Ordered through DoorDash and 20 minutes later my order is canceled because "my order couldn't be completed" I called to ask if they were just out of what I ordered and the guy answering the phone says they closed early. Online says there open til 12 so idk why they would close 2 hours early at 10 and I work in the food industry and I know u can just turn off door dash orders so they can't go through so I'm confused why you would close 2 hours early on a random night and leave the door dash orders turned on just super inconvenient and annoying. I now have to wait 3-5 business days for me to get the money I spent on it added back into my account. read more

First, this complaint isn't about the chicken - it's always good ... it's about the service, but not about the employees, but the manager ... I had to wait fifteen minutes - it's 6:30pm, about the time many have dinner - because the manager told the cook not to cook so much because corporate didn't like waste ... and I ordered my usual red beans and rice as an extra side (yes, they're disproportionately expensive) - and got a half-full serving, again because the server said the manager said so because it looked better to corporate on the profits side - not like the Vallejo store where the rice would stick to the lid ... AND, I would usually order a large side, but the "large" size has gone the way of the dodo and is half of what is used to be - and $8 at that ... and the chicken box seemed about half the size it has been ... I've been going to Popeye's for over forty years - I'm originally from Louisiana - but this Popeye's has "gone downhill" in my opinion ... I won't stop going there but I would expect better treatment for customers than this manager has ... This is the first bad review that i ever wrote and it had to be bad for me to come on here. When I was growing up I always loved Popeyes but ever since moving to chico I've had multiple bad experiences at this location. And it's always the same thing Mac and cheese being burnt so i haven't had for a while but tonight i decided lets get some. But had the same issue as previously but not only that they forgot my girlfriend's fries and her shrimp was so bad just the smell alone made us gagged. The smell of the shrimp was so bad that it made my house smell. Yes I get it it's fast food shrimp but you can kill people by serving bad seafood. The girl in the microphone discourage me from placing an order. she said it was a 15 minute wait and they were closing in 20 minutes. ordering food. under those conditions. Made me uncomfortable. Me and my friend placed an online order, when we pulled up to the drive thru they said they didn't have our order we even showed it to them and they still said they couldn't do anything about it.It really seemed like they didn't really care if we got our food or not and i understand it's late and everyone wants to go home but still you don't have to take it out on others when you applied to the job and knew what you were signing up for. I just placed a door dash order from the Popeyes in Chico CA. I told the door dasher to make sure the sauces are in there because the last 5 times the sauces were left out of my order even though we paid for them. An employee left a note on my order saying that sometimes sauces get left out because they are out of them and told me I should consider that.... I know this isn't the case because the last two times they left the sauce out, I drove the 15 mins to the location and asked for the sauces and they gave it to me. But $18 for a blackened chicken sandwich combo meal and a fried chicken sandwich a la carte is too expensive. The response was, " we are out of Mac for the night unless you want to wait 30 minutes for it to thaw and then add on the cook time" I am not going to wait that long for some Mac and cheese so I said I would take the fries. This is ridiculous considering they close at 10:30 and they are out of mac 2 hours before closing? Just seems like they couldn't be bothered to make it anymore for that night. This an email that I sent to customer service, I am posting it for for more transparency on the issue at this location.. did not get my food. Coupon did not apply free sandwich when bill was over after tax 10$. We spoke to the manager Shawna and we figured it was because the sub total was below 10$. She said that I need to re order it through the app and apply coupon. I said well the coupon is no longer availble and could she add on a sauce to make the sub total over 10$. She said no, the app is a third party and that Popeyes has is associated with it. This is when I asked if shd is the manager and she stated she is. I stated that I was very upset and asked if she could just add the sauce on a comp it. She said she can't do that and that I had to do it through the app. I again stated that the coupon was no longer available and she said there was nothing she could do. She also stated that corporate doesn't listen to us. I said I am so sorry to hear that and stated that I will need to cancel my order and unfortunately will lose my business today. I stated it is a shame that you aren't empowered to satisfy your customers. For some reason, the Manager feels/thinks she isn't empowered to gurantee 100% customer satisfaction. This should be explored further incase upper management is making her feel/think this way. My situation: My wife made breakfast for our family this morning and didn't eat herself. She is pregnant and was looking forward to this meal. We wasted a lot of time now with kids taking a nap in the car. I work 9 hours a day and this time frame is essentially her break while the kids usually nap at home before I go to work. Now the kids have a parital nap in the car and her day is goimg to be quite difficult. I have been a manager for over 4 years and customer service for over 12 years in various locations from retail, to food to entertainment. I have NEVER worked in a corporate environement that didn't both empower their employees and management to gurantee satisfaction with their customers. I don't think this is the case with Popeye's either and found this alarming. There needs to be an investigation into this matter and culutre. My wife and I are very unhappy with the overall experince. Shawna was polite but seemed frustrated at the fact that she feels/thinks she in not empowered to satisfy customers. Normally, I find it unprofessional for managers to express these issues to customers BUT in this case I am glad she aired it to me. She obviosuly feels uncomfortable addressing this issue with upper management for some reason and most likely feels helpless. Help your manager and her team and give them the tools, resources and power she need to make ALL their customes happy and satisifed within the scope of reason. WORST chicken ever. I bought an 11 piece mixed as a carry out order. Imagine my surprise, when I served it for dinner, I found that the box contained 9 regular pieces and 1 nicely breaded, deep fried spine/back bone off of a piece of chicken. Yes, no meat, just bone. Apparently the employees cannot do simple math and can't tell the difference between chicken with meat and chicken bone without meat. They refused to take my order because they had "too many orders." However, they had 6 orders on the board, which were from the 5 people in front and the one car in the drive-through. They couldn't even give me an estimated time when they could take my order. The manager just stood there yelling at her associates and glaring at everyone. If you want Popeyes, go to another location that will actually take your order. The only reason they are getting a star is that they let us use the restroom. read more

Ordered off the mobile app at 9:15pm google said they're open to 11pm- I get there at 9:40pm(Drove by accident Lu because their big sign wasn't on) was In drive thru for 5 minutes- 3 cars deep from order speaker I tried the lobby seeing how I already ordered online then Employee "Justin" who was in parking lot already said they close at 10pm now 9pm lobby-cuz of Covid that happened 2 years ago and corporate won't go back to 11 pm or change the hours on google. Justin said their out of butterfly shrimp and chicken sandwich that I ordered but after taking to him he said he will get it anyways if I just park on the side. 5 stars for Justin- Another different Popeyes's employee came out of the back smoking it was my x-wife's hssi worker that I had to fire last year cuz she said she wouldn't do anything (refuses to work but wants to be paid for caregiving and brings dogs and her kids she's babysitting with her to get paid basically double.) 10:10pm Justin comes out with my my food, excited to finally eat after working 12 hours-I got home and was disappointed that the shrimp were fried with tails on and even the fried popcorn shrimp had tails on and the popcorn ones were so small most were just fried bread airholes -no shrimp- and the surviving shrimp were little bits of rubber- The biggest bonus was a dirty quarter in the bottom of the box- wtf?
