Good alternative to a Auto dealership. A good and an honest mechanic is hard to find! Bona is both. Reasonable price and reliable service. Thanks bona !

Called early to ask for prices for an oil change and they said it was $30 for a 2000 Ford Mustang; which is fair and not bad compared to other places which charged at least $35-$40. I went at around 1pm and they finished the job in 40-50 minutes. It's a good thing they have nice furniture and wi-fi to keep you occupied. There's also a subway and burger king just down the street. The guy with a beard and mustache was very friendly and even mentioned what other problems the car had, but I didn't have enough money for it ): Overall good service and friendly people :)

L O C A T I O N : It's this auto shop located between Magnolia and Gilbert across from Burgertown. To go to this place you would have to enter the second entrance of the "plaza" coming from the 91 freeway. There are also many other auto shops near Bona's but you would find this specific shop at the right corner of the auto shop lot. It's a little tricky to maneuver through the lot especially when it's busy in the morning, but whoever is in need of service is free to park in any open space as long it doesn't block the one way lot route. S H O P : Bona's Auto Repair consists of repair stations located on the right side of garage when you enter. You would also find a lovely waiting area to your left with some fancy furniture, a television set and is also accompanied by magazines near by to kill some time if needed. There is also a bathroom located on the farther right corner of the shop as well. Between the waiting area and bathroom would be their office where all the business happens. O W N E R S H I P : The shop is family owned. The owners are very friendly and made me right feel at home. I had a nice conversation with the owner's wife who was working in the business office and offered me tea. She was such a sweet lady! S E R V I C E : The service was great! You could easily tell that they are very passionate about the work they put and care so much about customer satisfaction. I came here twice to get my break pads fixed for my 1999 Acura 3.2 TL--one time for my rear breaks and the second time for my front breaks. The issue with my breaks before was that my car breaks would vibrate whenever I would decelerate and would making these squeaky sounds whenever I would attempt to put my car into reverse. But after I got it fixed at Bona's, no more vibrations and no more squeakiness! It amazed me how quick they fixed it too--I would say it was no more than a 2 hour wait for both visits combined. Another thing that I love about this shop is that if you don't want to wait at the shop they have a loaner car customers can use if they have somewhere else to be. I am definitely one happy customer! =) I'm more than likely to come back if anything else happens to my car. I would recommend anyone to go there for their cars. A LIST OF THINGS I LIKE ABOUT BONA'S REPAIR SHOP: (o) Customer satisfaction being their 1st priority (o) Quickness and ease of service. (o) The waiting area's fancy furnishing. (o) A loaner car being available if needed. (o) They're also Tagalog speaking!!!

This is my second time here getting an oil change. The first time I came they did a quick and great job but make sure you arrive early since it gets busier Saturday afternoons. Marisa (Bona's wife) is superr nice. The first time I came here she bought some donuts and offered it to all the customers. This time around, they didn't have my oil filter so they had to special order it while I was there. It took a couple hours for the part to arrive but she made me feel right at home. She gave me a water bottle and kept me company while I was waiting. She is super sweet. Courtesy of the long wait, she gave me a $50 gift certificate for a facial spa (which is up for sale) lol JK. I was getting a bit impatient.. But forreal though... she was very thoughtful/caring about the fact that the service took longer than expected and due to that I will be coming here for my future car services from now on. They won me.

Front of shop, tucked in corner of strip mall full of garages.

They took the time to explain the repair, confirmed the diagnostic code, and even pointed out a few things I should do to help my Prius last longer. They noticed my hybrid battery cooling fan was missing after I told them I just had it "replaced" at another shop. That's the kind of information you don't usually get from a repair shop. They ended up not needing to drop the subframe, so they adjusted the labor instead of charging me for work they didn't have to do. It still took the amount of time they said it was going to take, but still discounted me a little bit which I thought was cool. I also had them do an oil change while it was there, and even that was less expensive than what I normally pay at places like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline. If you own a Prius or any hybrid, I'd definitely recommend checking them out. More than anything, I left feeling like they genuinely know these cars and took the time to educate me, not just fix it. I'll definitely be bringing my Prius back if I ever need anything else.

Jesse is the reason my cat is alive…read more Last weekend, during the Garden Grove toxic chemical evacuation, my tuxedo cat decided that the undercarriage of my cousin's Tesla Model Y was a great hiding spot. It was not. He was wedged in there for 12 hours with no food, no water, and zero litter box access. He was absolutely losing it. I ran through every option. Fire department? Busy with the actual chemical explosion rattling all of OC, fair. Animal control? Ghosted me. My cousin, currently out of the country, tried Tesla Roadside Assistance through the app. Tesla's answer: their technicians are not trained to rescue animals. Noted, but deeply unhelpful in the moment. Two other mechanics passed too. Jesse was my third Yelp attempt and my last real option. He showed up within two hours, no fuss, and got straight to work. He tried everything - the frunk, underneath, removing the right wheel - methodically working different angles for an hour and a half because my cat had chosen the most inconvenient possible position to be chonky in. Jesse stayed patient the entire time and got him out safely. My cat is home. He is fine. He is completely unbothered, as cats are. Jesse showed up when nobody else could. That is not something I will forget. Oh, and his prices are insanely reasonable. If you need a mechanic who will actually show up and problem-solve, Jesse is your guy.

My experience was called to book on Monday morning, quoted the price based on easy to describe work and an appointment for Wednesday at 8AM. So I adjust my schedule and am ready. No show, no answer calls or texts until a call at 930 - where he apologizes for issues on Tuesday and will show up at 5PM. Fine. I'll adjust my evening plans too. An organized person would have adjusted plans and communicated Wednesday if they had issues/delays Tuesday. Then, at 2PM calls back and says looking more like 530PM. And then he says... oh? Did I give you a price already? Oh that's actually a lot of work and says it'll actually cost 60% more. That was enough to call it quits. While I can't speak to his mechanic abilities, he fell short on: 1) being able to accurately understand and estimate work before quoting, or worse, stick to his quote when he gets busy 2) ability to plan his schedule and communicate reasonably. I hope he learns from this and other experiences and reaches his potential through better consistency.

After that repair, my check engine light suddenly came on--even though it wasn't on before. The first shop told me it was a problem with the mass air flow sensor and tried to charge me to fix it, which didn't feel right to me. So I decided to come here for a second opinion, and I'm really glad I did. The mechanic took the time to properly diagnose the issue and walked me through everything step by step. Within about an hour, he figured out that it wasn't the air flow sensor at all--it was just a blown fuse. That alone saved me a lot of money and potentially from being overcharged elsewhere. What really stood out was the honesty and communication. He explained clearly what went wrong, didn't try to upsell anything, and made sure I understood the situation. On top of that, he even aired up my tires for free, which was a nice touch. Fast, honest, and affordable service like this is hard to find.
