Our fav salad. Just simple oil. Vinegar. And salt.

My husband and I found this gem randomly, and we have been returning. The food is genuine, and the seafood is FRESH. It's not upscale and fancy but the place has a homely vibe. I much prefer the simple salad this place offers than any places in the city.

Finally able to check this place out, as we've driven by it hundreds of times. It did not disappoint! When you first walk in. It looks like a bar with some TVs and about 3 tables to sit. The tables were all taken, so j was ready to sit on the bar, but we opted for the back dining area. It's a smallish room that had about 6 more tables. We started with some bread for the table while we were perusing the menu. They also have a pretty good list of Fay specials, which is also posted to the facebook page each day, so I checked there as well. We ordered lots of different fish specials. Everything was good well, flavorful, but not too salty. And portions are healthy. The clams were huge!! And the first seafood dish had soooo many pieces of seafood. I also loved that I could swap my side of rice for a nice vegetable mix of carrots and broccoli rabe that would well cooked! I also ordered cappuccino and espresso which were very good. We will probably try this for takeout soon too.

If you are looking for a local place that has great food and service this is the place. Don't judge a book by its cover when you walk in it's a step back in time has a feel like you're in an old bar in Queens somewhere which I love. Just close your eyes and dig in to the great food.

We've driven by this seedy looking restaurant for years and thought about trying it but never have. Tonight we finally did and we are really glad we did. This is not a fancy place. Outside looks run down. The front bar is not the nicest, but in back is a nice little dining room. Again, not the fanciest, but clean and homey. We sat in back and the waitress was delightful explaining the menu and the specials. We decided against appetizers and had a small pitcher of red sangria. It was a lot lighter than most sangrias. I'm not saying that as a negative. It was extremely refreshing and did not send me to the floor. It was a great sangria to enjoy with dinner. Dinner was a seafood paella and the ox tail stewed special. Both were very good. The seafood in the paella was excellently cooked and the dish had that great taste that a good paella should. The ox tail stew was also very good. A small "complaint" is that it probably could have stewed longer so the gelatin could have broken down more. Otherwise it was very good. The meat was tender and tasty. I don't understand why there aren't more reviews for here and I definitely don't understand why we were the only people in the dining room. I'm looking forward to coming back!

We go out alot and no matter how many other places we try we always come back and are never disappointed, shrimp and garlic sauce app is a must and pick any of the specials you will be pleased. everything is cooked to order so be patient, its worth it. also there is seating in the back if you dont want to sit by the bar. any of my friends i bring there ultmitly head back on there own,

This place is the bomb...or better stated it was hit by a bomb! Upon entering on a 3 degree Saturday night, our first reaction was to turn around and leave...couldn't be the same place the Yelp reviews referred to....well we stayed ...found a table and looked around at the lack of ambiance and the bar crowd whooping it up over the games on tv. This is a local Portugese Bar that serves food as an after thought. Had to keep coats on due to heat not being on..was ice cold in there! Ordered two Stella Beers on tap. Tasted them and they were skunky spoiled taste. Sent them back and got Bud Lite...better but not much.. For appys we ordered Sautéed Shrimp in garlic butter sauce..was good with lots of sauce to dip bread. Also got Caesars salad..crunchy lettuce drenched in sauce...could have been prepared better! For mains we went with Prime Rib for Bonnie and the special Mixed Seafood in garlic sauce over pasta for me. When they brought out the Prime Rib it looked like a rib steak on the bone....tasted more like steak then PR. The Portuguese chips on the plate were saturated with oil and not good to eat. My combo seafood was also ok...had tiny mussels, scallops the size of a pencil eraser. A few clams and several shrimp....pasta and sauce were good. Nothing was outstanding or even really good. A real killer was the price of a glass of soda $3.50...honest! I appreciate a dive bar but this place really surprised us...should have followed first instinct and turned around and left....

