I recently purchased my first Porsche from Porsche Silver Spring, and what should have been an exciting milestone turned into one of the most frustrating customer experiences I've had. I work extremely hard and am also a 24/7 caregiver, so my time is incredibly valuable. This purchase meant a lot to me because it was something I finally chose to do for myself. Unfortunately, the experience completely took away from that excitement. On the day of delivery, I immediately noticed visible damage to the vehicle that had never been disclosed to me beforehand. I was told the dealership was unaware of it, which honestly raised even more concerns. Still wanting to enjoy my first Porsche experience, I reluctantly accepted the vehicle with the understanding that I would have to come back for repairs later. The problems continued almost immediately. The vehicle was delivered missing a key, requiring additional follow up and eventually forcing me to overnight my existing key back to the dealership. Shortly after leaving, I also discovered a small nick in the window that had not been disclosed. When I raised that concern, I was directed to use my personal insurance despite purchasing a protection package through the dealership. Communication throughout this process was inconsistent and exhausting. At times, the tone felt dismissive and condescending, almost as if my concerns were being minimized instead of taken seriously. Things became even worse after I was told the vehicle was ready for pickup following repairs. I drove approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes through rush hour traffic while not feeling well, only to arrive and find out the vehicle was not ready. After waiting additional time, I discovered the bumper repair looked extremely poor. The touch up literally resembled white out on the bumper instead of a proper luxury vehicle repair. What concerns me most is the inconsistency in the explanations I received. Initially, I was told the impact on the vehicle's value depended on how the repair was completed. Later, I was told there would be no impact at all because the bumper is plastic and "would not be reported." Those statements directly contradict each other. At the end of the day, this isn't just about a scratch. The vehicle was damaged before delivery, meaning it was not delivered in the condition I originally agreed to purchase. The dealership's response has felt dismissive, inconsistent, and focused more on minimizing the issue than genuinely resolving it. The overall experience significantly damaged my confidence in both this dealership and the Porsche brand. I strongly encourage anyone purchasing a vehicle here to inspect it thoroughly before driving off the lot and to ensure every concern is resolved upfront. I have been a PCA member for 17yrs, I've owned 5 Porsches and have been to all of the dealers in Maryland and Virginia. I had a problem with another dealer doing some work on my car that was very frustrating. I called Porsche silver spring and explained to the service manager Linda what the issue was. She had her technicians Jonny and Drilon inspect my vehicle. Normally there is a $250 diagnostic fee but since I paid a little over $9,000 at another dealer she said they would not charge me. She saw how frustrated I was and she was compassionate to my situation. I was scheduled and waited for my car. The facility is beautiful and huge. Very clean and organized. They even have complimentary Starbucks coffee, Starbucks! All of the staff are exactly what you would expect regarding the level of customer service from Porsche. I was continuously checked on by Kofi one of the service advisors. Once they found what the issue was Linda walked me to the garage and Jonny one of the gold master technicians along with Drilon another master technician explained what was wrong with my car while showing me. They even sent a video explaining what needed to be corrected. I cannot be thankful enough for the level of spectacular excellent customer service. Brought my car in for an issue with Porsche InnoDrive system. My service advisor Kofi, my sales representative Jin, and the mechanic engineer Gavin did an absolutely amazing job. Jin greeted me when I came in and introduced me the amenities; Kofi called and texted me to keep me updated the entire process; Gavin test drove the car with me and listen to me explaining the issue, then fixed the issue successfully in the end, and recorded a video to show how the function is working now. It's not an easy issue to fix, so it's taking longer time than we all expected. But Kofi kept me updated the whole time, and told me they will store my vehicle indoor during the weekend when they're closed, which is very considerate. On our first visit my wife wanted to drive a Panamera to see if it was for her. We met Adrian and off we went. He was thoroughly knowledgeable about the entire family of cars and made her feel very comfortable to just "check one out". I had previously purchased 5 cars in my life and have my own process when purchasing cars so I really appreciated his friendly demeanor, patience and willingness to work with me. Night and day difference between these guys and Porsche of South Shore, NY. (See below for their review) Casey and RJ handled my sale and they both made the experience effortless. I was looking to purchase from out of state and had a bizarre experience with Porsche of South Shore which tainted me from attempting to buy a car from so far away. Contacted Casey and it was smooth sailing from there. He gave me an honest summation as to the cars condition and we negotiated a very fair price. I had a 3rd party inspection, (which was basically unnecessary), and they gave the thumbs up. My plan was to fly out to DC and drive the car all the way