The food was soooo yummy!! The server was sweet. And it was easy to get in and seated. We got the shredded beef tacos - yum!! We also got the shrimp al allijo (spell?). It was grilled shrimp in a yummy buttery, garlic, Cajun flavored sauce. The lasagna was good. I like it with more red sauce but that's my preference. A Decent Downtown Spot with Great Salmon but Slow Service We came to Maple Street Eatery, located at the end of the street in charming downtown Livermore, for lunch around 12:30 on a Saturday. It was very busy, and we had to wait approximately 20 minutes to get a table. Once seated, it took our server another 10 minutes just to come over and take our order. They were clearly low on staff, but to their credit, the staff members were definitely friendly despite the rush. The food quality varied quite a bit across our table: The highlight of the meal was the Blackened Atlantic Wild Salmon, which my wife ordered. It was served over Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and roasted seasonal organic vegetables, all topped with a lemon, butter, caper, and white wine sauce. This dish was an absolute 5/5--perfectly executed. I ordered the 14 oz New York Steak with scalloped potatoes and charred organic seasonal vegetables, topped with cowboy butter. I asked for it medium-well and really enjoyed the steak, giving it a solid 4/5. My friend ordered Mama's Crispy Tacos (two chicken and one potato), which came with cotija, lettuce, avocado, crema, and pico de gallo, served alongside a spicy green salsa and pinto bean smash. They rated this a good 4/5. On the flip side, my friend also tried the Grilled Baja Prawn Tacos. Served on flour tortillas over a bed of mixed greens with pineapple salsa and chipotle sauce, this dish really lacked flavor and was a disappointing 2/5. We also started with the Seasonal Mixed Greens salad, which came with green apple slices, candied pecans, seasonal berries, and a white balsamic vinaigrette on the side. This was just okay, landing at a 3/5. Overall, Maple Street Eatery is a decent place for brunch or lunch. If the service becomes more efficient and a few of the food items are improved to match the quality of the salmon and steak, we would definitely make this a regular spot to visit. read more

Made reservations online and had dinner for a party of 6 on a Friday evening. Parking in their small lot and street is limited so give yourself time to park in the garage. They are in a small strip mall next to a coffee shop and other stores. The outside area is covered so it's not as bad as being exposed to the elements and their inside dining area is small but nicely decorated. I picked this place because they had a good amount of vegetarian options and a good drinks menu. Service was good and everyone was nice and attentive. Wow! Went to Maple Street Eatery on the through Livermore based on Yelp reviews. Darn glad I did. The place is clean and has a relaxed atmosphere. Service was on point. Bathrooms clean. I had the grilled cheese, and it was spectacular. Local bread and three types of cheeses. The bread, wow, the bread! The tomato bisque was very good. I have met my match in Livermore CA. The Maple Street Eatery Burger is, hands, down the single best burger my 77 years has ever met. I great roll, a huge hand formed patty of, my guess, 12 ounces, a mouth watering aioli mayo dressing with blue cheese crumbles made this burger one I couldn't put down. Served with a generous side of fries and sloshed down craft beer, I was in Burger heaven My friend had a great grilled cheese sandwich on locally sourced bakery bread and a side of tomato bisque. Family run we were in the patio area but a bar inside looked inviting. I am so going back to see Corinna and hit that burger again. This place is very cute & cozy. There is an inside & outside patio. The outside patio has heating so it was lovely to sit outside on a chilly day but not be cold at all! We had a massive party of 12 people and they were able to seat us comfortably on the patio. It was very clean, friendly staff, cozy seating, cute decorations and the food was very delicious with very fresh ingredients! The salad & veggies were crispy and green. Their i ingredients were very fresh. Our table loved the crispy tacos, zucchini fries, and more. The drinks were decent and had a good amount of alcohol. Some of the drinks tasted a little watered down but still very good. The drink menu was long! They also have handmade lemonades & mocktails for non drinkers! I ordered the BLT with chicken & a side salad. The bread was fresh & crispy. The bacon was thick & crispy. It came with avocado and fresh crisp lettuce. My only request was to have a sauce on the side, with so many crispy ingredients it was a little dry, so I asked for their chipotle aioli on the side! I was craving for some clam chowder and found this spot on yelp and decided to give it a try. Parking can be a little challenging, their lot is a bit small so you might have to park on the streets. The host and our server Amy is amazing. I love her, she was very attentive and was honestly very sweet. Definitely someone who loves their job. Anyways, we sat in their patio cause the inside of the restaurant was full. The bar and the restaurant itself were very festive. A lot of Christmas decor everywhere and the patio has heaters so it was perfect. I ordered their cucumber lemonade for my drink. Meatballs to share and clam chowder in a bread bowl. Their bread from both the meatballs and chowder