Great taste , good service . Menu has many choices and combination meals . I only purchased a large bean and rice cause it was late snack time ( 4:00 pm ). The staff was nice enough to give me a cup of ice water . I always enjoyed their Louisiana style chicken with spices . Outside is crispy and tender with juice inside . It has scanned to scan your QR code then place your order orally with the staff . If you use your phone app to order and the wait time is usually a lot longer ( 15 minutes) instead of Bering served right there ! This was a hard learned lesson for me . I took my mother to Popeyes and used the kiosk to order, which means my name and order were in the system. Two-three other customers who came after me were provided their food. When I went to the counter to inquire, I was informed that my meal had not even been started. Spoke w/ the manager, because this was the second time I visited this Popeye, with similar results. I'm disappointed to see the poor ratings at this particular Popeye's. I think that effective communications is possibly the biggest issue here. The food has always been good for me. I've always been able to communicate with the staff here, but I'm also not shy about asking for what I want. I've noticed a couple of times that staff was speaking Spanish to each other. I don't have an issue with that but can't help but wonder if every staff member is proficient at English. Sometimes when people don't quite understand a question or comment, they respond incorrectly or not at all. This should never happen in the hospitality industry, but the reality is that it does. Whomever does the hiring and training needs to spend more time evaluating the effectiveness of the training. As someone else said, at $20 per hour, staff should be able to answer questions and take care of business basics. I use that app whenever I visit a Popeye's, ask for everything that I think I'll need (napkins, sporks, sauces, etc) and make sure that the order is complete before I leave. Should I have to? This is by far the absolute worst Popeye's I've ever been to. We ordered a 16 piece family meal and 2 large drinks which came out to about $71 after tax. The price of this overly expensive meal didn't bother me much. However, what bothered me the most is the fact that it took extremely long to get our order while others who ordered after us were getting their order first. I mistakened another order for ours because another customer had a big order that looked like ours. Turned out it was for a customer who came in after we did. I'm assuming they ordered ahead of time over the phone maybe? But even after that embarrassing situation, I still waited for a long time for my order. I was starting to finally get impatient and the employee started to notice and she finally said something to me letting me know that they are waiting on the chicken to be cooked. Had she mentioned that before-hand I would've been cool with it, but she just kept me in the dark to the point where I was going to ask for a refund. My point is that they need to improve their communication/customer service BIG TIME. Also, even after waiting that long, the lady at the front had the audacity to give me the smallest pieces of chicken of the batch she could find. Two stars because I like the people who work here. This is the only Popeyes I go to that has barely any customers. I seldom come here, because the chicken is always dry, like it sits from the time they open. I've had to ask for fresh. But, they don't like that. I've thrown my food away a couple of times, for this reason. I'm sure customers have mentioned this. Still they continue to serve dry chicken. My husband and I have been long time Popeye's fans. For fast food chicken, it's one of the best. We like their spicy tenders. The biscuits are DELICIOUS and not to be missed. I was heavily debating between 2 or 3 stars on this one. I met my fiancé on his lunch break and we decided to go here and get drive thru because we thought it would be quick. We ordered 2 of the spicy fried chicken sandwich meals with fries and drinks. We were told there was a 7 minute wait for the chicken sandwiches right as we ordered. No problem, we get it. The fried chicken piece in my sandwich was pretty large, crispy, and perfectly juicy. It had a spicy sauce (which I guess is what differentiates it from the regular), pickles, and all on a soft brioche style bun. It was a hearty sandwich. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The odd part was that my fries were just thrown in at the bottom of my bag. No tray or carton. I've never seen/experienced that before. Because it wasn't sitting in any type of tray/carton/sleeve the fries made the whole bag greasy. Granted, I still ate them but I thought that was weird. No fast food place has ever just thrown fries at the bottom of a bag. We also did not get any sauces with our order- never was asked. My fiancé was shocked that they didn't even throw in some ketchup since we ordered fries. Overall, we actually enjoyed the food. It's Tuesday that means Popeyes Tuesday for me and my crew oh yaeahh... Visited the Las Positas Rd. Popeyes location and has a short line and that's a win considering it's Tuesday and it's Popeyes usually line is crazy, well they have great chicken and great Tuesday deal. Put in my order and total comes out $16.58 for 5 order of Tuesday special pulled up to the window and the cashier charging me $19+ so I asked why my total went up so she said that's the total for 6 order of Tuesday special so I corrected her it's an honest mistake, so she told her partner who was fixing my order that it's only 5 not 6 and I heard her responded "it is only 5" so I started feeling like this cashier was just charging me extra but I still kept it together giving her the benefit of the doubt. I got my order and I checked for sauce there's zero sauce nothing whatsoever so I asked the other lady that was standing next to the cashier for sauce and she immediately asked the cashier lady for my request and the response I got was that Popeyes charge for their sauce but other stores I go to get my Popeyes chicken gives me sauce for free as long as I have reasonable amount of order and I think this is reasonable what I ordered. I asked the lady when did they start charging sauce and she responded "yes".... I lost it because now I know she is just straight up lying to my face even her response did not make sense. I left frustrated and told myself this will be the last time I'm going to this location. I got to the site where my crew is waiting for their chicken only to find out they shorted me 1 out of my 5 order I wanted to go back so bad to dispute this dishonesty from them but It will not going anywhere because I will be talking to the same lady who scammed me.