back with Casey and RJ setting up everything in advance so that I could do so. Got sick prior to arriving so I went with a enclosed shipper who also turned out to be exceptional as well, (MJ Parker Transport, see below). I want to relate my first Service with Silver Spring Porsche, which was to install winter tires. I called and was told to come in and pay in person. At this point I was offered a $5975 and $4063 option. The $3047 option was not even mentioned until I mentioned that I had been told the price for tires just a few months earlier. When I researched the price I had been charged I discovered that the 3047+254(hub set) was over 6% more than the price listed many times on the internet. When I inquired about a loaner car I was told no. The service was going to be so fast that it did not make sense. When I came in on the day the tires were to be installed, I had a valid coupon for $100 off and it also covered the installation and storage. I was told I could not be credited the $100 because I had paid in advance for the tires. My appointment was at 7:30, when 9:30 rolled around I asked what was up with my car and told that they had just installed the wheels, which should have been already sent to Porsche. At this point I could not get a car wash as that would take another half hour. I needed to get gas on the way to work and looked over the new tires. They had sticky white adhesive that looked terrible on 3 of the.4 wheels. Every time I look at the tires I am upset. The tire pressure is low in one of the tires which was just installed. It is not just one but 6 bad behaviors. I expected a lot better from Porsche. read more

Surprisingly the visit to the Silver Spring Porsche car dealership was very pleasant. You know anytime you go to a high end sophisticated dealership you wonder how the sales people will treat and judge you. I have to be honest, we did have some interaction with other sales people at the dealership which we did not like at all. One of which was Casey Parkin who was helping out with the appraisal process and was the person who I DID NOT LIKE how he spoke to my husband but, Xeni Deshishku took care of us and made everything better. I have to say he is the reason we did not walk out of the dealership and he is the reason I did not give less than 5 stars. What can I say about Xeni, he is very personable and doesn't focus on the sale and was willing to work with us instead of dismissing us or being too pushy. Xeni has a very rare quality which made the process for buying a Porsche much smoother, less stressful, more confident and exciting! He was open and honest about the car and answered all my questions and concerns. Just like I said in the past with my Lexus, its not about the car but the whole experience you have at the dealership and with the staff that make a huge difference. EDIT 1: No thanks. Your service manager should know who I am in view of the details I left in the review and at this point, I don't plan to go back there. --- I have had a few small projects at this place after being disappointed by the locations in Arlington and Tysons Corner. I think Arlington is still the worst and Tysons Corner is about the same as Silver Spring. The overall service at this location should have been better when they clearly overcharge with their Porsche premiums (and still higher than some other Porsche dealers). I expected their quality control to be better than non-Porsche certified bodyshops. Unfortunately, that was not the case. 1. When they serviced my vehicle, they ran their full inspection on the vehicle as well and were happy to tell me that (1) the brake oil was dirty and needed a full flushing, (2) the wiper blades had to be placed, and (3) a few other things for a vehicle about 20K miles that followed every service recommendations. I still did the brake fluid flushing at another service center (Center A) and Center A told me that the fluid was fine and honestly did not require a flushing. Center A also told me about an oil leak from the engine area and that I should take it to the dealer while I was still under their warranty. I was shocked because Silver Spring did not tell me about this a couple days ago when they performed their full inspection. Center A also told me that it was a common issue for my vehicle and sure it was - there was a long thread discussing the same issue on a Porche forum and how many dealers deliberately decide not to warn their customers about it because they can charge much more after the warranty expires. I don't know if that was the case here but regardless, I was disappointed. I took the vehicle back to Silver Spring and they then acknowledged the issue and replaced the gasket. 2. Recently, they left a small but noticeable damage on my vehicle while they were replacing some parts over the ceiling area. I pointed that out in an email to the service manager, but I got no response. I even told her that I was going to let this quality issue slide but at least I was expecting her apology. She previously also did not respond to multiple emails for making an appointment. She then told me that she did not receive previous emails. I think this is it. This place has not given me much confidence and so my trade in for a new Porsche (or something else at this point) will be with another location. read more

BEWARE: they will charge you $150 for each little item they diagnose and quote you ridiculous hours. My starter was broken and there was a coolant leak (WHICH I PROVIDED THEM THE ACTUAL PARTS NUMBER FOR). Broken starter takes 5 seconds to diagnose - you start the engine. The coolant leak - I PROVIDED THEM THE ACTUAL PARTS NUMBER! Total diagnosis fee $300. Service advisor curtly says it is 14 hours labor to repair the starter and 14 hours to repair the leak. I knew there was significant overlap in the work replacing the 2 parts so I knew the labor rates were wrong. She stubbornly stuck to her position. I called another dealer and was quoted 14 hours for the starter and only 2 (TWO!) for the coolant pipe. A much more reasonable price. So what does the service advisor do? She calls the other dealer and tells him his price is too low. read more

