They scheduled the 'repair' with this company. It took them a couple of hours to get to me and it was taken care of quickly. Except for the wait, it went well. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I again called my insurance company to get a flat tire changed. They scheduled with pop-a-lock again. It didn't make any sense to me but whatever. Pop-A-Lock dispatchers refused to respond to a service call leaving two elderly (80's) people blocking a traffic lane on a busy street. Repeated calls for help. 1/23/23 Our car had a dead battery at home. Geico road service dispatched Pop-A-Lock. The technician reported our battery needed to be replaced which cost $30. for a new Interstate battery. 1/24/24 The next day we were driving to a doctor's appointment when the can suddenly stopped leaving us in a traffic lane. The electrical system blacked out, can wouldn't start and emergency lights didn't work. Again we had to call PAL who sent a field technician who checked the battery and was able to start the car. He was not able to tell us what he had done to restore power. On 1/31/24 we again had a doctors appointment and while Enron the car suddenly blacked out all electrical power leaving us stranded on the traffic lane of a very busy street. We were left creating a hazard blocking the traffic lane with no emergency warning lights. Again we called Pop-A-Lock explaining our hazardous location and the new one week old battery had blacked out again. We explained we are both elderly and unable to walk and move to a safe place. The service dispatcher seemed confused and had trouble finding out what was needed. Eventually after asking many questions he said a technician would be on their way to help. When no one arrived we called back and spoke to another dispatcher. After some time, lots of the same questions and a lot of yelling and arguing among themselves he said he couldn't find any service requests by us. Again he said he was looking into this and would be sending a technician. When help arrived we had to make several calls each time explaining everything again. After a long time being stuck in the traffic lane a LV School Police motorcycle officer arrived providing emergency road hazard lights. After using a portable jump start system he was able to get us to a safe place clearing the roadway. At the point Pop-A-Lock still had not arrived. After an hour or more they sent a text stating they would not be coming out "Hello, This is Popalock. Your warranty is through the manufacturer. PAL have already supplied a courtesy jumpstart on 1/24/24 please visit Interstate-batteries.com for battery options and nearest location." The Interstate business was ten miles away and they ignored the that that we were elderly and unable to get to a safe place without help. On our last call to Pop-A-Lock we found the Service Dispatcher lost not knowing what he should do. After telling us a technician was on his way he apparently left without doing anything or telling anyone else. The second Service Dispatcher was equally incompetent and uncooperative. He did nothing to help leaving us in a difficult situation. He did not call us back. They resorted to text messaging to inform us to refuse to help. Note: On the first two calls a technician responded within minutes. The technicians were friendly and professional. The third call was a total disaster for us. These people were uncooperative and refused to help in anyway. They were well aware of our ages and limited physical condition and the dangerous traffic condition we were in. For one thing, he was very late. 15 minutes after the appointed time (which in itself was about an hour from when I called Geico), I call their office and - surprise - she hands the phone to the tech as the tech had not yet left to see me. Both cars in our garage would not start so we called USAA tow service which uses a company called AGERO . AGERO employs pop-A-Lock of Las Vegas to handle their towing service in Henderson, NV. So, we had Pop A lock at our house (a Saturday) and the guy who worked for them could not start the cars. He suggested replacing the batteries and told us that each battery had a 5 YEAR Warranty , with NO proration. In other words , he explained, if the car won't start in the 5 year period, new battery replacement, no questions asked. I called around for prices, and thought his price was reasonable with the warranty. He did not have anything in writing and told us that we would have to get the paperwork on Monday. Sure enough, the paperwork warranty arrived and he mislead us about the warranty. We called pop a lock of Las Vegas and Agero and neither would honor what the worker told us Saturday. Lesson learned...... never use these businesses. read more

