Food was great, service was amazing, and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. The drinks were delicioussss, highly recommend the margarita with the wine on top. Pops got an amazing spot. Ask for Taylor (Tall Taylor) she's the best!!

Found this spot after a trip to Gilroy Gardens. We were intrigued by the kids menu. Being a mom I have to be aware of restaurants that are kid friendly. We came as a bigger group and they were able to accommodate us. Staff was very friendly and fix a salda dressing error right away. I got the shepards pot pie. I was in heaven. They used a blend of ground beef and chorizo and it was so flavorful. My husband got a burger and it was massive. He didn't have any leftovers. Someone in my group got the chicken tortilla soup and i wished I had a bowl to myself. I love that this spot was a great mix of American, Irish and Mexican foods. I will definitely be back to try more items.

We stopped by there after a berry picking in gilroy, the shop and staff are decent. It's very American old-styled sports bar. Brunch was available Sunday until around noon. I ordered avocado toast, the portion was big, over easy egg, potato, bacon, veggies. However the avocado was not from a spread, just sliced avocados. But I like their decent and quality of sources.

Food was good. Service was friendly. Casual atmosphere. Walked in at 7:00 on a Friday night and they seated our party of 7 almost immediately. The beer was cold! :) The food is a bit different from most pub fare, as they've put their own spin on classic dishes. Melted cheese on top of a shepherds pie and servered with garlic bread (we'll... It's Gilroy). The fish and chips seemed to be panko breaded. All of it was very good, but still atypical of you classic Irish and British pub food. I am only rarely in town, but would definitely return next time.

Came here during a San Jose Sharks watch party and Mike and Christian made a real good Flavor Burst. Both were awesome and got my food and drinks out quick. I will definitely come here again for the alcohol drink again.

Tried this place for the second time and I loved it both times. Both times the services were excellent. The server was helpful and extremely efficient. It was busy however we were seated right away without reservation. There is a pool table and full bar, very chill vibes. The whiskey burger was super flavorful and delicious, very big as well. The drinks were also 10/10. My friend tried the michelada and said it was one of the best ones she had. The menu consisted of more than burgers, there were daily specials and pasta options. Overall will be returning and recommend if you're in the area.

I highly recommend POP's place. Good vibes, good food, good service. Anytime I'm passing through I will be sure to stop by this wonderful place. The staff were fantastic. It's clearly a place the locals enjoy. I felt right at home.

Food is delicious and portion sizes are huge. Service is great. Very cute inside love the Irish bar ambience they have going on.

Great neighborhood joint for the family to get some solid food and drinks. Lots of TVs to watch the game, big bar for cocktails and great service to make it all happen. I got the burger with onion rings and it was huge. Everything was tasty and the prices are solid.

Although this place has a bar vibe, still feels like a family friendly place to grab a bit to eat. When we walked in, we already saw a few families seated. Service was warm and fairly quick. We were asked if there was anything we wanted to drink as we were seated and handed menus. We went with the garlic butter wings, caesar salad, pops pub burger, and a mojito and a sabrina's sancho for drinks. The wings were crispy, though perhaps just a wee bit oily, the caesar salad felt like it went for days, and the burger was so filling, messy, and cooked to the right temperature. Their drink menu was fun and hard to choose! I liked sabrina's sancho, but it was a little too sweet. I think if I added just a bit more alcohol to it, it would have hit the spot. The mojito was strong, but also a lot of good flavor. Overall, a great spot for a yummy bite to eat.

Came in last night on our way to Monterey. Oh my goodness! Service was fantastic- thank you Christian! He was hustling the entire time, was quick with refills (unprompted), knew the menu well, and was very sociable. He would chat a bit with each table, but kept it light and quick so no table felt left unattended. The food was AH-mazing. The hubs got a burger and I got the chicken Alfredo pasta. Everything was epic. (Fair warning the pasta had whole cloves of garlic in it. Very good! But when it's covered in Alfredo sauce, it can be a bit surprising.)

Pop's Burrito no coleslaw! So yummy!

Ask the Community - Pop's Public House

Since I see they have outdoor seating, Are they dog friendly?

    Yes! Dog friendly!

How is there fish n chips? Are the “chips” steak fries or crinkle cut fries? Is it like “The Claddaugh” version from back in the days?

I can't speak to the "fish" portion of the question (other than seeing that it was a generous portion as a plate went by our table), but the "chips" are steak fries (and tasty ones at that).

Do you have a take out menu?

    Their website has menus.

The staff truly went all out for her and made it one to remember. The customer service here is comparable to Disneyland. They truly care and take pride in what they do and it's been a long time since I've visited a restaurant that puts such care in their menus, service and food. While no photos of food were taken (too caught up in the celebrations!) we ordered the pork belly and pretzel as appetizers, then for the table we had the poke, the butternut squash raviolis, the mahi mahi tacos, and the mushroom risotto. For drinks, I had the Paloma and my mother had a cocktail the bartender made based on her preferences and my very non drinking mother loved it and has not stopped talking about it since. The staff came out to sing happy birthday to her and brought out a dessert for her. It truly was a memorable way to spend her birthday especially on a Tuesday! Thank you to the team at the Alehouse & Bistro! Everyone was (and is!) amazing, from the welcome we received, to our waitress and waiter and the chefs in the back, I appreciate you.

It was spacious for sure with a mini bar section for drinks and sauce. I ordered the Birria and an Empanada, and so did my coworker. There were free chips as appetizers too and their sauces (red/ green sauce). For the price and size of the meal, it was pretty decent. $16 (tax included) for 2 birria and 1 empanada with chips. If you come here and know you're here for the birria then this is the place! I'm an empanada lover so I had to try it- had a good crunch, but could have had less cheese and more shrimp inside, otherwise pretty good! I would come here next time to try their drinks and a to go order of their empanadas!

The server was very kind and helpful explaining the menu. We ordered our food and it was okay but we definitely have tasted better birria elsewhere. The Birria Ramen was disappointing because it was in the saltier side. Too salty that my partner decided not to eat it anymore - not even adding lime juice toned it down. Birria en caldo was good but most meat is on the drier side and I like some fatty pieces or tendon as well but okay flavor. Overall best dish we're ordered was the birria quesadilla. The michelada was good! Loved the size of the drink and flavor! Not sure if we'd come back though.