was amazing. Their garlic bread was so good that we wanted to ask for more for the meatballs. The meatballs were amazing. Okay, I am so happy to come back and be able to up my review by so much! My husband has been so hesitant to come back because of our last experience, but we came back today, and we are both so glad we did! We were greeted at the door by a very friendly woman who got us seated quickly. The only thing I'll say is that it took a while for someone to come to our table to take our drink orders. By the time we got seated to when someone first came to take drink orders, it was a good 15-20 minutes. They were busy, and we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine for us today. But, as soon as our waiter came to our table for that, the rest of the experience was so great. We had a very friendly server who checked up on us, as did other servers. We ordered drinks first, then salads as we were going for a lighter meal. The drinks were great, and both the mixed greens and caesar salads were excellent. Both packed with lots of flavor and good portion sizes. The whole staff was so friendly, and totally different people than they had there the last time which I think was a positive change. Just a very positive vibe overall. The menu was a pleasant surprise with so many different options. Came here for a girls brunch on a Sunday morning and waited about 15-20 minutes for a table. Once seated, our orders were taken right away and we were notified that the kitchen was a little backed up. In any case, our food arrived in about 15-20 minutes after ordering, with our drinks arriving first. When I say this was the best espresso martini I've had all over the Bay Area, I mean it! Not sure how they concocted it, but it was super smooth and delicious going down. The zucchini fries and furikake fries were delicious appetizers, and the crispy taco platter was perfection. I already can't wait to come back! The location is a little small and consists of indoor, outdoor seating and a bar area. Overall: the food is outstanding and drinks are good quality, but the atmosphere does not match that same quality. The location of Maple Street is right next to a busy intersection with quite a bit of noise. While that's not the fault of the restaurant, it does take away from eating outside. When the traffic is not going, there is music playing, which does not quite match the vibes that the restaurant brings. From food, I would recommend the That's a Wrap or the Schnitz. The Tacos were good but keep in mind that these are very crispy and fried so they're a bit different from what you would expect. The zucchini fries could have been more breaded and fried. The reason I only gave 4 stars was the time it took to actually get our food. We sat for a really long time. Now for the food review. One word: delicious! We hadn't been to Maple Street for about 9 months. It was very busy for a Sunday at 3. They no longer have their popular chicken noodle soup skillet on the menu, due to the warm weather. So we ordered the fried zucchini app. Spicy and greasy. Next we ordered the meatballs. They were covered in quite a hefty amount of mozzarella and when I peeled it off we could see how burned and overcooked they were. Very dry also. They are served with what should be delicious garlic bread, but it was also burnt. Next we ordered the 3 taco plate with no crema. So of course they came loaded with crema. My best friend, her daughter, and I went to Maples Street Eatery around 3pm on a Friday. After doing a bit of research of the area, this seemed to be a top spot for happy hour. I made reservations, but I don't think it was needed since the place wasn't too busy at the time. We chose to sit inside, which had cute decor and a big bar. The place seemed small indoors compared to the outdoor patio. We had a great server whose name is Courtney. She was really sweet and hospitable, and she was highly attentive. I had a couple of cocktails including a gin-based drink called Saturn and a watermelon margarita. The passion fruit in Saturn was way too tart for my liking, but I loved the margarita. I thought that the food was fine. Some items better than others. We got the furikake fries and cheese curds from the happy hour menu and the pretzel board off the main one. The furikake fries were meh. The truffle aioli didn't taste like truffle at all, and the furikake flavor was lackluster. My bestie and I loved the pretzel board. The soft pretzel tasted freshly baked. I enjoyed all the accoutrements like the green olives, cornichons, honey mustard, whole grain mustard, and beer cheese. The cheese curds were also excellent. I'm late in posting this review but I wanted to show how lovely the place was decorated for the holidays, so be sure to check the photos that I'm posting. Ambiance: It was the holiday period in December. We were the first customers there for lunch. The woman who greeted us was about finished with putting up the holiday decorations. It looked lovely and festive and bright! Service: The host was pleasant and waited on us immediately and checked on us periodically. The food came out promptly. No complaints with service! Food: Yummy food and we'd definitely come here again when we're in downtown Livermore. Parking: The parking lot where the restaurant was at is a shared parking lot for the various businesses. Downtown Livermore is seriously blowin' up food and drink wise. I remember working out in this area around 98-99', and this downtown area was kinda