Didn't really care for the coffee used - too burnt for my taste and initially the milk had not been steamed. They poured from the wrong container and had to redo. The drink was tinged with a slight amaretto taste. Don't know how that happened, but suspect a container or stirrer had not been adequately rinsed. I'll not be back. read more

This cafe is conveniently located right by Wells Fargo building and is great to get a pick-me-up such as coffee or breakfast. I ordered the Sicilian Royale on Rustic Roll which came with egg, salami, provolone, hot giardiniera, and cream cheese. The sandwich was pretty good! It was packed with much meat and the cheese paired perfectly. The sandwich did have oily drippings but that can easily be wiped off with a napkin. I come here often since I work close. The service is always friendly, the coffee is always good, and I like the huge variety of coffee/tea/espresso drink options! The americano always hits the spot, but today I tried the blackberry sage black tea latte with almond milk - so delicious! Great with an extra tea bag too as it amps up the flavor. Turns out there may be a connection, as the Denver owner was aiming to franchise a while back. The beans aren't the same in the two cities, but both locations aim to make a quality caffeinated beverage. There are snacks and pastries if you need a bite to eat with your brew (they are fine), but the focus here is the coffee and espresso. It's convenient and far better than the multi-national chain coffees in the vicinity. read more

Very unimpressed. I've had better breakfast sandwiches at Mickey D's (which I haven't been to in years) at ONE FORTH the cost. I had a bacon/egg/tomato sand which. Everything was pre-cooked and microwaved. The food wasn't "bad" but was cafeteria-grade. I was looking for a new place to have lunch on the Mall and came across this place as I was meandering down 16th. It is a quaint coffee/deli shop. I was in the mood for lunch so after a quick peruse of their menu which is quite extensive for a small coffee shop. I decided on a Super Turkey Club on wheat toast. Short wait and I was on my way. I was nicely surprised that the bacon was super crispy, not too much mayo. Not overloaded with turkey, just enough. I'm feeling like Goldie Locks right now, just right... This was a quick coffee stop off that made my day brighter. Friendly staff that was impressed with my coffee selection-automatic warm fuzzies. I'll admit, when they said they had good decaf, I raised my eyebrow. I know I'm the oddball for drinking decaf, but there are truly mostly poor quality choices. This was not one of them. I will say, it felt like there was a bit more caffeine than I'm used to, but the roast was delicious. If I find myself in that part of town again, I'll definitely be stopping by to support this small business looking to make it in today's world. read more

I had previously said they were overpriced (TRUE) and UMB was a better deal with the same quality (STILL TRUE) and as I waited for a bagel sandwich with two co-workers the manager was actually yelling at me, from behind the counter, "You're on Yelp right?!? Today the owner/manager scolded me in front of my colleagues because I asked that my pastry be warmed up on a plate. When they warm it in a bag, the icing or topping ends up on the inside of the bag instead of on the pastry. I was informed that the plates were there for the $8 sandwiches. I spent over $9 between my pastry and sandwich, not to mention I convinced my colleagues to spend their money here instead of at Starbucks. Awkward conversation. At first, I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. I have been going to this place for 3 yrs for breakfast sandwiches as well as lunch. The food has always been great and most of the time the staff is very friendly. But from now on my money will be going to Starbucks and all because of scolding a customer about a plate that probably costs a couple cents. read more

I went in this morning for an iced coffee, and got two shots of espresso with ice. I'm not sure how you can justify doing this, as I've worked at a coffee shop myself and think it's quite courageous to hand someone espresso with ice and think they won't notice. The gentleman poured the two shots in and proceeded to fill the cup with ice until the espresso rose in level, trying to pull it off as ice coffee. When he first handed me my cup, before the liquid moved into the ice, the cup was about halfway full. I asked "Is this ice coffee?" "Yes," he said. I said "I didn't want room for cream," trying to see if he'd admit it was espresso and then he asked "Do you want me to fill the rest with water?" Who in their right mind has ever asked a customer to fill the rest of their "iced coffee" up with water. You must be thinking "Why didn't I say something," that is because I felt so awkward, I didn't want to call the poor kid out. It would've made me feel uncomfortable seeing the look on his face after he got caught, but I am 100% certain I did not receive iced coffee this morning. read more

I like Tuscany's. They seem to have a good (and large) array of coffee and teas (both hot and iced), and a good menu of half/whole breakfast/lunch sandwiches ranging anywhere from $3-$8. Drinks are not ridiculously priced-- their regular coffee is tasty to me (tall: $1.50), and they serve pastries/bagels, AND Chobani Greek Yogurt-- such a healthy option! My first time there, I got their iced carmel latte (think Starbucks carmel macchiato) and though it was delish, I think I should have just opted for the latte (the carmel was too sweet for me). As for service (and life), it's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes, you get the girl who just wants to give you your coffee and change back. Other times, you get the dude who compliments your Hello Kitty credit card and recommends you get the hot instead of iced drink. Just a good, honest, quiet-morning type of coffee shop, but not much for anything else (like talks, meet up's, or studying). Imagine it to be a small joint for you to read the morning newspaper in solitude (with coffee in hand, of course). read more

Why have I never heard of a tea latte before? Maybe Tuscany isn't the only place who has thought of this wonderful drink, but they are the first to introduce me to this--my new favorite drink--great alternative to chai for those of us who don't like coffee caffeine. So, it's just tea steeped in a minimal amount of water, topped with steamed milk. They carry republic of tea flavors and my favorite so far has been the ginger peach tea latte. Do yourself a favor and sooth your stomach with this gentle, soothing drink. Other than my new favorite drink, I've had their chai, which is good but nothing special. Also tried their bagel with cream cheese, good. All in all, the employees are sweet and not pretentious. If you go in often, you can load up a gift card for easy swiping. read more

Nice cozy coffee shop situated in a high rise building but it's on the bottom floor. Their menu is a little saturated and confusing but the staff is nice enough to help you with it. They have an excellent array of pastries and bagels and a wonderful assortment of teas. It's very affordable and a step away from the conglomerate coffee houses with a true taste of home. read more
