I explained I booked a noon appointment and indicated I would be waiting so I didn't have time to wait an extra hour sitting here. Very frustrating to drive to an appointment that they had no intention of keeping. Two things need to change: 1.) don't allow noon appointments if techs take lunch at noon. 2.) review your scheduled appointments every night and morning and call your customers to reschedule if your not able to keep your appointments. I'm a new customer and tried to keep an open mind and come back and do the service at 1pm. But there was no apologies, discount offered or anything to acknowledge this error. Just $145 for an oil change charged. The waiting room was nice and clean. Update to owners response: There was no attempt to reach out before hand. You should audit your records closer if the team told you that. I have no missed calls emails or texts asking to reschedule before I arrived. The only text I had was a confirmation for the noon time. Don't be defensive just take feedback as a gift for improvement.

They got the car "fixed" quickly which was great. However they claimed it was something loose with my parking break. I barely drove it down the road and noticed nothing was different. So I took it somewhere else and got it sorted. When they called they mentioned that the problem could be something else but that it wasn't. I took their advice. They didn't even bother to drive it around to check their work. So disappointed.

I want to say they told me they'd look at the car Tuesday, but didn't look at it until the end of Wednesday. It's possible I'm confused on that point, since I called some other mechanics first. Once they got the car in, they did the work right away. The woman working the customer side of things was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Working with her made everything easy to manage. Complaints: - They for some reason "had to use a Denso" starter, which added a large amount to the final cost, and of course was marked up after that. Not sure why they needed to use a Denso, or why a remanufactured part cost more than twice the new parts at rockauto. - Bigger complaint: Looks like they used a remanufactured part, and no one asked or mentioned. So not only did I pay too much for a starter, but I thought I'd at least be getting a new one. - They replaced the air filter without asking and without naming it in the quote I was given over the phone. So another 20 bucks for something I could have ordered off Amazon and put in myself in 30 second. At least the filter was only about 4 bucks more through them than Amazon is charging during COVID, but it's about twice what I paid last time. It's really the principle of the thing. It's possible this stuff was just communication issues. I don't know why they "had to use a Denso", for instance, but also didn't ask about it. Because I had dropped the car off to get checked out, it's possible the air filter was something that should have been mentioned, but due to the nature of phone calls, it just slipped through the cracks as the woman was looking at the quote, and when I gave the go-ahead, the mechanics just did what I supposedly approved over the phone. So look, I have some concerns and some questions, but overall I'm guessing the work was done well. Using a remanufactured Denso means they probably made sure to use the "right" part even if it wasn't the cheapest. And the price (make sure you go on their website and print coupons first, and mention them before you make payment) and service are leaps and bounds better than what the local Toyota dealer offers. Besides, if they do a better job than most mechanics, it's worth paying a bit more to make sure it's done right. I'll probably come back here for the next thing that comes up, and hopefully next time there won't be any surprises or questions.

I was at muffler man recently on 8-21-25. This was one of the most craziest things I ever saw. I…read moresaw the lead mechanic at muffler man end up throwing over 10 punches to one of his own customers. This is what i saw happen from the parking lot when I was going to bring my car in, I obviously couldn't, because of what happens next. The customer was trying to figure out some things wrong with his car. Asking sincere and reasonable questions. He was only chatting with the lead mechanic for a few minutes and then all of a sudden I heard the mechanic get really loud, swearing and telling the customer to **** off and say I'm not going to argue with you and he stormed off to the garage. Since the customer said he gave the mechanic the last of his money. The customer said he was just trying to get some ideas for how to fix the car(he later told me he paid them $1500 to get the car running and they never actually got it running and seemed like they were trying to blow him off at this point.) The customer suggested a fuel pump and a relay and the mechanic said if he installs it and it doesn't work it's just a waste of time. I was in the parking lot watching from my car. The customer followed the mechanic into the garage to apologize and say sorry for making you mad. The customer said, I wasn't trying to argue, but just have a civil conversation about what else I could do to the car to possibly get it running. The mechanic yelled at the customer telling him to get the **** out of his garage. I don't give a **** what's wrong with your car it's not my ******* problem you better get the **** out of my garage right now. The customer said wow... okay and left the garage. I saw him standing from the parking lot after this. I heard the customer try to communicate one last time from a professional manner, super calm, and patient. Saying there has to be something we can do, but this is when things got really nasty. The lead mechanic completely snapped 0-100 in less than 2 seconds and got in the customers face and started throwing punches at his own customer. I counted almost 10 punches. There were over 10 witnesses. The customer never fought back. He had his hands up trying to defend himself. As the lead mechanic of Muffler Man sat there reigning punches down on their customer. I was horrified. Kids were watching this. I was watching this. Other customers were watching this. It took his wife who works the office to get him to stop punching this man. When the cops got to the business the mechanic tried to say the customer pushed him and pulled a knife out, but never did I see such a thing. there are also cameras where the customer was brutally assaulted so that won't hold up. Imagine being the lead mechanic at a shop and not only absolutely beating the **** out of a kind and respectful customer but then lying to the police saying he pulled a knife. I was right there. He was getting his face punched in the entire time. I testified for the officers, but the video tapes will tell the truth that the mechanic beat up his customer, than called the cops and said the customer pulled a knife on him. If you have a family, kids, grandkids. Please keep them far away from this place. If you make him mad by asking the wrong question this too could be you. Thank goodness there's camera footage to show the true intentions of this deranged mechanic. I used to come here all the time. I was very supportive and gave them lots of business from myself and family, but after this I will never be back and my big family that goes here will never be back. I would not be surprised if the customer sues. I overheard his wife who works front desk and several employee, backup this mans lies. The customer never fought back. It shows you they are not only built on violence and anger but distrust and lies as well. I hope this helps some people.

Not sure who checked it but my car has completely stopped working two times in less than a year. Transmission shot, brake issues, engine issues. I'm so disappointed. None of this was on the carfax or any warnings on the car. The Kia dealer in Kalamazoo were shocked the car was sold to me in this condition and were completely confused why the service lights never came on. Also, once you buy a car, communication is at absolute zero when you leave in your new car. I reached out several times for questions and concerns and NEVER heard back. Jay, the financial administrator, do not expect ANYTHING besides too much talking about up charging you for everything. I had several questions regarding the loan after and he refused to communicate back. Disappointed and will not be buying Kia again. I'm already having to sell my car I've had less than a year.

Anyway, I decided I would make an appointment this time around. I went to the website chose 'Any Advisor' for a quick oil change and there were no times available to choose. I searched every 2 weeks for more than 1 YEAR out (through July 2027) and there were still no available appointments.
