Ordered thru the app had applied the t-mobile Tuesdays free butterfly shrimp tackle box dinner with $5 purchase. Got to drive thru after waiting what felt like forever and they refused to honor the coupon on the app and basically said if i wanted a shrimp tackle box i need to pay. This is after i picked up the food, realized i was missing the shrimp box, then had to circle around and wait in line again. The free shrimp box was the primary reason I ordered at this dump to begin with. I wish this area had another popeyes that hired people that gave a crap or knew what they were doing. The food and service at this particular popeyes is always the worst. This is seriously the worst Popeyes ever this store makes the north port location look good. read more

It's a shame this seems to be a reoccurring theme at Popeyes...I pulled up after work for dinner, sat in a line wrapped around the building for a good 15 minutes, when I got to the speaker the worker said, "I'll be with you in one minute". I said, "that's fine", and proceeded to sit there for another 10 minutes. All of the cars in front of me started one by one to pull forward...here I am....no order taken....finally I say out loud, "you've got to be f***'n kiddin me!" To which I'm met with, "oh I'm sorry, I thought you had already ordered...go ahead with your order..." The Popeyes location in Port Charlotte is completely TERRIBLE! One star is more than they deserve...there should be a 0 star option. The staff is rude and ill trained in customer service. I ordered through the app and chose the option to pickup my order at the drive thru window. When I reached the window and gave the cashier my order number she told me I needed to come inside the restaurant to pickup my food. I shared with the cashier that the app gave me the option to pickup my order at the window in the most basic explanation I could drum up but to no avail. She refused to listen and told me she only needed to take orders from the drivers through drive thru. I then parked and went inside to plead my case to the manager, Ashton. Unfortunately, Ashton wasn't much of a help because she was more concerned with clocking out for the day than resolving my issue. The service was terribly slow....they opened a couple of weeks ago and the lines are still long...When I went through the door there were 7 people in line ahead of me. The person taking my order was extremely rude. Gave me the worst attitude because they couldn't keep up with my simple order. This is the worst Popeyes in the area. Do not come here, do not waste your time. They are constantly out of menu items, have horrible customer service, and the food is never fresh. The chicken nuggets are especially sad, the last time I ordered them it was mostly cut up chicken tenders. The sides taste like they sit out all day and are never tossed when bad. This is by far the worst Popeyes I have ever been in my entire life. They are slow and incompetent. I work for a delivery service and I go there to pick up food and I always get bad ratings because they take forever. They don't answer their phones. I literally had to call nine times in order to get someone to answer the phone. They have a sign up saying people can come in if they are picking up deliveries at which they did not let me come in. They suggested that I go through drive-through which was wrapped around the store.So next time I get a delivery assigned to this place I will immediately reject it until they can figure their crap out. read more

My husband and I stopped in this new location on 10/27/2018. There was no wait inside, very friendly young lady named Von at the register. This was my first time at a Popeye's ever! Von helped me decide what to get and made sure we were taken care of. I was not disappointed at all. Hot fresh food, didn't wait long. The manager on duty (bald man) was super nice as well, our order was accurate too. We sat in the dinning area which was very clean. There was an older gentleman wiping tables and making sure the trash cans weren't overflowing. The encounters we had with all the employees were very pleasant and we WILL be back. FL Dept of Health employees visiting the area for training: We love Popeyes but our first experience with Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda location is definitely our last. Dining room still not open and massive long line in drive-thru. Ordered our meal and asked for dipping sauce, was told to get it from the window; when we got our food we asked for the dipping sauce and was told we should've asked for it before then and shook her head saying we got all these cars in this line and we're trying to close (it was 7pm). I tried telling her we DID ask when we ordered and she closed the window in my face as I was talking. Customer service VERY sub-par. read more