They did help me jump start my car. That I appreciate. But after that, all went south with the geese and I needed a bottle of Prozac just to relax. Be extra careful dealing with this company if your car insurance provider sends them over to jump start your car. They will sell you a battery and say you are covered for 18 mos, but when the lemon battery dies in just a few days, they will not help you replace it. They will send you to a different shop or direct to the manufacturer of the battery to claim the warranty. No one tells you this at point of sale and you cannot read this in the receipt. You will only learn this once you're screwed. Now, you got to take ***your time from ***your day to drive to a center to get the battery ***they sold to you, to get tested and replaced. TIP: Take names and ask the right questions. You will want to record everything. What's crazy, is that the owner of Interstate Battery (according to a bird) is also the owner of Pop A Lock! I bought the battery from Pop A Lock. NOT from Interstate. Why the run around and just replace it? (Coz they are sleezebags that's why) ***Clarification. The people who just work there, they are just doing their jobs. It's not their fault. Wouldn't hurt to be better at customer service at some point, but bottomline, it's not all on them. I blame the sleezebag corporate folks who make these policies and make their customers suffer by deciding to do business with them. How dare you trust us with your business Mr Customer! So the next day, I had to call Geico to send yet another company to jump start my car. And it took 1 hour wait! Finally jumped start my car, got mislead by GPS on my phone coz its one of those days, and when I finally arrive at Midas. Suprise MF! We can't help you. This whole wild duck chase ate 1 hour more of my time, a day off that I had to take from work to get this insanity handled! DO NOT BUY A BATTERY FOR YOUR CAR FROM POP A LOCK!!! I called roadside assistance because my battery died. I requested a jump start. But, when they got here the tech (Ben) informed me that I needed a new battery. He said that they have batteries and that he could install for me with a warranty and all. So, I agreed and he installed the battery. Well, come to find out Ben didn't know WTH he was doing! He dropped a battery in my car it was wayyyy smaller than the battery that supposed to be in my car. The car started and would drive. However, days after he replaced the battery things started happening to my car out of the blue. First, the sunroof stopped working, then the navigation screen starts randomly closing while driving, the seats stopped working, the car wouldn't respond to the key even tho I replaced the battery in the key fob, headlights going out one after another,and my headrest deployed! Which is a safety feature if someone hits you from the rear.But, we didn't have a wreck and nobody was even driving when it happened the car was parked and not started. The check engine light came on and finally after 6 months of issues and replacing all the spark plugs and coils the battery light comes on and the car starts losing power. Nobody knew the battery was too small nobody check that! We would've known? Tried to get home and that day and car just stops. I call roadside again for a jump. The tech opens the hood and says "Whoa! Don't tell them I put this battery in here! It's the wrong one. And, this battery is still brand new." I say yes I just bought it like 6 months ago. It's under warranty. He jumps the car and the car doesn't make it a block.! He left us in the middle of the street and said he gets off of work in five minutes and has to go. I never got that guys name. But, he just told me all and get a new battery because it's still under warranty and they (pop a lock) will replace. I call roadside assistance again! Have my car towed home. Call pop a lock. Had to call like 20 times because they kept hanging up on me and giving me the run around. Finally found out Izaac and Kirk are the managers. (Still never heard a word from Kirk. ) Izaac finally text me back after several attempts at contact. We have a phone convo about the situation and he agrees that pop a lock wax at fault. Advises me to have the diagnostics ran in my car and as much as he did want to pay for any repairs he wants to take care of pop a lock customers. He even expressed his disdain for dealerships and said I should take it to a shop. He then had Juan come and drop a new battery in my car. Which was the correct size. (Juan was informative and polite.) The car starts up. Runs fine until the next day. Next day, car stops again and will not start even with a jump. I have to have my car towed AGAIN and took my car to a foreign car specialist. He gave me the run down and determined that I needed a new alternator and, a minor oil leak repair. even tho some of these issues may be due to wear and tear (Oil leak) that the other issues could have been caused by the battery being too small and driving around with the wrong battery for 6months definitely could have caused the electrical issues and in turn can cause a chain reaction and pull too much power from the alternator causing the alternator to fail! I have been texting back and forth and he (Izaac) was apologetic and willing to help. Until, I sent the receipts and asked if they could help with the repair costs excluding anything that wasn't affected by the battery mishap. Which let me tell you was wayyyy cheaper than the dealership estimated! All of the sudden it's not their issue and they are not going to help me. They say it's wear and tear. So, you mean to tell me I was driving around with a battery