After having decided on a Porsche Boxster and the options we wanted - most notably a manual transmission - we set about looking for our car. We visited multiple dealerships: Tysons, Arlington, Annapolis, Rockville and never found a manual transmission or a sales representative that could definitely answer our questions. These dealerships also all needed a 'build' from the factory and they were scarce around the metropolitan area - nobody had a 'build' and everyone told us we were going to have to wait till January under any realistic scenario. Frustrated and expanding our geographical search, we contacted Porsche Silver Spring -- they had a manual transmission Boxster on their lot and Casey Parkin entered our lives. More background. We had confirmed in our minds precisely what options our Boxster build would include. We used the Porsche website to build and determine a MSRP. We used USAA, Edmonds and a few other sites to determine a fair price based on actual sales. In short, we had done our homework; envisioned the final build; and were ready to order our Boxster. While completely secure in our decision, we wanted the opportunity to drive a manual transmission, if we could locate one. Casey Parkin had convinced his dealership to order a manual transmission and that Boxster was on their lot. Our desire and Casey's foresight aligned and we headed to Porsche - Silver Spring. Our Impressions. Casey is understanding. He placed his customer's needs first. He was inviting without being overly so - he clearly understood the distance between us and the dealership, the traffic involved during the evening commute, and that car shopping after dark is less than desirable. But we weren't shopping at this point - we wanted to drive a manual transmission and confirm our choice - knowing this particular Boxster did not have our specific options. But rather than wait for the weekend, we headed for the dealership to meet Casey. Casey is professional. He knows you can and in our case did go anywhere to buy a Porsche and is truly grateful of the time you've given him. He won't waste your time. He was ready for our test drive, sensing, showing, guiding us through the operation of a high-performance sports car. He made a proper introduction, showed us the operation, and then turned us loose on the dance floor. Our enthusiasm was matched by his genuine love for these fine machines. Casey is knowledgeable. He's able to explain the engineering details well beyond the requirements of the majority of most consumers and enthusiasts alike. While we had thoroughly done our homework, Casey offered just one change to our build and his explanation was sound. For months, we suffered through the guys who just felt this was right, or didn't even know that which they were promoting was actually included in the package. Indeed, much more than just sales options, Casey can explain the engineering break-in requirements for best performance years after the purchase. We got the feeling he was buying and telling us all about his new Boxster. Casey is fair, beating the average price paid from industry research websites. He is not the sales representative who has to constantly go back and forth to the sales manager with extended question and answer periods. He knows what is fair to the consumer and which maintains a reasonable profit for the dealership. The dealership trusts Casey and we did too. Bottom Line. We purchased our Porsche Boxster from Casey. He secured a factory build; he made us feel confident about our options; he beat our negotiating start point; and gained our trust throughout the whole process. I recently took my 2017 Cayenne GTS to this dealer for 20K maintenance and a flat tire. The initial coordination and intake was flawless. I was given a nice 2018 Macan loaner and my car was ready after 1 day. When I went to pick up my Cayenne it looked as if someone had wiped it down with a bag of sand. There were swirls marks all over the entire vehicle from the roof to the brake lights to the side panels. I'm a fairly serious car buff, so I personally detail all of my vehicles and had just recently clayed, polished and waxed my Cayenne. It was one of the most horrific things I had ever seen on one of my cars outside of being in a bad accident. All of this happened around the service departments closing time, so there were no managers onsite to address the issue and unfortunately the junior staff there did not seem equipped to handle a problem like this. They basically told me to take the care and call the service manager the next day. I was not comfortable with taking my vehicle in that condition and requested that they allow me to keep the loaner so that the car could remain with them until management arrived in the am. The situation at this point goes from bad to worse, as the staff members told me that I couldn't keep the loaner because they were reserved to other customers the next morning. They did eventually offer to take a video and pictures of the car before I left, but I still was not comfortable with taking it and ordered an Uber in order to leave the car there. After this back and forth with the staff for 10min or so a senior sales person (Scott Veneziani) came over and took control of the situation as I would expect from a Porsche dealership. He made some calls and then promptly gave me the keys back to the loaner and told me that this would be made right and