I loaded the App to order and wanted the shrimp w fries and the $5 bucket w rice & beans. (1st problem-Their App has issues as it wouldn't give the advertised free meal for first time App use.) I waited on line for 40 mins with 5 cars in front of me. In getting up to drive thru window, the very rude black woman told me she couldn't help w App use which is ridiculous... any Popeyes employee should be able to assist a customer new to their App! I got my order and pulled into a parking spot to eat. I got 2 orders and she put my order in wrong and I got 2 fries and no coleslaw. The chx wing was overcooked (dry like chx jerky) as was the breast. I only ate 1 biscuit, the dried out wing and a few limp fries which were barely warm and limp. I couldn't walk in to return it (disabled is why I do drive thru), and there was 10 cars on line so I left. About 30 mins later I got stomach cramps and diarrhea but better in 2 hours. So I went to order one drive thru on foot because I have a truck and trailer and it can't fit in the lane to order. Well they tell they can't take my order because I'm not in my truck Because of COVId. I see no difference if your on foot or in your truck. Ordered on door dash for the second time now. The first time they cancelled my order out of the blue because it said the store was closed.......at 5pm on a Wednesday. I've been wanting to try the chicken sandwich for the longest time so I ordered again on Sunday night after work around 9:45pm. It said it was received and that the order would be to me in about 37-47 mins. Once it switched to "the driver is headed to the restaurant to pick up your order" it changed to 71-87 mins which is just so weird because at that point the food should be ready to pick up, but apparently not. The time never went down really and my driver was waiting on my food for probably 20 mins at least. Once he finally got my food he was as fast as he could be, but my food didn't get to me until over an hour later. I live 6 miles from here, this is completely unacceptable. Then on top of that, my soda was watered down from sitting so long, they forgot my fries, food was barely warm, and the chicken sandwich was okay but nothing to write home about. (Super greasy). I got a credit from door dash for them forgetting my fries so I was okay with it and was just gonna let it go and chalk it up to a bad night/me ordering right before they closed. That is, until 3:00am when I was sleeping on the bathroom floor and clutching the toilet BECAUSE I GOT FOOD POISONING AND THREW UP EVERYTHING BUT MY MEMORIES. I've only ever eaten at Popeyes twice in my life and I'm done at this point. Putting them on my list of banned restaurants for myself along with long John silvers. Ok, so I get that they just opened, but come on folks, at least TRY to get the orders right! I have been through the drive-thru twice now and this was probably the last time. The first time we went we waited an 25 extra minutes for our food because they had ran out. Unfortunately after waiting all that time we didn't check our order (my bad) and of course an extra side we had paid $5 for was left out of our order. The side that came with my meal was a joke. I literally only had one tablespoon of mac-n-cheese in the container (I measured). This second time we went we sat at the window while we double checked our order. Sure enough it was missing our extra large side again. I told the clerk we were missing our extra side of mac-n-cheese and she had the nerve to argue with me and say "it's in the bag". SERIOUSLY?! I just checked it in front of you and it was not there! Don't get me wrong, the chicken is tasty, but the tiny 3 1/2 inch legs and thigh size breasts just aren't worth the price. Truthfully, the red beans and rice are the best thing there. Anyway, I wouldn't waste my time or money. I think I will stick to Publix fried chicken as it's more bang for you buck. read more

I would actually give this place a -5 if I could: the menu was not overly large but extremely confusing and service was lousy with only one person at the register - who had to explain and 'decode' the menu for patrons - an I had to wait 30+min because I ordered something "blackened" that was a standard menu item {another person ordered "mild" and had the same experience, demanded her money back and left - wish I had done the same} and, for something 'just made' my chicken was cold...portions were small and overpriced - 3 complete 'chicken' wings for $9 {looked more like Cornish hens' wings} that were not spicy as they were advertised...they ran out of barbeque sauce...claimed to served biscuits and butter, but the "pre-buttered biscuits" as it was explained to me was just a light coating on top of the biscuits {which were dry and crumbly} and they had 'no butter' available, but they gave me a small portion of their 'butter' anyway - it was a liquified Oleo {seriously - Oleo, not even margarine by taste and appearance}, which was disgusting and the biscuits were inedible {overly salty - again - especially on the top} and by the time we were finished the "biscuits" had hardened to "bricks-uits"...the table had not been wiped down and was sticky - I cleaned it with my drink and napkins...the drive through was backed up also with at least 7 cars waiting...I ordered red beans and rice and received a small portion of {what seemed to be} overly-salty refried beans and overcooked {mushy} white rice... I could rant for an hour...we had really looked forward to 'trying' Popeyes again after decades (we hadn't lived near one for many years) and we will not be stepping foot inside - or driving through - again...very sad... read more
