Not very busy on a weekday morning around 10AM so we were seated immediately. Server took our drink orders and returned for our food orders. Food was solid, I was a little surprised when the bill came. Nearly $65 for breakfast seems steep. $8 for a side of hashbrowns was definitely more than I would expect. This time we got on the waitlist at a reasonable time and were able to get 1 of 2 remaining open parking spots. Unfortunately this lot is quite small for how many people it serves and it's annoying to get in and out. The food is good though and the servers are nice. I enjoyed the coffee, it was a nice smooth medium roast and did not taste burnt. We got a traditional waffle which had a nice sweet batter. The texture is that of an Eggo but I personally prefer that to thick waffles. I didn't care much for the apple chunks. It would have been better if they were baked apple slices but the chunks were somewhat crunchy in a way that didn't quite suite the waffle. I would get the waffles again but not the apple flavor. Thankfully I had a side of bananas and cream to eat with the waffle. The sausage patties were good. Our favorite was the biscuits and gravy. They have a spectacular biscuit! Such a friendly server today! We were on the wait list, walked right in and got seated, which is great with a Mamá with a walker! We got the mandatory apple baked pancake for the table! I completely second the other most recent one-star review after my experience here today. My partner & I ordered blueberry pancakes, the cornbread beef & eggs, and the apple waffle. When we received our food, we were extremely disappointed from the get-go just by how cheap & underwhelming my partner's waffle looked. I paid $1.50 extra expecting to already have FRESH blueberries in/on my waffles, but they brought me a separate batch of "blueberries" to put on my waffles that looked like they had been 3D printed. The pancakes lacked any blueberry flavor at all despite having blueberries cooked into them. They were also completely inedible because they were uncooked and soggy. The Original Pancake House sure knows how to live up to their name. We then told our server about the food quality & asked if I could just get plain buttermilk pancakes instead. They then asked if I wanted "fresh blueberries". This is what I ordered in the first place. I'm sorry I didn't know there was two options for blueberries for my pancakes: one AI-generated & the other fresh??? The server was kind & took action to try to correct the situation. I received new pancakes & fresh blueberries, but unbeknownst to us we would be charged an additional $1.50 extra for requesting fresh blueberries. Pancakes were still undercooked & lacked flavor. This experience was abysmal. I'm not sure if this is a franchisee situation because we've been to the Anaheim location a few times & the food was great. But whoever runs this place is running it into the ground and making their employees deal with the consequences. It's so expensive to eat out so when people choose to spend their time & money at your restaurant the LEAST you could do is give them good quality food.
