Came here for Breakfast with a friend when I was in the area. Staff was very friendly, and the food was good for a good price. My only complaint was that my scrambled eggs were a little runny, and that kinda freaks me out. I Definitely want to come back sometime and try the "country Benedict" I think it was called? A biscuit with a sausage patty, and egg covered in country gravy? It sounds horrible for me, and amazingly delicious. Very tasty homemade breakfast! This little hidden gem is one of the best breakfast spots to try. Their scalloped breakfast potatoes are amazing. I stayed in Hemet this week and ate breakfast twice at Pop's. 1st was HAM & eggs. OMG fantastic. Such a great big real ham steak. ICE tea in Mason jar. Next was 1/2 country fried steak with grits again. Yuk! The mean was grizzly & greasy and didn't seem to have breading. The grits had a sweet taste. My partner had bacon & eggs. Was ok. He wanted to go to Hanger One instead and the consensus after this meal was yes, Hanger One wins for consistency-bacon-service. But the ham steak breakfast won it all. read more

Had breakfast their the other day and as always it was delicious. I usually order something small as I get full fast(and I pick at whoever's with me plate) so I ordered the grits!!! We always frequent the same cafe but we decided to try something different...mistake. Stick with what you know especially if you like it. The food was not fresh, the service was good. Couldn't really tell the difference between the hash browns and home fries. The plate was 80% potatoes and the eggs were very small. I would've expected a jumbo egg at the least. My husband and I had lunch at Pop's we both had half a sandwich with soup. Hubby had chili and I had split pea soup and was it ever so good great flavor and yes it is made from scratch. What a find!!! Today was my first time eating at Pop's Country Cafe- Wow! Hubby had the country benedict and I had corned beef hash and eggs with biscuit and gravy. Gravy was done right with sausage bits and plenty of pepper. The service was prompt and friendly. I moved to Hemet two years ago, Pop's is "far and away" the best breakfast I have had! Soooo disappointed, my husband and BIL wanted a good breakfast so I looked to yelp for a place with good ratings (that was the first mistake, yelp has lead us wrong before) this is a hole in the wall with 4.5 stars I was looking forward to it. 15 min wait not to bad. My husband ordered sausage and egg as did my BIL, I ordered country fried steak. I've never had a country fried steak not breaded it was just a fried steak tough and tasteless, hash browns were more like fried mash potatoes couldn't eat it. Same for the guys sausage patties burnt on one side barely cooked on the other they didn't finish their meals either. While we were there the waitress was cleaning a table close to us she dropped the rag on the floor and just picked it up and kept wiping the table gross‍. Won't go back!! I ordered 2 small Orange juices and 1 large that came out to be $15, I saw them pour orange juice from a gallon you can buy at a grocery store. I basically bought them 3 more gallons of orange juice. Food is good. Large portions. Smells good when you walk in. Limited seating. There were two waitresses. We ordered drinks from one and she went to do something else, never bringing the drinks. The other waitress came over to take our order and we ordered drinks again. Every time we asked for something we got an eye roll. The entire table was out of drinks when one person asked for more she only took that drink to refill. When she came back we pointed out that the entire table was out and asked for refills. We had to shove two drinks at her to get any more filled and gave up on the rest. Every time we needed something we had to flag someone down and was mostly ignored. After waiting for the waitress to stop talking with her friends/regulars we asked for the check, gave her the card right then, she sat it on the counter and went back to talk to her friends.
