It's an excellent tour!!! The check in is a kiosk with red parasol at the end of the Tropics Bar & Grill at Hilton Hawaiian Village. I just needed to tell my name. It was easy check in at the kiosk. We were handed the boarding ticket stubs and told us to wait aside. Captain Nick, Staff Collyne and Tiffany were all approachable. Collyne was always with us in the ocean, so I felt safe. I highly recommend it. It's the best season for Snorkel in Waikiki now. We saw a bunch of fish and turtles. The big bonus we saw was 7 x Dolphins (I know it's not usually happen)! It's easy and walking access from hotels in Waikiki. You don't need to go to a harbor (15 minutes by car from Waikiki). Turtle Canyon is close to the center of Waikiki anyway. It's the best snorkel tour in Waikiki, Turtle Canyon. read more

Captain Chris, Jessy and Tiffany were AWESOME. We went on the snorkel and lunch tour in the catamaran. Very comfortable, saw so many sea turtles. The lunch was a turkey wrap and chips, simple but tasty after a swim. If you're expecting anything fancy, you will be dissatisfied, but it was perfect for us. Two free drinks per ticket. Went on the sunset cruise. Third visit for us. Other two were fantastic. This one fell way short. For a two hour cruise, they cut off early and we came in 40 minutes before we were supposed to. No explanation - just ended the cruise like that was normal. Never mentioned that we were supposed to grab our dinner box from the table. When we asked when we arrived back in port, they said we could grab one on our way out. Really?? Other couples disembarking were also very disappointed. We won't be booking from them again. Joined Port Waikiki Cruises for a sunset cruise on September 30, 2023 and had a great time. The captain was friendly, the crew was friendly and attentive, and the boar was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Included with our ticket were two adult beverages and a bento box containing two sandwiches, which were very tasty. What a day! Everyone is so happy and nice. I saw so many turtles. I don't know what it is about them but they are so calm and peaceful; you can just float and check them out while they just drift with the flow of the water. Zen. Captain Nick made sure we were all safe; he knows his stuff. Josiah floated in the background making sure everything went smoothly. I signed up and paid for what I thought was a dinner sunset cruise, and it wasn't that! I even called to make sure we were going to get a dinner and the lady I spoke over the phone said yes and begin to tell me the items on the menu. This was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted it to be special. We were in Chicago for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and took a Dinner Cruise on Lake Michigan and it was a very nice, well organized Dinner Cruise...and we ate a buffet style dinner in the boat with about 50 to 60 other couples. It was for adults only. This Sunset Cruise was not as advertised and in my opinion overpriced for what you get. I knew I signed up for the wrong cruise when we were asked to take our shoes off before boarding the vessel. Then I realized this wasn't going to be a nice, romantic ride with my wife of 25 years as the captain was giving us a briefing before heading out into the waters. He was energetic and funny, great personality, just not what I was expecting. He talked about the boxes that were on the table which contained our meal for the cruise. A box with 2 chicken sliders. I thought we were going to get a nice dinner. We were on a sail boat, the ride was bumpy, which didn't leave much room to walk around freely like on a cruise ship or even the boat we were on in Chicago. Nonetheless, me and my wife made the best of our experience. The captain and his crew were very attentive to our needs and safety. Once I got the nerve to stand up and walk around, I took pictures and even had one of the crew members take pictures of us with the sun setting behind us. Overall, even though this is not what I expected, we made the best of it and thank the Lord we made it safely back to shore. Thus I give the rating of a 3. Never will I do this again. Be sure to read the fine print and talk to someone to make sure you know what you're signing up for. There was another couple on the boat that thought this was going to be a dinner cruise on a nicer boat and not a cocktail cruise with a box containing 2 chicken sliders. Based upon the recommendation of the Concierge of Hilton Grand Vacations, I booked this sunset cocktail cruise. Sometimes things happen that are beyond the control of the business -- outdoor activities get rained out, electric outages, etc. These events are disappointing, but understandable. But a cocktail cruise where the boat has stalled 3 times in the first 45 minutes is/should be within the control of the operator. I guess the coast guard inspection doesn't include the engine! Add to that the fact that the crew doesn't know how to make the cocktails they advertise -- again within the operator's control. The alternative to cocktails was advertised as beer or wine. There was no wine on the boat. Again within the control of the operator. So this cruise, booked with the recommendation and backing of the Hilton Brand (must be so since Hilton appears on their sail) was not functional, nor well stocked nor staffed by people with knowledge of how to mix any of the 5 cocktails posted on the board. To refund our fare would be the most appropriate action the company could take. read more

