We've eaten at Popeye's and the food is great, but this is a customer service review for this particular Popeye's on 12521 Washington Blvd. We were on foot last Saturday, the 20th helping the flower vendors at 5-points and my wife had an emergency. We tried each of the other businesses that are east of the Home Depot. We tried Shoe City (we thought we were a shoo-in), "Sorry, we don't have a restroom." What? We tried Subway nextdoor , "No we don't either." We tried ANB Japanese Grill around the corner, "No dice." We know they have employee restrooms--they can't just hold it all in for 8 hours--they just don't want to set a precedent? I was seriously considering begging the nearby residents and giving them money for a chance for relief when I saw the Popeye's to the west. We got over there and they were open, and the guy in the driveup window with the employee (we were on foot) said, "Sure, just go around the other side. We did, and my wife got into their employee restroom just in time. They were so nice. My wife offered them money for the trouble but they politely refused. I don't care about any negative reviews. The next time we're there at 5-points, and we're hungry, we're going to Popeyes's. read more

This is my first time at this location but with absolute zero failure every time I goto a Popeyes it's always something that leaves me scratching my head. Do yall like have some youth outreach program where you only hire troubled youth? It's admirable that you'd do that at the cost of your customers patience but go off At this particular location tho they tried to scare me off from ordering saying it would take 30 min for my order to come out because they had so much backed up. My husband and I walked into this location and we were the only customers inside, although there were some in the drive thru. So I understand that we're not the only ones waiting for service; HOWEVER, no one ever acknowledged us, in fact, one employee looked at us, said not one word, and went back to what she was doing. So first time coming to this place, right off the bat the cashier was giving the Uber eats guy who was picking up food a hard time because he asked for a cup of water and she watched him like a Hawk as he proceeded to go to the fountain, she was already accusing him of getting soda in his water cup. I ordered a fish sandwich online dry. I don't like tartar on my sandwich. Unfortunately they don't have the option to add mayo on the app. When I drove up I ask for a side of mayo. I never leave any reviews this could be my first one ever but their food was BOMBASTIC!!!! I love coming here in the afternoons. The reason why i say that is because night shift employees are kind of rude. The 2 girls who work afternoons are so sweet. I'm talking about that chubby girl with tattoos & the other girl with black short hair in a ponytail. Owner needs to give them a raise or even move them up to a better position or something because they really deserve that. Their customer service is beyond great. Their Drive-Thru efficiency needs work. I came around 3PM, and it took a while for about 4 cars ahead of me, to get their order. The bad reviews is mostly from the drive-thru and speed of the service. Other than that, the food quality is just as good as other pop-eye locations. The staff friendliness is good as well. It's only the speed of the orders coming out which I understand would make anyone upset. Just make sure you do dine-in here. I got their Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and it hit the spot as usual. Cooked and prepared as good as any other location. The biscuit, and classic chicken thighs are as good as usual. Today my husband and I went to Popeye's after a trip to Home Depot just down the street. I ordered a leg and thigh and a side of mashed potatoes and a cup for water. It was Tuesday so the Tuesday Special is a leg and thigh for $2.99. She charged me for a combo saying they don't give cups for water so if I wanted a drink I would have to pay for it.. So the combo was $10.99. A tad more than I planned to spend. We waited, and waited, and waited. finally, a young lady who had already clocked out felt bad for the customers who were waiting for the other girl, who was obviously very new, helped us and we finally got our food. we sat down in their dining room to eat. It looked good and chicken was juicy and tender, but it tasted and smelled burned. I think they cooked it in burnt oil. It was bad. But I was hungry so I ate it. The whole time dripping sweat because their air conditioner wasn't working. Then went into the women's restroom to wash my very greasy hands. It was very dirty and just above the soap dispenser was a big sign saying "Employees must wash hands". Problem was, the soap dispenser was bone dry. Empty. Got me wondering how the ladies working there were washing their hands after using the restroom. The young lady who helped us mentioned that they were under new ownership. I will never come here again. parking lot is DISGUSTING and they make no effort to clean. customer service is also horrible but that is not the worst part. employees are rude and seem like they don't want to be here. this is obviously a franchise location because I don't think any corporation would be okay with the way things are being ran there. restrooms are always out of order and don't even have a baby changing table. The worst service that you can receive. Make you wait for your food since they don't have anything ready. By the time you receive your food it's cold. The do called manager in the evening "Carlos" and especially "Maria" have the worst attitude in the store. Literally no line when we came here on a Saturday afternoon. No wait for our food either. We got their new fish sandwich. Very tasty. Bun wasn't squished, the fish filet was crispy on the outside, and fluffy and moist on the inside. There was an adequate amount of tartar sauce. The Mardis Gras packaging was a neat touch to their items. I think the only qualm was that the fries were a bit pathetic in both the amount and how they were squished at the bottom of our bag.
