I had always wanted to see Rollo's open up a second location, but was skeptical about things tasting the same until everything had time to properly season. I was not disappointed at all - the food is very consistent in relation to the original location, which means fresh salads and GREAT pizza. They did a great job incorporating the classic Poppa Rollo's hidden passages and classic decor into a current strip marketplace lot. Being a newer site, it is also much cleaner. There is also a small outdoor seating area which the original location does not have. The new Rollo's only gets four stars instead of five because even though they carried a lot of great things over from the original location, they also imported the slow, somewhat inattentive service. I expect to wait a while for the pizza - it takes a particularly long time to cook - but I shouldn't have to wait equally as long to be able to put in my order once seated. Poppa Rollo's has been and will always be the best pizza in Waco. Improve the service and you'll be opening a third location in no time - on the river across from McLane maybe? read more

We haven't ordered out in a while so we decided to try Poppa Rollo's pizza today. This was our first time to order from here (Hewitt store). We got two small salads and two medium pizzas, a Poppa Rollo special and vegetarian pizza. The salads were skimpy and the romaine lettuce was old and limp. They obviously used the dark outer leaves which should be discarded. The pizza was not much better. The crust was preformed and chewy and dense like the dough was overworked. It was definitely not fresh dough, it was more like a pre-made from the store. The toppings for each were ok, but I could have had a frozen pizza that would have tasted the same. For the prices they charge, I expected fresh handmade pizza, not something that tasted like it came from the freezer. First try, last try! read more

I traveled to Waco, Tx for a school trip and as a vegan I wasn't sure of food options out that way. Then I discovered Papa Rollos!! I was so tired and hungry after flying in and discovered that this place makes vegan pizza!! I was sad to learn that they couldn't deliver to my hotel but that's okay. I was really nervous about driving in a state I've never been but it was actually pretty easy to find. Their prices were also reasonable. I ordered a medium pizza and it lasted me the 3 days that I was in Waco. I wish we had this place back east! read more

Taco pie was delicious!! We also ordered a chicken pizza which was very good as well!! The sauce was amazing! I only gave 4 stars because the inside was dark and not as clean as I usually feel comfortable in. Other than that, service was excellent and we will definitely be ordering again! read more

This is the second location for poppa rollos. This location has a more modern vibe and is in a shopping center so parking usually isn't a problem. It's has friendly staff cool hidden rooms an arcade and the best pizza in town. read more

My husband & I have been Poppa Rollo's customers for over 40 years! We actually had our first date there & it has always been our favorite pizza. We were excited about the Hewitt location when it opened. In the beginning, the food & service was ok, but the pizza was never quite as good as at the original location. But in the last year or so, food & service has been consistently disappointing & frustrating. Pizza is cold &/or burned to a crisp. The drive-thru is not effective, the lines are slow & long. Tonight I went inside to pick up my order & there was a line at the door of at least 12-15 people waiting to pick up orders & there did not appear to be any specific staff person assigned to help with the to-go orders of all the people who were trying to avoid the backed up drive-thru & had come inside to pick up. It was crazy & I decided while I stood & waited 20 minutes, after the 45 minute wait time I was told on the phone, that I wouldn't go back. We will go to the Valley Mills location & dine in in the back bar area or save time & drive thru the VM location! read more

Food is great, but I went to the arcade and got 475 tickets. I got some prizes but when I could get more, the machine kept saying "Sorry. Select a different prize." I did. Again. Nothing. Again. Nothing. I went to a worker, and told them the problem. (btw I spent $20.00) She said she could help. I wasn't worried about the prizes, but I wanted my money back. I only got 5.00 worth (not even) So I lost 15 bucks. They gave me 5.00, which was nice. But I still think that I needed the other ten. Pretty much equal to throwing 17.00 in the garbage. Trash. Decent pizza, reminded me of Chuck E Cheese... decent taste, low quality... The most memorable part of eating here is that they were showing a movie with characters in black face. They have the best pizza in town, the crust is real crispy, not soggy & they put a ton of toppings on. Their side salads are good & really big. I reserved the game room for my daughter's 12th birthday party. It was perfect. We had 11 kids total and we didn't have to worry about them bothering other people running back and forth to the games. For the life of me I can't understand why this place is voted best pizza place in Waco. The first experience was bad but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them again; just as bad as the first. The place is dirty, trash and food crumbs were on the floor and tables had not been cleaned off. The salad, fake bacon bits and packaged iceberg lettuce. It is apparent that voters have never had good pizza with fresh, quality ingredients to have voted this pizza as good...packaged, frozen crust, low quality cheese that doesn't completely melt or leave oil on top upon baking and cheap canned pasta sauce.
