This cute spot was across the street from the Marriott we were staying at so 4 of us went for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was cute and fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was a pro and had some fun energy. But the place was busy abd he was THE only waiter. Others brought out the food and cleared the table but he still had his hands full trying to cover entire restaurant but was a pro abd did it admirably. We started with stuffed mushrooms and they were excellent! They were the best thing we ordered. The food we saw being brought out from the kitchen all looked good. Beautiful plates. Our problem was the food disappointed big time with food temp a major problem. I had eggplant rollatini and was really looking forward to it. Part were hot but most were warm (I like hot food). The vegetables were cold - not even warm! (But supposed to be hot). Very little eggplant - I think 2 thin pieced but lots of cheese and pasta. It looked good but I needed to search for eggplant and found little. My desert was frozen tiramisu which should have a fresh soft texture when on, but this had icicles and was anything but fresh and soft. My colleague had canolis and didn't like them at all - crème was off. Of the 4 of us - none thought the entrees were great, and all were served less than hot. Surprisingly our appy and entrees came out quickly. We shared the mushrooms so we each had 1 (they were huge and excellent!) but before we could eat 1 mushroom the entrees came out. Maybe slow the entree down by a few minutes to get them hot first! We had a couple drinks and our waiter was fun. It was a quick walk across the street so super convenient and a fun meal for us even though the food disappointed.

Discovered this Italian restaurant adjacent to the Renaissance Hotel Richardson. The Dart station is nearby for travel to downtown Dallas to the south or Plano to the North ( end of the line). Had a terrific dinner for four. The bar is well stocked and easy to sit at. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is outside and patio seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is welcoming and the red decor is breathtaking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have live music too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started off with mixed drinks and wine choices. First service was soft buttery rolls with a dipping sauce of extra virgin olive oil infused with garlic, herbs , and feta cheese. Ordered a small cheese pizza as appetizer for four. One of the most delicious pizzas I've tasted. House Salad with delicious homemade vinaigrette Main course choices were: Lasagna Bolognese Tortellini Di Formaggio Eggplant Rollatini Stuffed mushrooms with crab, shrimp, and brandy tomato cream sauce. Dessert : Tiramisu Crème Brulee [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you love Italian food and fine dining in a romantic setting, this is your place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servings are ample and take home is encouraged. I definitely recommend this restaurant, See you there soon!

Stopped in with a few coworkers while in town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Easy to make a reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location and plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff is kind, restaurant clean and food prepared well[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I ordered the short rib ravioli and the flavors were more than good. Loved the tenderness of the short rib and the sauce was perfect. Truly enjoyed my meal. We also tried the chocolate mousse cake and it was decadent!

Upon arrival, my friend and I were waiting to be seated as there were no host to greet us. We had 3-4 waiters/host pass us by before they acknowledged us and seated us. When we were seated we didn't know who our server was as we had 3 different people come up to us, which left a bad taste. As for the food, it was good, just wished the pasta ratio was equivalent to the sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The best part of our experience was the musician who sang with his guitar. Made the night memorable and very romantic![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Right across from the hotel I was staying at, salad was tasty and pizza was average. The service was quite slow and we were one of the only people there.

Food and service are good. The mushroom appetizer was really good as was the lasagna! The house wine was ok.

This is a family run business in a perfect location next to the Eisemann Performance Hall in Richardson, TX. Went to grab a drink share a Manicotti- wow what a dish fresh baked pasta with ricotta, herbs, marinara sauce topped with mozzarella. Perfect dish, we were headed to the show - will spend more time - next time. I will be back!

