Tucked in next to the Mom's is a new college park ice cream spot. The place also does doughnuts and popcorn, if you're wondering about the rest of the name. It's decorated nicely, and is really adorable. On a hot summer's night, I stopped by for ice cream. The place was empty, except for one young woman behind the counter, on her phone. She barely looked up, with a "let me know if I can help you." I ordered my scoops and started waiting while my partner ordered a soft serve. This is apparently a production. I seriously almost finished my ice cream waiting.... But, in the meantime, about ten people in different groups came in. Several wound up just leaving. The one woman who was there started shouting into the back for someone to come help her. After 4-5 attempts, a second woman came out. She had been way too busy chatting with someone on her phone about her car to offer any help -- which she continued to do while she rang me up. I've been to places where I felt like the staff didn't care one way or the other, this one made me feel like I was really interrupting these two ladies' evening of texting and chatting, and they would have preferred nobody came in. Had a Friday meeting at work and a coworker typically brings donuts. He wasn't able to do it this week so I volunteered to do so. I wanted to try a new spot and found this place on Yelp. I was on a time crunch so tried to be there close to when they opened at 9am. I walked in and the space was so cute. The yellow decor is so nice. I was nicely greeted when I walked in and was excited to get some donuts. I was informed it would be about 10-15 minutes for the donut machine to warm up. I was concerned about the time and walked out trying to find somewhere else nearby that wasn't too commercial. I couldn't and returned to get the donuts. I'm glad I did because it didn't take too long and they were good. My only gripe is that these are mini donuts and the price is a bit steep for the size. $15 for 12 mini donuts. My former manager and I decided to meet up for a little morning treat! This was the perfect location for us to meet! We were welcomed by the owner of this cute family owned business! They were so kind and patient while we placed our order. I am obsessed with donuts so this was my kind of place! We learned a little about the history and finally placed our order. I got the trio-strawberry sprinkles, glaze and I think the dulce mini donuts. My former manager orders the pistachio, biscoff cookies, and cinnamon mini donuts. I didn't feel made for inhaling them because they were so small. It was the right serving size if you ask me! We also order a chai latte as well. Everything was delicious! We sat outside and the owner came by and provided as a small treat while we waited. The donuts were soft, warm and delicious!! I was very excited to try this place. It had "popped" up in search. So I went when I had time to discover. It's very cute and I liked how they made use of the small space. My attention was focused on the treats. I felt they came up short. I love ice cream, but what I saw was of the "unicorn swirl" variety. Not the ube, dark chocolate, Dubai pistachio or even caramel I would rather try. Maybe kids who like vibrant ice cream would enjoy that. On to the popcorn. As a kettle corn aficionado and maker of caramel corn myself, I can say that the coding was insufficient. Furthermore, I took home what looked to be freshly made kettle corn in the front. Pricing and coating aside, it was stale, and my youngest daughter came up with several adjectives that did not compliment. In her final assessment, it tasted three days old. Pop, Scoops & Dough is one of the cutest and brightest dessert shops I've ever been to! I've been following them on social media for a while, and finally got a chance to visit when I was in the College Park area. As soon as I parked I spotted the outdoor area, which included a decorative bicycle and yellow tables and chairs. The door handles were ice cream cones, which was so unique! We were immediately greeted and told a little about the options - popcorn , ice cream, donuts, drinks... We went for half a dozen mini donuts, but also sampled some popcorn. The donuts were delicious and I loved the unique toppings. The customer service also stood out. So imagine my delight when I went to Mom's Organic Market and saw that it was literally right next door! Beautiful little pocket of sunshine, the nicest staff and the popcorn is goooood! Tried the still-warm caramel corn but went with the popcorn with the dark chocolate drizzle. It's addictive. Within hours it was gone and I was so regretful that I didn't buy the largest size (there are 3 sizes). Now that I have to go back for more, I'll have to try the mini doughnuts or the ice cream!! This is a place that recently opened in College Park. It's closer to Beltsville on the back side and is off Edgewood RD. My coworker did not know I have a sweet tooth, so telling me about this place was a mistake lol because I am going to always want to go there. The donuts are so light and delcious. I can't remember everything I got but I definitely got strawberry sunshine, churro, sunshine, glaze haven, cinnamon sugar, lemon poppy seed, and blueberry. Taaj assisted me mainly and was so nice. She had an awesome energy to her and was patient with me. I thought it was so cool they had so many different popcorn flavors. I would often crave donuts or want something sweet but I don't want cookies from insomnia cookies and I don't want to drive all the way to duck donuts. This spot is a hidden gem in an old residential community down the street from UMCP (next to Mom's Market). They just opened in January 2025 and offer a wonderfully diverse collection of popcorn flavors (20+). It is a family owned spot that fulfills your munchy cravings and the mama bottles her own juices. I got to visit this adorable shop recently. The reviews about it being a hidden gem are true. What makes the place a gem is the friendliness of the family. They want you to experience the shop by sampling and providing feedback. I tried a doughnut, ice cream, and popcorn. So here's my review in that order. They have mini cake doughnuts that you can buy plain or dip into an icing of your choice. My doughnut top was dipped into a lemon icing. The doughnut was warm and okay, but the icing tasted artificial. They have a machine where they can turn ice cream into soft serve, so I tried that. I got a mango (vanilla and frozen mango mixed) cone. It tasted fresh and natural. It was good--not overly sweet. For my taste, I would want the ice cream to be a little more creamier. I sampled these popcorn flavors: o'bay, cheese, and carmel. All the samples were stale. There is only one Yelper that confirms that the popcorn is stale. My suggestion to the owner is move to a model where you have multiple popcorn machines (3) and pop the popcorn fresh. In one machine, pop your best selling popcorn so that we can drop buy to purchase it--perhaps sea salt with the option to have real butter as a topping . Bag the leftovers of the best selling popcorn and sell it the next day at a discounted price. Use the other machines to pop speciality popcorn per order. People will wait for hot fresh popcorn. If they can schedule a pick-up order online, they will also do that. I know the upfront cost for machines is expensive, but if you start out with two machines using this concept, people will come flocking for your popcorn. One more suggestion for the owner...you may want to consider keeping your ice cream display appealing. When I visited, some containers were almost empty. Glad to have you in the community and I plan to come again for another soft serve ice cream cone. read more

I have been following the progress of this shop for several months. I was so excited to learn that they had that I left work a little early so I could taste some of those little donuts. I got a variety of flavors and I must say my favorite is the one with Reese's peanut butter candies, crushed on top. That was followed by the S'more doughnut, but all were delicious. Also got a bag of Kettle corn. Couldn't stop eating it. They also have scoop and soft ice cream. I certainly anticipate for taking in those as well when the weather gets warmer.
