argumentative and unprofessional which made for a confusing and dysfunctional call. Clearly he had not been trained for this type of inter-communication activities, the simplest things such as addresses or confirming basic details became unbearably awkward and dysfunctional. I asked to speak to the manager, and there is some excuse about how that would take some time to generate a request ticket. This just another form of resistance and unprofessionalism. In the end, they were not able to help me with my problem. They were not able to communicate clearly on the phone or answer the simplest of questions again this was a frustrating, awkward experience that I hope nobody else goes through, especially during the time of roadside assistance and being exposed to weather conditions. I hope nobody encounters this company the way I did. I'm sure with the competition in this city. there are other reputable businesses who would appreciate the business and take the time to provide some decent customer service.