what an epic adventure!! we did the turtle snorkeling trip as a family. my 2 8 year olds were a little nervous but the guides were so helpful and kind. Ashley was so sweet and made my son feel really comfortable and safe. the guides let my him hold on to the rescue float and pointed out fish and turtles to him! Marco(I think that was his name) dove down and brought back a sea urchan and let them hold it! drinks were great, lunch was refreshing. the crew was helpful when the kids started feeling a little queezy. We participated in this cruise as the start of my cousin's bachelor party and boy what a great way to start it out! The catamaran was so cool, there was plenty of room for everyone, the staff was helpful and very friendly, and the views were breathtaking. We even saw a sea turtle at the end! The staff made it so fun and made some pretty good drinks to boot. The appetizers were not great, but that is not why we were on the cruise. It was a relaxing and easy cruise right off the pier and around Diamond Head. The sunset views were beautiful. I would highly recommend taking a sunset Waikiki Sail on the Spirit of Aloha. We also decided to do a Sea Turtle Snorkel with them a couple days later. It was a great snorkel trip on one of their other catamarans. We took the first one of the day and I highly recommend that. We had the popular reef to ourselves and it was relaxing and beautiful. We saw more than 5 turtles and plenty of fish. We were in the water for over an hour and it was so much fun. I loved every moment of the cruise. We had a peaceful ride out to the reef and on the way back Plus some tasty drinks!). The crew was friendly and helpful. From start the finish, the crew of four did a fantastic job with the cruise for my family and me. Their instructions were clear before we entered the water and the boat and equipment they gave us was clean and in good working order. Having never snorkeled, the crew made sure we knew what we were doing...even with my eleven-year-old son. Once we entered the water, they made sure everyone was ready to go as we made our way over to the reef where we saw lots of fish and, as advertised, sea turtles. My son was so into the experience, he tracked a sea turtle and was lucky when it surfaced 7-8 feet from him--truly a lifetime experience. After our time in the water, they fed us well and took us for a sail to look for humpback whales, which we saw. All-in-all an amazing experience thanks to a great crew. read more

This was the perfect 2 1/2 hour adventure. There were 6 of us. 3 adults and kids 7, 10 and 13. After boarding and getting an overview we set immediately to a place to snorkel with the turtles. So majestic under the water. I had done this one other time but it seemed like the first time. So cool. We had delicious drinks and snacks. Then set sail which was again amazing. There were decent swells and the boat was full sail through the blue water. We wanted to see whales... and we did. Several humpbacks spouted water and we saw a tail emerge. And now a note about the crew: Mash, Brad, Mason and Vinnie. This group of guys was FUN, they knew their stuff and it was clear they enjoy life. They truly made the trip. The boat is practically brand new and beautiful. We had 25 people or so on board. The boat can take many more and I felt lucky it was a smaller group of us. read more

The reservation was for 8 adults and 1 infant for the turtle snorkeling experience; we went in December 2021. Overall, the snorkeling experience was short and subpar. We traveled about 10 minutes from the shore, so really not too far, and we saw a handful of fish. It's important to note that we did not go to a reef so you won't be seeing hundreds of fish so definitely temper your expectations. We did see two turtles swimming which was great to see but overall, the views were very underwhelming compared to my other snorkeling experiences in Hawaii. Quality wise, out of the 3 snorkeling trips I've done in Hawaii, this was by far the worst. When I initially called, I was told that we would be snorkeling for almost the entirety of the trip but in reality I was in the water for less than 30 minutes - granted, I entered the water towards the end of the group so total snorkeling time was maybe about 45 minutes absolute MAX. We returned on board for subpar food (one wrap + chips) and my expectation was that we would snorkel afterwards. Turns out this was not the case and as a result, one person in my party didn't get a chance to snorkel at all (she was taking care of the infant and was planning on switching off but because the trip was so short, she didn't get to snorkel at all). We ended up "sailing" around for the next 1 hr+ which was not enjoyable and just motion sickness inducing - and not just for me, but I saw many folks on the boat seemed uncomfortable as well. The crew was just ok. They were doing their job but really not much more than that in terms of interacting with the passengers and getting them excited. The captain had raised his voice at one of the passengers for not listening several times but turns out that passenger did not speak English and while the captain did later apologize, the whole exchange was a bit aggressive. Overall, we did not really have a good time especially for the price paid. It was about $178 all in with taxes and for that price, you can definitely have a better snorkeling experience elsewhere. read more

