The gyros are tasty . I love the flavors. I love the taziki sauce However, the falafel is so dense and dry that first bite , I seriously could not swallow I. I tried and tried and it was stuck in the back of my throat. I came close to choking . I tossed some water back and things loosened up. I had to hard cough it up. I work in an urgent care. The guy who made my pita (he was black, I didn't catch his name)- WOW! That was some of the best flavored chicken I've had and the meat was so tender. I used to come here a few times a week, maybe 3-4 years ago, pre pandemic. I recently tried coming here again and was let down. The place looked really messy and cluttered. A bunch of random stuff on the counter, not food related. Looked like a family was using the space for personal and business use. They used to have a large hand written menu that was easy to read, now its a bit more confusing. The food itself was thrown together messy and wrapped like a burrito, not a pita. They have a drink machine, but it was broken. Use the brick parking lot if going anywhere downtown. read more

I made no modifications to the pita because I wanted it how it comes. She asked if I wanted the cheese melted and that was a definite yez! Overall the pita was a bit spicy. I'm not sure if it was the BBQ sauce of the diced up Jalapeño's. Overall this is a "Subway" style, build your own pita. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about Pita Pit but I LOVE it (and from what I've heard the one in Chico is one of the better locations). My dad ordered a tuna pita once which looked disgusting, so I wouldn't recommend that. But here's what I get: Chicken Cesar (this just means chicken and bacon - it has nothing to do with Cesar dressing) with shredded lettuce, pickles, banana peppers, cucumbers, olives and LOTS of Teriyaki sauce. It's so yummy that I never stray from this order (although it might be good with pineapple and/or shredded carrots). Enjoy! read more

Super unimpressed with this place. Its like Subway except instead of bread you get a pita. Nothing special, nothing super tasty, just ultra generic food items and a boring selection of "add on's". The prices aren't that great either- You get an almost tasteless pita bread lumped with random stuff (you choose) and then can have it warmed in the oven or, eat it cold. I've tried this place twice, the first time I got a warm pita and threw 1/2 of it out then, the second time, tried a cold pita and wished I had eaten a piece of cardboard with sprouts instead- it would have had more flavor. Yeah, not a fan, at all. Oh, and they carry Pepsi products, not Coke. Bland, below average pitas and no Coke equals a DOUBLE FAIL. I wouldn't waste 7 cents here let alone $7 for a boring tasteless pita. Take your money else where... You'll be glad you did. read more

The first time I ever had pita pit was when I moved to Chico. This location is in the middle of downtown and due to it being open late it is a huge drunk hangout after hours. During the day the employees seem like they want to be there but I went in late night once and felt like they were annoyed with every customer. Granted, there were a lot of drunk people there, but that's no excuse. If you're going to stay open later than everyone else your employees have to at least pretend that they want your business. Especially because late night drunk customers is where they probably make the most money. Also, while pita pit IS delicious- They need to set up a better ordering system. If they implemented ordering sheets that specifies what you want to order and what toppings you want on your pita (like Pluto's) I feel like the process would be much less stressful. read more

Choose your protein. I was satisfied with the chicken shawarma, and boo's fave is BBQ chicken. They have a lot of options, including lamb/beef shawarma and the menu even includes calorie counts (which is the reason I didn't choose lamb/beef shawarma). 2. Choose your toppings. Nothing too fancy, but they do have a wide variety of veggies and their ingredients are quite fresh. I wouldn't be surprised if they sourced from local farms because everything tasted so crisp and flavorful. There was also a good selection of cheese, including feta. 3. Choose your sauce. Their mango habanero is delicious--zesty and fruity. The tzatziki is not bad but seemed a bit watered down. 4. Choose your wrap. I like wheat for the graininess, and I especially like how they creatively wrap it with the toppings in between the pita layers. It makes for a delightfully thin outer layer, bringing a focus to the filling. 5. Eat with caution. They wrap it well, but there is so much filling that you have to eat your wrap with technique and conscientiousness so that all the toppings don't fall out. FYI you may want to consider coming here only with your closest friends, because it can get awkward when your wrap is unraveling while you're trying to eat and converse with etiquette. I just want to shout out Thomas the manager. He was so helpful, kind, and accommodating to me today. I had an issue with my online order, and called to see if it could be fixed. I always feel bad "complaining" because I understand mistakes happen. I just have a very specific diet that I must adhere to for my health condition. This mistake made it so I couldn't eat my pita. I wasn't able to leave work to have another Pita made either. I called to see if I could come in at another time and get a replacement pita-or something. Thomas went above and beyond, and issued me a full refund! He didn't have to do that, it was very kind of him. I really appreciated it. I just went here for the first time today. The inside was very open and had a nice atmosphere and the employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered a turkey pita with mushrooms, tomatoes, feta cheese, etc. What I liked about it was the fresh and delicious taste. The pita was light, airy and full of flavor. My only complaint was that they should have added more turkey. Other than that it was a pleasant visit and I'll be sure to come back soon. I got a stamp card, by the way. :) read more
