    Avocado toast
    Angela L.

We stopped by there after a berry picking in gilroy, the shop and staff are decent. It's very American old-styled sports bar. Brunch was available Sunday until around noon. I ordered avocado toast, the portion was big, over easy egg, potato, bacon, veggies. However the avocado was not from a spread, just sliced avocados. But I like their decent and quality of sources.

    Chicken Cobb salad. Amazing.

I highly recommend POP's place. Good vibes, good food, good service. Anytime I'm passing through I will be sure to stop by this wonderful place. The staff were fantastic. It's clearly a place the locals enjoy. I felt right at home.

Food was good. Service was friendly. Casual atmosphere. Walked in at 7:00 on a Friday night and they seated our party of 7 almost immediately. The beer was cold! :) The food is a bit different from most pub fare, as they've put their own spin on classic dishes. Melted cheese on top of a shepherds pie and servered with garlic bread (we'll... It's Gilroy). The fish and chips seemed to be panko breaded. All of it was very good, but still atypical of you classic Irish and British pub food. I am only rarely in town, but would definitely return next time.

Came here during a San Jose Sharks watch party and Mike and Christian made a real good Flavor Burst. Both were awesome and got my food and drinks out quick. I will definitely come here again for the alcohol drink again.

Tried this place for the second time and I loved it both times. Both times the services were excellent. The server was helpful and extremely efficient. It was busy however we were seated right away without reservation. There is a pool table and full bar, very chill vibes. The whiskey burger was super flavorful and delicious, very big as well. The drinks were also 10/10. My friend tried the michelada and said it was one of the best ones she had. The menu consisted of more than burgers, there were daily specials and pasta options. Overall will be returning and recommend if you're in the area.

Great neighborhood joint for the family to get some solid food and drinks. Lots of TVs to watch the game, big bar for cocktails and great service to make it all happen. I got the burger with onion rings and it was huge. Everything was tasty and the prices are solid.

Came in last night on our way to Monterey. Oh my goodness! Service was fantastic- thank you Christian! He was hustling the entire time, was quick with refills (unprompted), knew the menu well, and was very sociable. He would chat a bit with each table, but kept it light and quick so no table felt left unattended. The food was AH-mazing. The hubs got a burger and I got the chicken Alfredo pasta. Everything was epic. (Fair warning the pasta had whole cloves of garlic in it. Very good! But when it's covered in Alfredo sauce, it can be a bit surprising.)

Although this place has a bar vibe, still feels like a family friendly place to grab a bit to eat. When we walked in, we already saw a few families seated. Service was warm and fairly quick. We were asked if there was anything we wanted to drink as we were seated and handed menus. We went with the garlic butter wings, caesar salad, pops pub burger, and a mojito and a sabrina's sancho for drinks. The wings were crispy, though perhaps just a wee bit oily, the caesar salad felt like it went for days, and the burger was so filling, messy, and cooked to the right temperature. Their drink menu was fun and hard to choose! I liked sabrina's sancho, but it was a little too sweet. I think if I added just a bit more alcohol to it, it would have hit the spot. The mojito was strong, but also a lot of good flavor. Overall, a great spot for a yummy bite to eat.

We love this restaurant! It's so kid-friendly and the food is incredible. Super laid-back and fun vibe. I love they have a fun area for kids too. Taylor had such incredible customer service and was so kind to my kids! She was so warm and friendly. We already loved the food, but honestly, her customer service was sooo amazing, we'd be back just for that! We love this place so much!!

What makes Pop's Public House so incredible? The Staff! No matter how busy they are, the staff takes the time to greet you & help you order. We had great service from "tall" Taylor - she was friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations for our food and drinks. Especially yummy were the fried pickles, chicken tortilla soup, and wings. The great selection of beer kept us drinking along with the bad & boozie sangria. The kids spaghetti and kids chicken tenders were a hit with our children. The constant sweeping of the floor kept Pop's looking fresh. We love Pop's!

The food was delicious and good hearty portions. People were friendly and attentive. Cool ambiance if you like that family sports bar feel.

Ask the Community - Pop's Public House

Since I see they have outdoor seating, Are they dog friendly?

    Yes! Dog friendly!

How is there fish n chips? Are the “chips” steak fries or crinkle cut fries? Is it like “The Claddaugh” version from back in the days?

I can't speak to the "fish" portion of the question (other than seeing that it was a generous portion as a plate went by our table), but the "chips" are steak fries (and tasty ones at that).

Do you have a take out menu?

    Their website has menus.

BUT, it is very clean and the staff was all very nice(except for the owner giving his trainee weird attitude for asking for help ringing me up). The vibe is upscale and is probably very fun for the average bowler looking for a good time. Comfy couches and good drinks, probably a great place to have a gathering or meet up friends.

It was spacious for sure with a mini bar section for drinks and sauce. I ordered the Birria and an Empanada, and so did my coworker. If you come here and know you're here for the birria then this is the place! I'm an empanada lover so I had to try it- had a good crunch, but could have had less cheese and more shrimp inside, otherwise pretty good! I would come here next time to try their drinks and a to go order of their empanadas!