Have you ever been swimming with turtles? In Hawaii? I have. I know, right? Right outside of our hotel there was this little booth to sign up for tours. The young lady at the booth was SUPER nice - we chatted her up and she told us she was an extra in a bunch of films....we joked she was a celebrity every time we passed by. She was a great sport. We signed up the day before, and reserved our time. When we got there the next day, we paid and off we were to the boat. They take you not very far from the sand, but it is a little nook where they have a couple of protected turtles. The day we were out the waters were a little rough and the currents strong. It was a little funny (and at times terrifying) to see my bud, who didn't know how to swim, fighting the currents. He's in great shape and was struggling at times. Haha we made it through and had a much deserved drink when we got back on board - more on that later. Swim was from 1:30 - 3pm. In total you spend about 1 hour in the actual ocean, the rest of the time is coming and going from the dock. In total you'll see about 5 turtles - and plenty of fish. A couple of the turtles are pretty big - and while you can't get TOO close, you get close enough to see them up close and personal when they come up for air. We had two guides with us and they were diving down, pulling up a uni, starfish, and sea snail. They let folks touch and inspect them up close. You can dive down too, if you're brave. I thought I could make it pretty deep, but nope. I shot right back up haha. The tour included 2 drinks. You can only drink them after the dive - so chug them up while you're headed back to the dock. We had some really nice (strong) rum punches the captain made for us. We took them down and were feeling REALLY nice as we got back to the beach. The staff overall was great. As I mentioned the girl at booth was super nice - and the entire crew on the boat was awesome too. They explained all the safety stuff - in a fun way - and made the dive super enjoyable. Great experience, and really glad we got to fit it in, even though it meant cutting a food tour short to make it on time. The sacrifices we must make, I guess. read more

This was seriously one of the best experiences I've ever had! Nash and the crew made us feel so safe with our snorkeling adventure, and also were extremely accommodating to whatever we needed. They were all so knowledgable about the ocean life and sailing and really knew how to keep us entertained. Even with the COVID regulations, it really felt like we got to see a fun side of island life and it was like stepping away from the rest of the world for a little while. Served buffet "tapas" style, so that you can mingle and enjoy the buffet how you want, where you want, and as much as you care to eat on a relaxed barefoot cruise. You have the best seat in the house for the Hilton fireworks display. MENU: Macadamia nut crusted fish, crab cakes with tropical fruit salsa, roasted vegetables, hummus with pita chips, teriyaki chicken, assorted mini cheesecake. Unlimited nonalcohol beverages. 2 free bar drink tickets per adult; $1 beer/$2 mixer extras." First off, this is a pretty short trip - and the timing (at least in January) was terrible. Sunset was about 15 minutes after the cruise started. So they turned up the engine and zoomed out away from the beach, hitting tons of big waves along the way. The ship was bouncing up and down, making photography VERY difficult. And then, not much else. We didn't go up and down the coast - I thought we'd at least sail down towards Diamond Head or something, but the boat pretty much stayed in one place, and then started heading back to shore when the fireworks started. Disappointing. But the biggest disappointment was the food. There was absolutely nothing "gourmet" about it. Going down the menu: "Macadamia nut crusted fish" - cold, no taste of macadamia nuts "crab cakes with tropical fruit salsa" - cold, big cakes, cut in half, tasted of bread and peppers, no crab in sight "roasted vegetables, hummus with pita chips" - fine, nothing "gourmet" about this of course "teriyaki chicken" - also cold, not very tasty "assorted mini cheesecake" - cut into maybe 3/4" squares, clearly frozen None of this was even good. And frankly, it's insulting given the insane pricing for this cruise. If you're a drinker, you may enjoy this cruise more - two free bar drink tickets, plus they bought the first round for you as well. But we don't drink. And we left the ship hungry.
