Thai Tom Yum was my first (and only Hot Pot broth) and I thought it was decent. Either my taste buds weren't kicking in or the broth was just lacking. I couldn't take away any points from Chako since I enjoyed the taste and quality of the Hotpot items. My favorite was the Chako Style Shrimp Paste and the Fish Balls-----ayyyyeeee!! When I come back to Chako, I'm definitely giving their other Hotpot broths a try! Currently, they offer Tonkotsu, Japanese Miso, Pumpkin Creamy Milk, Chako Miso, Healthy Herb, and Korean Seafood. Wait time was about an hour and we were in fact seated at the hour mark. The place was pretty busy. They had many menu items that can be ordered from a tablet. All kinds of meats/proteins, seafood and veggies. They have the option to include hot pot as well. Our table got both bbq and hot pot. The meat tasted really good and fresh. They also have a sauce/salad bar that had many options that you'd expect. The staff was very friendly. They were very busy but you can tell they did the best they can. Once the order of items was placed through the tablet, the food came out not too long after. This was really nice, especially for a place that has a time limit (very common but this place didnt make you wait long at all for then to bring out the items). Again, great service! Located minutes away from the Outlets is Chako. This was my first time here. Ordered the premium menu for Kbbq/hot pot. $54.99 not bad pricing wise. As far as hot pot meats, the beef is ok quality. Pretty chewey and tough. For kbbq, the only meats worth eating were the prime boneless short ribs and angus hand cut short ribs with large bone. The marinade is light and not too sweet. The LA kalbi was 1/2 fat and not much meat on them. Unfortunately, didn't get a last call on ordering. The server just came over and asked for the tablet to stop ordering. Just look at the photos--I have no idea what they did to this meat. Was it repeatedly frozen and thawed? Taking a bite felt like chewing on dry, crumbly meat scraps. On top of that, the host looked completely disheveled--messy hair, untidy clothes with their stomach sticking out, looking like they had just rolled out of bed. Went for the first time right when they opened on Sunday, which was a good move because there is limited parking nearby and it filled up quickly. We decided on the KBBQ. Overall, the meat was of pretty good quality, and we enjoyed the beef belly. The ribeye steak had a weird taste, like it had been frozen and unfrozen multiple times. I've had a lot of AYCE KBBQ in the Bay, and this place might be near the top of the list. Service is extremely fast, with plates coming out within minutes of ordering. The servers are friendly and constantly check in to see if you need anything or a grill change. The standard menu is reasonably priced, and the variety of options never makes you feel limited. The self-serve sauce bar also includes banchan, so you don't have to keep asking for refills. I did both the BBQ and hot pot and honestly couldn't decide which I liked more. Usually when I do both, I end up focusing on one, but here both were so good that I kept going back and forth. The quality of the meat is noticeably better than most AYCE spots. It's clean, tender, and looks fresh. I don't usually order seafood at KBBQ, but we tried the shrimp (no shell) and the salmon, and both were surprisingly great. Definitely one of my favorite AYCE KBBQ spots in the Bay because of the meat quality, and somewhere I'd easily recommend to anyone. read more

Negatives. There is no where to sit and wait for a table. This tells me they don't ever expect a large crowd. The women's bathroom stalls though spacious and clean have no hooks for purses. They have a strict cancellation policy. You will be charged per head if you do not cancel 12 hours or more in advance. Maybe that's why there is no waiting area. Overall. It was a good experience. I enjoyed it. And drinks are included. That was nice. For a party of ten gratuity is included in your final bill. After that and taxes it was $481.23 for 10 adults during a Saturday lunch. We tried out the ayce BBQ here on a Saturday evening. They accommodated a group of 8 via reservation, got seated almost immediately when I checked in. Our server was friendly and he took care of us most of the night. We opted for no hot pot (additional $5), and just did BBQ. Glad we chose this given it's a bit hectic to cook both at once. We got the premium menu which came with wagyu. I remember ordering 6 of the wagyu item but didn't get it, think they cap it. I couldn't tell the quality of the meat after awhile, overall it was OK. The sauce bar was plentiful with sauces, appetizers, and fruits. I couldn't find vinegar, so just opted for salt to pair with my beef. It was a day after my birthday and they honored a discount, forgot exactly what it was (think half off) but it was a good amount. The premium dinner is about $50+/person. The food is always good quality, I've been to other places where some days the meat is good and others it's just fatty pieces that aren't even edible. Also the service is always so good. We usually love having Leanne help us because her service is so consistent. I also notice all the staff such as management and bussers actually doing their jobs! It's great to see the bussers quick to clean up a table once a party leaves. It keeps the restaurant clean and nice for the guests still eating, while also opening a table for new guests. We went around 5:30 PM on a Wednesday, which happened to be happy hour, so that was a nice bonus. There were lots of meat options to choose from, and everyone was able to find something they liked. I wanted to love it here more because of the unlimited soda refills and sides, but I was disappointed by some of the meat quality. Most of it was alright. I liked the beef belly and the galbi was pretty good too, but the brisket was inconsistent. It was actually alright at the start of the meal but towards the end, the brisket they served us looked almost like beef tongue instead. Our server brought back another brisket after we told him it was beef tongue, but he brought back another "brisket". I guess if that's what it is, it's fatless brisket. It was super dry and unappetizing. And despite the help with our brisket situation, the rest of the service we received was just okay. It was hard to flag down servers when we needed water refills but they paid good attention to when we needed a grill change. I loved the ambiance in Chako though! And it worked out very well because Chako was amazing. Located near the outlets, Chako offers all you can eat bbq and hot pot. There are different tiers you can choose from - we opted for the premium to get the wagyu. You order everything through the iPad at the table - 6 meat options at a time and up to 15 items per order which worked great because they delivered everything very quickly despite how busy it was. We actually had a reservation at a Greek restaurant, but after shopping we were extremely tired and hungry, we wanted to eat somewhere close by. That's how we found this place. First of all, considering it's an all-you-can-eat concept, the menu selection is quite wide. The food that was served was good quality, well-prepared, and very tasty. We got the premium dinner. Hand cut short ribs was our favorite. As for service, as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by two hostesses. Both were very friendly and genuinely good at what they do. When you walk in, it doesn't feel like a restaurant restroom at all, but more like a mall restroom. The sinks were covered all around in water. I think the cleanliness and presentation of restaurant restrooms, especially the sink area, are very important in a place where you're dining. The restroom area is actually quite large, but the space isn't used well. That's where I deducted the one star. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful -- the decor, the lighting, the lamps -- everything looks great. But when you step into the restroom, it feels like you've left the restaurant and walked into a shopping mall bathroom. One more thing: the music was really bad at first. When we initially sat down, it was loud and felt more like club music. However, our server was kind enough to help -- we asked, and they changed the music and turned it down a bit. Walked into this place and saw they tried very hard to make it a nice & inviting atmosphere. There's a little bit of a wait while they set up a party's table and explain the instructions. Upon sitting down you are handed a tablet to order, you pick a price point - regular or premium for what kind of meats you can order. You can order up to 6 items at a time & there is 3 minutes in between the delivery of the items to your table. You can also add hot pot for an extra charge. There is a sauce/veggie bar located towards the back. Although if you're seated far from it, it is quite a challenge to carry back the items to your table. They come around and change the plates.
