They took the time to explain the repair, confirmed the diagnostic code, and even pointed out a few things I should do to help my Prius last longer. They noticed my hybrid battery cooling fan was missing after I told them I just had it "replaced" at another shop. That's the kind of information you don't usually get from a repair shop. They ended up not needing to drop the subframe, so they adjusted the labor instead of charging me for work they didn't have to do. It still took the amount of time they said it was going to take, but still discounted me a little bit which I thought was cool. I also had them do an oil change while it was there, and even that was less expensive than what I normally pay at places like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline. If you own a Prius or any hybrid, I'd definitely recommend checking them out. More than anything, I left feeling like they genuinely know these cars and took the time to educate me, not just fix it. It was not. He was wedged in there for 12 hours with no food, no water, and zero litter box access. He was absolutely losing it. I ran through every option. Fire department? Busy with the actual chemical explosion rattling all of OC, fair. Animal control? Ghosted me. My cousin, currently out of the country, tried Tesla Roadside Assistance through the app. Tesla's answer: their technicians are not trained to rescue animals. Noted, but deeply unhelpful in the moment. Two other mechanics passed too. Jesse was my third Yelp attempt and my last real option. He showed up within two hours, no fuss, and got straight to work. He tried everything - the frunk, underneath, removing the right wheel - methodically working different angles for an hour and a half because my cat had chosen the most inconvenient possible position to be chonky in. Jesse stayed patient the entire time and got him out safely. My cat is home. He is fine. He is completely unbothered, as cats are. Jesse showed up when nobody else could. That is not something I will forget. Oh, and his prices are insanely reasonable. If you need a mechanic who will actually show up and problem-solve, Jesse is your guy.

After getting nowhere, I called from a different number--and suddenly Jesse answered. His excuse was that he had been "busy." I asked him to send me my money back and he hung up and blocked my number. In total, nearly two months passed after he took my money with no communication, no follow-up, and no attempt to complete the service. Being busy may explain a delayed response. It does not explain ignoring a paying customer for over two months while continuing to keep their money. That is not poor time management; it is poor business practice. There was an $80 diagnostic fee, so technically I am only out $40. Financially, it is not a huge loss. Professionally, however, it says everything I need to know about this business. A reputable business does not take payment, fail to complete the agreed-upon service, ignore every attempt at communication, and then offer excuses only after being reached from a number it does not recognize. The motorcycle needed a diagnosis, but the bigger problem turned out to be the business itself: unreliable, unresponsive, and completely lacking in accountability. I would not trust Jesse with my motorcycle again, and I certainly would not recommend paying him anything upfront.

The place looks like it went out of business by the looks of the grounds. Weeds growing out of the pavement, random trash and debris all over the place. However, I decided to give him a chance and wait to see if maybe he's a few minutes late. When he doesn't appear by 10:30 I call, no answer. I call again at 10:45, once again no answer. At 11:15 I give up and head home. At 12:15 he finally calls back because he just got to the garage and tells me I can come back. I let him know I'm already on my way home and to far to come back. This is a classic example of a great idea run by someone who is to lazy to actually run a business.

I paid a diagnostic fee because I wanted the problem diagnosed and repaired--not routine maintenance. The shop recommended a fuel system/injector cleaning and transmission fluid service, telling me that was the cause of my issue. I trusted their diagnosis and paid. The very next morning, my Check Emission System light came on. I returned, and they told me it was unrelated to the previous work, diagnosed a thermostat issue (P0128), and I paid for that repair too. After picking up my car the second time, the exact same acceleration problem was still happening, and while driving, the Check Emission System, Check VSA System, and Check Power Steering System warnings all came on. So after spending about $1,000 and making multiple trips back to the shop, the original problem I brought it in for still wasn't fixed. When I spoke with the manager, instead of trying to understand why I was frustrated, he became defensive, argumentative, and dismissive. He repeatedly said, "I don't understand why you're mad," asked, "Well, you said the issue was fixed, right?" (I NEVER said that), and when I explained I'd had to take multiple days off work and arrange transportation because I kept having to come back, he told me, "Having to take 3 days off is part of life. That happens when you have an older car that has issues." He also refused a refund, saying "We're not doing any work for free," and expected me to trust them with my car for a third time after they had already failed twice. Why would I pay them again when they couldn't fix the problem the first two times? I lost all confidence in the shop and took my car to an independent mechanic in Diamond Bar. He drove my car and noticed the drivability issue almost immediately. After spending several hours diagnosing and test-driving it, he found the actual problem: a faulty MAP sensor. He replaced it, and the hesitation is completely gone. He also told me the fuel system cleaning and transmission fluid service performed by Cook's were maintenance items and were not related to the problem I originally brought the car in for. I understand that diagnosing intermittent issues isn't always easy, but what I can't accept is paying around $1,000, making three trips back, being treated disrespectfully by the manager, and then having another mechanic correctly diagnose and fix the problem in a matter of hours. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. I will never return or recommend this shop.

