The breakfast sandwiches here are absolutely delicious! The buns are so soft, the egg is perfectly seasoned and the side salsa is a perfect addition! I am super picky about my eggs and this place knows how to cook them so they are still moist. My husband got the sandwich with the pulled pork and the pickles complemented the sandwich nicely! The service was friendly and super fast! We were there on a Friday morning so we were glad there wasn't a long line, as mentioned on several reviews. The indoor space is small but clean and bright. I definitely recommend this place!

I finally got to experience this breakfast and coffee spot! I've been walking by it for months now because I live down the block. This place did not disappoint. I highly recommend that you arrive early in the morning because the line to order and to get in goes out the door. I don't think this is a problem in the warmer months because there's so outdoor dining space but on a cold Winter day, it is not ideal. I enjoyed my chai latte plus my breakfast sandwich. I want to make this my causal, cozy, slow morning weekend spot!

Love love their breakfast sandwiches! They use such high quality ingredients to really make quality food. Note that on weekends the line can be long, as well as the wait. They also make quality iced coffee drinks and have a cute patio to enjoy on. Try and hit them in off hours and enjoy one of their amazing breakfast sandos!

5 resounding stars for an egg, cheese, and avocado breakfast sandwich that hit the spot in a way I couldn't have predicted. (And much shorter lines than the stalls at Denver Central Market.) We headed over to Port Side after seeing the line for breakfast sandwiches at Denver Central Market and checking Yelp. Once again, we were not led astray. Port Side has outdoor seating as well as limited indoor seating. If you wait around, you're likely to find an indoor table if it's a bit chilly outside. We opted for the egg and cheese sandwich with avocado added and when it came it didn't look super special. Holy cow it was amazing though! Every bite led to the next and before I knew it I had scarfed the whole thing down. My sister asked for hot sauce on the side and said that I had to mention it in my review because it seemed homemade and was outstanding. Overall, a great breakfast spot in an awesome location, that's definitely less touristy and worth visiting!

Everything was so amazing ! Food, service and the whole vibe was great. Definitely coming back !

If you're looking for a cozy, classic cafe that knows how to make an espresso drink and delicious small dishes, this is your place and certainly is mine. First, I don't know how long it's on the menu, but The Duke sandwich will blow your mind and taste buds! GO GET ONE OF THESE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE! It's a pulled pork sandwich that has obviously marinated in a spectacular season palette to the point where the meat actually melts in your mouth. The pickles on this thing are a perfect match along with a small pile of fresh baby kale. I ordered it on a whim and, wow, I can't imagine why there wasn't a line out of the front door just for this sandwich, I'm not joking. Go get one...right now. The barrista who was making our espresso drinks did so with artisan skills and it was exceptionally made. So the location, it's almost the size of an extra large walk in closet and seating inside is for only about 25 people, and that would be tight. There is more seating outside on the front patio and of course gettingsomething to go is an option. We went here on a Wednesday morning for breakfast but ended up getting there closer to 10:30 and there were only 4 other patrons there so we had a great experience. I hope this place is doing well because I would like to know that a niche coffee shop can still survive for long in this day and age. If they advertise The Duke sandwich and keep it consistent, I'm sure this would become a national chain, LOL!...no, seriously. Go Get One This Minute!

I've lived less than a half a mile from port side for 2.5 years and I tried them out for the first time today. I am so sad that I didn't stop by earlier. The duke breakfast sandwich was absolutely delicious. The potato bun was perfection and so were the eggs, pulled pork, pickles and arugula. Their coffee? Amazing! I am a simple guy when it comes to coffee. Oat milk vanilla iced latte - outstanding! Their spot is very cute and everyone was so so friendly. Service was amazing too. You can find me there tomorrow morning with my dog for round two.

The inside is cozy! Few corner booths but limited seating. They have front patio so you can bring your dog but it is shaded in the morning. They have lunch and breakfast with veggie options. Seemed high quality! They sell their hot sauce which is actually really good and pretty hot. The staff was really nice and helped recommend some items since it was our first time. Didn't try the coffee but it looked good!

It's official. I have finally found my favorite spot in all of Denver. If Yelp had a higher rating - it would for sure go to port side. Upon entering, your hit with great customer service. The price point is excellent. The food is seriously phenomenal. All fresh, delish, and hot. We got to chat with, I believe to be, the chef and he was the nicest human. He even took the time to write down some recommendations of other places to try near by. 10000% will be back soon to taste more of the menu. I'm eyeing that grilled cheese HEAVY! Only downside is parking is a tad difficult so scoot or walk on over to save your self the rino parking headache.

This is the perfect spot for a delicious egg sandwich and a latte. The place isn't too big so you may have to wait a little because it is very popular!!!

Wow! It's been a couple of months living in the Denver area so far, and we have been pretty disappointed in a lot of the food here. That recently changed with a trip to Port Side. Located in RiNo (or Five Points, still learning areas) this cool little coffee shop has phenomenal coffee, some of the best food around our apartment, and a great atmosphere. My partner got the Truck Stop with avocado, I had one bite and I have been thinking about eating a whole one myself ever since. I got the Bacon Burrito (also with avocado) and it was truly one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had, and that's saying something coming from someone who lived in Texas 30+ years. The sauce they include with the burrito is soooo good, I want to take home a gallon of it. We are dying to go back, and to try every single thing on the menu. Customer service was also top notch, very friendly staff. We got into good conversation with one of the main employees, who I had to immediately brag about everything we experienced- especially food wise not having a lot of spots to enjoy in Denver thus far. He returned a few minutes later with a list of places to go to that he liked, and we will definitely be taking his recommendations because if they are as great as Port Side...oh man that is exciting. Thanks for reading one of my first Yelp reviews, here's to many more!

This review was long overdue! We love Port Side it's our favorite local coffee shop and while all their food is amazing the bacon breakfast burrito with green chili is a consistent favorite. The perfect spot to grab a latte and very friendly staff. Neighborhood gem in RiNo! There's usually a wait on the weekends but not too bad on weekdays.

Businessmen getting breakfast before a meeting, young couples, and friend groups would all feel comfortable dining here. Breakfast was delicious and came out quickly. Upon doing so, you notice they've added two unusual changes -- a 2% "restaurant impact fee" and a 1% "kitchen staffing fee." We were told that the fee helps pay the kitchen staff because the wait staff doesn't share tips with them. We asked to have it removed and were told it cannot be removed. This is a problem based on principle and nothing else. There are costs associated with running a business. Pay your employees properly so that these fees don't need to be added. Be honest about it -- increase the cost of menu items if necessary -- but don't add HIDDEN fees! It makes you look slimy and dishonest. At the very least, remove the fees when your customers don't want to pay them. This really pales our opinion of this place. It's irritating and embarrassing for everyone, including the wait staff who have to explain the fees to the patrons, and in this case, receive a smaller tip.

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.