I had a expresso martini with Bailey 's and my son had the red sangria and a Shirley Temple for the the teen granddaughter all drinks were great ! Appetizers were crispy calamari ( so crispy) Wagyu meatballs,General Harry's cauliflower (honey glazed ) it was good and I'm not a fan of cauliflower ! I had the braised short rib with mashed potatoes sooo tender and creamy whipped fresh potatoes , granddaughter had the Double Berkshire pork chop ( big and juicy tender chop) with mashed sweet potato's my son had Le Poulet cajun chicken with hand cut large fries delicious !! Apple crumble Dessert & vanilla ice cream had to be taken home along with 4 other bags ! The first time I came here was with my child for brunch. I got a mocktail and we ordered chicken and waffles along the unadvertised kids menu containing chicken fingers and fries. Portions for both dishes were generous and took home the leftovers. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the infamois complimentary bread, which were really good. The second and most recent time we went was for dinner with the a huge group of moms. We shared the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and general two's cauliflower, which was amazing. I had the red sangria and a taste of the Huckleberry lemonade, drinks were strong. For the entrees I ordered the salmon and once again portion was huge, took it home and the hubby ate the leftovers. Other moms ordered the frose, spicy paloma, le poulet and spicy Rigatoni. At the end we had key lime pie which tasted great but I was too full to finish it. I'll be coming to this spot more often because of great company and food!

The new hostess and the greeting by Phillipe could not have made us feel any more welcome. We were offered a choice of seating and while we love the look and feel of the back patio it was a bit too cool and breezy out there.... We decided to sit in the front room as it is generally quieter and more low key. There were many larger groups with celebrations and you could see they were all having a good time. Our waiter Luis, came and introduced himself, brought our menus and inquired about water, drinks, etc. We told him we wanted only pumpernickel rolls: they are warm, fresh out of the oven and truly addictive. Our waters and my white Zinfandel arrived shortly thereafter. Our fresh goat cheese salad arrived with the raspberry vinaigrette and as always it was carefully divided. Luis came to check on everything as he and other staff members ( both members who we know through dining here repeatedly over the years) and new additions. Everyone always treats you like family. Very good pacing of the meal.... Nice and leisurely, not rushed but no long breaks between courses. Then our main dishes arrived. My husband had the pappardelle with mixed seafood, no sausage- plentiful and loaded with flavor. I get the shrimp a La Rodos.... 5 very nice sized shrimp with with lots of diced fresh tomatoes and feta cheese, served with my 2 favorite side dishes- mashed potatoes and beets.... All YUMMY and very generous portions. My husband's Stella Artois arrives in a nice cold glass with the main dish, as requested. Luis again checks on everything and then shortly thereafter we get the surprise of the evening. Peter, the new owner stops by and chats with us. It was a pleasure to meet him: we are sure he is very busy running back and forth between his two restaurants. and making sure that everything is going smoothly. We had a lot to talk about. Well, he has a tough act to follow but so far the food, service and hospitality are still 5 star !!! We ended our meal on a high note. A FABULOUS meal has to end on a sweet note. We were offered about 5 or 6 dessert choices. We selected the chocolate mousse cake. A rich, creamy sweet conclusion to a superb meal served by a warm, caring staff. Everyone including Luis, Felipe and the new hostess gave us a fond Farewell on the way out. We eagerly look forward to returning after their vacation at the beginning of August !! Congratulations, Peter, Phillipe and staff !

While waiting at the bar for a friend to arrive, I was swarmed by fruit flies, which should have been my first warning sign. The pours at the bar were skimpy, but I tried to shake it off once we got our table. The service there was actually friendly, and our server proudly told us the duck was a top seller, so we ordered it along with a salad and a fish dish. Most of what came out of the kitchen was diner quality at best--nothing special, but not offensive. The duck, however, was a disaster. It tasted old and stale, like it had been sitting in a freezer for months before being rushed through a fryer. The meat was fried to a dry, brittle crisp, and the only flavor came from a cloying sweet duck sauce slapped on top. No richness, no tenderness, no redeeming qualities. We absolutely hated our meal and the entire time we spent there. I can't recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about what they eat.