that the service manager would be in touch first thing in the morning. The service director called me the next morning very apologetic and explained how they would fully detail the car in order to restore it back to it's original condition. I picked up my car two days later with it looking almost as good as new. Although I had a horrible experience with the junior staff on the initial pick up of my car, Scott and the Service director salvaged the situation and made me whole again by restoring my car. All in all, I certainly would not recommend allowing this dealer to wash your Porsche. I was never given an explanation as to what happened but I'm very concerned with a dealer that would allow something like this to happen to one of their customers vehicles. I also do not know that I will ever use them again for service. This was just something very unexpected coming from a Porsche dealership. read more

Casey provided a painless experience and accommodated my many questions in person and via email. Casey was prompt in responding to my questions and set realistic expectations on the timing for an allocation. He was also not quick to assume that I wasn't a serious buyer and just "trolling", unlike some other places. Casey made recommendations for the build but, he was never pushy, very low key. He's extremely knowledgeable but he also leverages PCNA resources when appropriate (i.e., he does;t feel compelled to make something up like some others that I've dealt with). I appreciated the openness. Due to the great experience, I'm heavily considering taking my car to Porsche Silver Spring for service and parts, even though I live in VA. What a great first time out of state car purchase experience! My Porsche sales specialist was Casey Parkin and he made the process very easy. I purchased my 2008 Cayman S without seeing it in person and relied completely on Casey's description of the vehicle. He was as critical, if not more, as I would have been. When I receive the vehicle here in Texas it was in the exact condition that Casey described. It was, in fact, as good, if not better than, what I had expected. This dealership has poor customer service and looks to over-charge for diagnostic services on their previous work done less than one year ago. Their lack of explanations and "up-front" customer service leads to problems later that they then deny or blame the customer. They consistently do not offer solutions that should be considered before charging the customer "again" for the same service. I have spent over $2,000 on repairs on one car and I am treated as if I walked in off the street. Natalie, the service manager, has poor customer service skills. I had been researching the base model of the Porsche Macon since February of this year and thought it would be slightly over my budget. I decided to look for a certified pre-owned model, but found they were few and far between in this area. Finally, in June two arrived at the Porsche of Silver Spring dealership. I contacted them through their website about one in particular. I was quickly contacted by Xeni Deshishku, Internet Sales Specialist/Manager, who advised me my inquiry had been received and sent me the vehicle packet for the car. We continued correspondence via email the next day. Xeni answered all of the questions I had and set up an appointment to take a look at the car and give it a test drive. Upon arrival my wife and I were met promptly by Xeni. He immediately explained that the certified car unfortunately sold the night before, but he had prepared the other similar certified car as well as a new one for me to see. The other certified car did not have all the options I was looking for, but the new one had everything I was looking for and he promised he could work a good deal on it. After a thorough explanation of the Macan, roughly a 30 minute tutorial inside the car on all the "bells and whistles", Xeni answered any and every question we had and also added excellent input on why things were designed the way they were. On to the test drive and I was sold. What a fantastic experience. We both had to get back to work that day otherwise the deal would have been completed at that time. The sales manager did an appraisal on my trade-in and I was prepared to negotiate for what I knew was a good price because of all the research I had done. I was happily surprised to have him come back very close to my number and after a brief conversation he matched what I wanted. With that part done we were offered an excellent price on the Macan and the deal was complete. We returned the next day for delivery. We met with Prashant Paul, Finance Director to finalize all of the paperwork and necessary finance documentation. Prashant did a thorough job of explaining anything we had questions about and made the final part of the deal just as seamless as the rest of our purchasing experience. I cannot express enough how happy I am with my experience at Porsche of Silver Spring. The customer service that I received there, when I purchased my new car was a "Red Carpet " experience. The process from the beginning to end was flawless. Kevin, my salesperson was friendly, genuine and very informative. He explained every gadget on my new car and helped me make the final decision about my purchase without pressuring me. I had test driven a vehicle about a month prior, with Kevin but wasn't quite certain that I was ready to purchase. Own a Cayenne. Great car and was happy with the sales process but am tired of getting simple service for things like an oil change on Porsche's terms. Feel like things like that should be on my terms/schedule. so I find things like taking the car In for an oil change and needing to schedule a service appointment weeks in advance to be not worth the hassle. read more