half the size and it did no damage at all? And, out of the blue my cars electrical system just went crazy and the battery had nothing to do with it?? But, you can google what would happen to your car if you ride around with a batter that was too small and it will list everything that went wrong with my car! In that order! And, it says it will effect your alternator eventually. Not hard to figure out. I didn't even include the price for the seats and sunroof repair in my recites because I haven't gotten those fixed yet it's going to cost me another $1000 on top of what I already paid! But, it wasn't a pressing issue so I was going to get done when I can. Also, had to get a rental for a week cause that's my only transportation for work. When I finally spoke with the manager Jessica she told me that there was nothing they could do about this issue and that I should have called on Tuesday when the issue took place(I did) and that she can add notes to my account that if I ever need their service it's to be done free of charge why would I use this service again? $200 later PoP A Lock should be reimbursing me for their LACK OF SERVICE. The rental company SENT THEM TO CHANGE A SPARE KNOWING WHAT VEHICLE I HAD! 9:19 P.M. and FINALLY the tow truck from Phenomenal Towing SUPER SUPER NICE AND FRIENDLY and HAD EMPATHY for a WOMAN with four children ALL under 10 years old! Have to add what IDIOTS Pop a Lock are because the Chrysler Pacifica DOESN'T have a spare tire! I would think that a tow company should know this information, especially when they are being sent out to change a spare tire; as my 7 y/o would say, "Duh!"What absolute idiots!! I'm just renting a vehicle. I didn't know it didn't have a spare tire but I GUARANTEE you that if I had a company that that serviced vehicles I WOULD'VE KNOWN that! I had a car battery die in the heat and had Pop-A-Lock come in to replace it. I bought a brand new battery, but Pop-A-Lock installed something that was either refurbished or fake, because the battery crapped out three days later. I had to waste time, effort and money to have a new battery installed. Then (before the earlier battery crapped out) another car needed a battery replacement. The installer gave himself a heft tip without my authorization and Pop-A-Lock refuses to return the stolen money. Don't do business with this company. read more

I got a new battery from these guys on 01/29 and in May'24 all of a sudden my car wouldn't start. When i checked, the battery was not in its place. When i called them to come and take a look, they told me the car ran fine for 3 months so the battery is fine. The fact that they did not install their FINE battery did not matter. The customer care was rude and told me to drive to some place and get my car checked, when I said my car wouldn't start....wow! I ended up using a zip tie to put the battery back in its place and get it fixed. will not recommend to anyone!!! Be aware!!!! read more

CAN I GIVE FEWER THAN ZERO STARS! These people were dispatched to me by my auto insurance company to simply change a flat tire at 12:30 in the morning! I specifically requested a TOW TRUCK and an EXPERIENCED towing/repair person, but instead some 16-19 year-old kid showed up in his little sports car and assured me he knew what he was doing. Well, he lied! We only needed to swap out a flat tire for a full replacement in my trunk. The guy would need to remove my wheel lock using my lock key and then replace the tire. But the kid DIDN'T have a clue what he was doing and used the wrong equipment on my lug nuts, which irreperably and permanently stripped my wheel lock key, rendering it useless! He grew so exasperated with himself that he finally told me "hey, guy....yah, I can't fix this, so you're on your own." And he drove off. He left me stranded 20+ miles from home In the middle of NOWHERE, in the middle of the night...and I'm a disabled senior citizen! Who DOES that?? So, I finally found a REAL towing company at 6am to bring my car on a flatbed to a shop, and they told me the lug nut lock key was "stripped beyond repair," so ALL of my tires' lug nut locks would have to be hammered off my car. That cost me almost $60+/-. To make matters worse, I had to buy another set of wheel lock keys and a brand new tire (the old one WAS fine...it just had a slow leak and went flat). But the new tire and service cost ANOTHER $140+/-. If the POP-A-LOCK guy had simply told me he COULDN'T assist me because he was untrained and did not have the right equipment...I wouldn't have had to endure the financial loss over two days of my life WASTED to unravel his mess! So, I contacted the manager at POP-A-LOCK and explained the situation...and he could care less. Guess he's a contractor for my insurance company (Progressive), so he seems to believe he has a "guaranteed" flow of dispatched work orders. Not so. I escalated the matter to the Sr. Exec. VP of Customer Relations at Progressive, and she ASSURED me the Mr. POP-A-LOCK's contract with be "revisited" immediately...and this incompetent and careless company WON'T be receiving many more dispatched jobs in the near future...if any. You're making a BIG MISTAKE if you call these jokers! read more
