Great burgers medium Rare! Delicious French onion soup! Very nice service too. Cool interior!

The establishment has more of a bar-like atmosphere, which could work for some, but it didn't align with my expectations. Cost: * Total: $31.31 (plus a $5 tip) paid upfront--an unusual practice for a sit-down restaurant. Order placed at 6:25 PM. Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Taylor Street Deep Dish Pizza and a fountain drink. Food & Service Experience: Beverages The restaurant has a self-serve beverage station, which is fine in theory, but my experience left much to be desired. I initially chose orange Powerade, only to notice strange specks floating in the drink. I asked for a new cup and switched to lemonade, but this wasn't the best first impression. Wisconsin Cheese Curds ($8.99) I received the curds quickly, which suggests they were likely frozen. The plate contained 18 small curds--comparable to what you'd get at Culver's for less money. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't hold up either. They tasted starchy and lacked the authentic Wisconsin cheese curd texture, more akin to standard mozzarella sticks. Culver's does it better, both in quality and value. 10" Deep Dish Taylor Street Pizza ($14.69 + $5.99 deep-dish surcharge) The pizza arrived at 6:47 PM. First Impressions: It looked unappealing. The menu's photo looked promising , but what I received was burnt-red and sloppily assembled. * Upon lifting a slice, I noticed moisture pooling in the pan--unappetizing and a clear indicator of poor preparation. * The crust was a major disappointment. Thick and undercooked, it seemed rushed in the oven, likely at too high a temperature. It was unenjoyable and ultimately not worth eating. * The toppings were sparse and lacked flavor, except for the peppers, which gave their typical, spicy flavor. Even as a Wisconsinite, I found myself wishing there was less cheese. Overall, the pizza was mediocre at best. At $21, I expected something far superior. Instead, it reminded me of a $10 frozen pizza from Walmart. Additionally, when the pizza was brought to my table, the server handed me a serrated knife and fork with her bare hands. They weren't wrapped in a napkin as is standard at most restaurants. While I'm not much of a germaphobe, this felt like a lapse in proper hygiene and professionalism. Additional Notes: * The square table I sat at was unsteady, making it inconvenient to rest my arms or safely place drinks. * The orange drink I ordered had black specks in it, prompting me to switch to lemonade. Conclusion: The menu claims this is their "famous pizza," but if that's true, I'm left wondering why. Should I have tried the flat crust instead? If this is their flagship offering, it's easy to see why some people dislike this style of pizza. I didn't absolutely hate my meal, but I wouldn't hesitate to throw it away, especially considering the cost. read more

The staff with the exception of the Hispanic bartender ignored the customers. The food was sub par. And I think the kitchen staff might have been drunk. Avoid this place. read more

Outrageous prices. I think I heard my burger moo. Had to bring it home and cook the rest of it in the oven.

How i wanted to enjoy this more. I was thrown off by the "sweet or sour" question when ordering the old fashioned. I thought WI was known for their old fashioneds. Lol. Sprite, no thanks. Selzer, no thanks. I asked the gal if she could make me one with simple syrup and bitters. She was confident on her abilities. What I got was a garbled mess of marachino cherries and orange slices and whisky. I somehow got it down with choking on the muddled fruit. Hub and I orderd fried cheese curds and a 10 in pizza. The curds saved the day. They were a bit crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. The white cheese had a great chew and flavor. The pizza was regular crust, baked a little crispy. There was something familiar with the sauce flavor. It kept transporting me to a frozen pizza of my yesteryear. I couldn't pit my finger on it. None the less, not my favorite pizza. The restaurant only had a few tables and some bar seats. Pretty cramped. read more

Food was great! We had a pizza ribs and burgers. All came out quickly and were delicious! Little awkward ordering at the bar versus table, but is what it is for 2022. Portions were huge. Pizza was great. read more

I really enjoyed checking out this spot! Wings were fantastic and the drinks are well done. Specialty cocktails ended up being a little pricier than I expected but that won't stop me from going back. Lots to choose from on the menu! Can't wait to try something new. read more

Customer service is everything and it can make or break a business. I've been here a few different times hoping that it would improve but it hasn't. I love the food but some of the staff make the environment feel unwelcoming. Whether that's having a bad attitude or making me feel like an inconvenience or a burden when I ask a question. It's disappointing because the food does taste well but I can't get past the bad service. Maybe I'll just have to order everything to go from now on. On top of that the tables were dirty the few times I've gone and I had to find someone to clean it off. Respect goes both ways and I didn't receive any in return which is disappointing since I'm spending my hard earned money trying to support a local business vs a chain. read more

I'm only giving 1 star because the food is great. 10/10 would recommend. Customer service on the other hand.. I'm never one to leave a bad review, I always give places the benefit of the doubt. I ordered an appetizer and never received it (everyone else at my table received theirs). When I mentioned that I didn't receive my appetizer , jazmin (the waitress) said to me "you didn't say that." In a rude tone instead of "I must not have heard you! I'm sorry about that! Would you like me to put in an order for you?" We've all worked in customer service and we KNOW you try to accommodate to the customer. I asked everyone around me, they all heard me say my appetizer order. It felt like I was fighting her over onion rings.. lol. Like I said , it's not even that I didn't get my appetizer, but that there wasn't even an offer to put in another order. I really liked my food which was tasty and plentiful. The classic mojito was fantastic. I had the California chicken flatbread which was tasty and crispy. The French onion soup had good flavor but came without a cheesy crouton. Everyone else in my group enjoyed their food. The only negative was that the food is kind of expensive. A burger costs between $15 and $20. A pizza can be almost $30. The cost is fine, as the food was terrific, but there was no table service. You had to order your food at the counter and the service from the kitchen was a little on the slow side. read more

Stopped in today with several friends. The entrance was very inviting. The menu has a large variety of items. The food was fantastic! Each of us ordered a different item and we were all extremely pleased. Will definitely be back again and will spread the word to eat at Pop's! read more