sleepy, if not quite redneck. Now I don't think there's a vacancy anywhere within this 4 block radius, and most shops are diversely represented with minimal chains. It's a pain in the ass for me to get over here, but I have several friends make the move to this eastern corner of the bay, in order to be able to buy a home. And the with the growing population, the downtown responded. Good for them. Quaint family owned vibe, seating for about 20-30 inside and probably the same for the spacious outdoor patio that actually has a real cover versus just flimsy umbrellas. I'm tellin' ya, if a place is gonna do outdoor seating in this 925 valley, they better invest in shading/cooling their patrons. I've been to places that just do a few umbrellas, and that is simply not going to cut it for this area. It's a deal breaker for me upon walking in. Good this place had good cover. Started with Bloody Marys and beers after an epic golf round at Poppy Ridge down the way. Came for a weekend brunch and thought it would be more packed. Maybe we got lucky but the place seemed only 50-75% full most of our stay from noon til about 2pm. Comfortable spacing and the servers never seemed overwhelmed/in the weeds. We never need anything call or top shelf for bloodys, just give us a good mix ratio and spice that tingles. Theirs was $10 and was a great value for it tasting pretty refreshing on a warm day. I hate when brunch cocktails are $17+, just makes me grind my teeth. I'm gonna come back cuz their pricing seems super fair, when the rest of our areas seem to be not. Pretzel Board ($20/4.5*) We got the board for 2-3 peeps and think there is a bigger one for 4-6 peeps. But for $20 bucks boy do they load this board up. It felt like it could feed 4 peeps as an app. There's a big soft pretzel in the middle that you pull apart. 2 grilled sausages that are sliced up that had good char and grill flavor. 3-4 things to dip in, one being a beer cheese fondue, and a couple of mustard dips...all good. Then a huge handful of roasted nuts filled in the rest of board so great for picking and nibbling whilst waiting for another round of drinks and/or your entrees. Burger ($21/3.5*) This was my buddy's plate who was sitting right next to me, so I was able to slice off a nibble to form an opinion. Very beef-y burger, think they use grass fed beef here. Very thick and meat-y but the medium was cooked pretty much well done. Good seasoning tho and the cheese chosen was a pepper jack, that when we tasted it was spicier than any pepperjack we've ever had. Just looked at their menu before drafting this as to get accurate listings and there it was, they use a ghost pepperjack. Now it wasn't eye-watering spicy, just much spicier than the norm. Our big knock on this burger actually is their choice of bread/shape. They use this artisan baguette, that would be good in a cold cut sandwich or as bruschetta as it is thick and hearty. But just too thick and hearty to eat a burger on. I think they should use a softer and more traditional bun as to make the burger easier to eat. Like they don't have to use cheap fast-food buns or anything, as there are good brioche or potato buns that are soft yet still has integrity. Sirloin Steak ($26/4*) Again they use a grass fed steak. Grass fed is usually chewier than grain fed. I did like the meatiness and flavor but it was chewier than I prefer. They did slice it correctly on the bias but still lean/chewy bites. Seasoned properly, I didn't look for any shakers. Mashed potato was proper soft and creamy. Roasted veggies looked tired but tasted great from the roast. Maybe they just got all wrinkled and shriveled from the roast, but the veggie flavors were intensified. Delicious. Actually, for the price again, this made the perceived value go up for me. Most steak plates these days are $30+ with some of the more premier cuts go past the $60 mark for casual settings and elevate past $80 per for bougie settings. I've definitely scaled my beef consumption due to this inflation, and as it turns out, its actually better for my body to not and try and eat beef 5-6 times per week. When I visited my Dad with my pup, I asked where he wanted to grab dinner. He suggested Maple Street Eatery since his coworkers like it, and it's dog-friendly. He liked it, and I thought it was decent. We came on a Friday night, and it wasn't too busy at first. The restaurant has a dog-friendly patio where there are heaters. The table we sat at was wobbly. As the night progressed, it got busier outside and very loud; I had to raise my voice to talk to my Dad. Our waitress was kind and helpful and checked on us. I just felt like basic things were lacking. We weren't provided napkins or utensils until after our shared appetizer, and once our entrees came, only my dad got a spoon. I noticed that other tables around us received utensils and napkin sets. I will say the food came out relatively fast, though. We initially wanted to try their happy hour but didn't make it on time. I hadn't eaten all day, so I was starving and wanted to try something new. I had The Schnitz, and my dad had Clam Chowder. We also shared a personal-sized Pretzel. The pretzel was soft and chewy, with no complaints. The chicken schnitzel sandwich I had was average. There was minimal arugula and berry aioli. I felt it wasn't very seasoned. The amount of fries was generous, but I wouldn't order it again. Though my experience at Maple Streef Eatery was average, I wouldn't mind coming back to try their happy hour.