I'm so thankful ChatGPT directed me to Tire Outlet. The moment I pulled into the parking lot, I was greeted with smiles and employees who were eager to help. The manager personally took care of me, and from the very beginning, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The speed of service really impressed me. About a year ago, I brought my car to a different tire shop in Fullerton for another leaky tire and ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours before anyone even looked at my car. Today's experience couldn't have been more different. While I relaxed in Tire Outlet's clean, comfortable waiting lounge and got some work done on my laptop, they had everything taken care of in about 15 minutes. Then came the biggest surprise of all. They told me my tire didn't need to be replaced after all--they were able to fix it easily by hand. And when I went to pay, they insisted on not charging me anything. Seriously... who does that these days?! I was blown away. That level of honesty and integrity is incredibly rare. I was about two hours from home, and ended up with a hole in my tire that needed fixing before I could drive back. They told me to arrive by 6:30 p.m. since they closed at 7, and I got there just in time. While the actual replacement process was smooth and the tires look fine, I only found out from the paperwork afterward that they were supposedly "balanced". Unfortunately, the car hasn't been driving right since. The steering feels off, it's jerky, and turns are more difficult than they should be. Clearly, something is wrong with the balancing or the installation. I'm concerned that because I arrived so close to closing time, the job may have been rushed. If they can't do a thorough job that late in the day, they really should stop taking new customers earlier rather than rushing through the work. In short, while the staff was accommodating in terms of timing, the end result was that my car doesn't drive properly now. For that reason, I wouldn't go back.

I dont normally do this kind of thing (reviews) but I read Yasmin M. review and I have to agree 300% about this family owned business. With modern technology and the world going so fast.....who has this kind of patients and compassion about customers service??? "not in todays world"!!!! Well I found it in ( of all places) an Automobile shop!!! Their work is over the top!!! Their customer service is out of this world....The qualifty of work is as good as it gets!!! Then to put the icing on the cake ..............their prices are are really competitive!! My whole family takes our cars to Pop's and Sons for all and any repairs!!!! We were stuck outside of a Target in Fullerton, CA after our battery died. Went to O'Reilly's for a battery and 4 different mechanics refused to work on our Volvo. After settling for a mechanic that'll charge us $95 for a battery change a Pops & Sons mechanic had overheard and changed out our battery, sold us a new battery (because we purchased the wrong one), and drove us to and fro to complete our mission to get up and going for free. I had a 7:30 AM appointment and arrived on time, checking in with Mark, who was the only…read moreprofessional and respectful person I dealt with. I requested a full inspection ($150 quoted over the phone). By 10:30, after about 3 hours, my car had only been moved into the garage with the windows left down. No inspection had been done, no updates were given unless I asked, and the vehicle was never lifted or properly inspected. My car is otherwise very smooth, with only an occasional minor front-end squeak, no steering issues or shaking. Despite that, the staff member with tattoos (possibly the owner) began suggesting major issues and speaking as if he already knew the problem without any inspection or test drive. It felt like he was trying to guide the narrative toward serious repairs before anything had actually been done, which came across as unprofessional and dishonest. At that point I chose to leave. Mark apologized, agreed the situation wasn't handled properly, and confirmed I did not need to pay since no inspection had been completed. While leaving, the staff member with tattoos implied that "work" had already started, but nothing had been done on the vehicle at all, it hadn't been lifted or inspected in any way. Overall, aside from Mark, the experience felt disorganized and not transparent, and I won't be returning.