I wish I could say this would be a life changing experience. And unfortunately that is not the case. I have given this place 3 tries, and have tried different things every time hoping I just got an off night each time. Well, 3 times of disappointment is not a coincidence, especially for the price point. Last time I ordered, I mentioned just moving in across the street, and they said "oh call next time! We discount for the locals". This evening I gave it my last shot, ordered via phone. Fettuccini primavera + sausage, and a Caesar salad. $38!!!!! Which is not only shocking, but also confusing because their online - posted menu- says this combo would only be $31, which is still disappointing since I received an inedible salad that was drowning in dressing. False advertisement? Oh and then after over changing me - they mentioned they do not do the discount anymore. Convenient. When I paid, the receipt asked for a tip option. When I put zero I was given the nastiest look. Why would I tip on a To-go order? Tipping culture is absolutely out of control. I give it 2 stars, because I finally found a dish that was above average- the fettuccine Primavera. I would NOT recommend any of the following: -stuffed mushrooms -any salad (unless you get dressing on side) -any red sauce pasta (jar tasting) -the soggy eggplant parmesan

All of the employees at Porta Di Roma have been working there since we moved here 25 years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cozy and beautiful place with art from local artist everywhere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is the well priced and delicious food that keeps bringing us back, and for me it's the Salman Picata. I get that and the wife the Cheese Pizza, and we share. They have the best Cheese Pizza in Dallas. Also, I have never been disappointed in the way they pour, either liquor, beer or wine.

Was on a work trip and I think this might be the only place within walking distance of the Renaissance. Service was friendly but a little slow. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really enjoyed their outside patio as it was a perfect night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was standard.

This is the Gnocchi Pomodoro with added Italian Sliced Sausage Side.

We came to Port de Roma because it was right next to the hotel that our friends were staying at. We had a party of 7 but initially only 3 of us were there. They allowed us to be seated even though we did not have a reservation and our full party was not there. We were immediately given waters, and our drink orders were taken. I got a glass of Pinto Noir, and my husband and daughter got soda. We also ordered appetizers; the calamari and mozzarella sticks. They also brought out fresh bread that was hot from the oven. Once the rest of our party got there, they took their drink orders and also took our food orders. I got the Veal di Masala, my husband got the Stromboli, and my daughter got the Fettuccine Alfredo. My food was super tasty, and the sauce was amazing, and the mushrooms paired so nicely with the meat. My Pinot Noir was one of the best that I have had. I enjoyed it so much that I got a second glass. This restaurant has a decent amount of seating. They also have a full bar and bar seating area as well. One challenge that you may have to conquer is parking. They have limited free street parking for 2 hours. Otherwise, you may have to pay for parking or valet park at the hotel, they do comp the fee if you get something from the restaurant or bar. We will definitely go back again when we are in the Richardson area.

Front of the restaurant that we couldn't eat at since they never put in our food order.

The restaurant has a more upscale feel without being stuffy, with a warm ambiance, attentive service, and plenty of nearby parking, which makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere struck a nice balance between casual and special occasion dining. My only complaint is the kids' menu. They offer kid-sized pasta options but surprisingly no kid-sized pizza at a pizza restaurant. It would be nice to have a smaller pizza option for little ones. Otherwise, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I'd return to.

Our experience started out on the wrong foot and did not get a whole lot better from there. The very pleasant person who greeted us told us to sit anywhere we like and she would follow us with menus. So, when we started to sit at a particular table a waiter flew across the room and told us,"No, not there, over here!". I guess he did not want us sitting at that table for some particular reason, but it was awkward at best, and unwelcoming. I am not one to usually play along with such games but for some reason I did this time, maybe because I have learned not to piss off people who are making my food. We ordered and I got the Aboca's Chicken, figuring a namesake dish would be a great choice. It wasn't. The garlic overpowered the other elements of the dish to the point where I could only eat a little less than half of it. Don't get me wrong, I love garlic, but this was too much. It was like the level of garlic where they might have forgotten they already put garlic in it and put more in...maybe even twice. Anyway, I don't regret trying the place, and I am actually glad I quieted some curiosities about the place, but this place is a one-timer for me

When I entered, I was rather uncertain. The space looks like a stereotypical pizzeria. I wasn't impressed at all, but I was too tired to leave. HOWEVER, my attitude quickly changed as I was greeted by the outstanding wait staff. Over the course of my visit, I was checked on several times by what seemed to be either the owners or managers. In the heart of a busy city, these men went the extra mile to make me feel like a welcomed guest in their home. It was a very nice experience. I ordered the lasagna on the server's recommendation. What a plate of food! The meat sauce was not skimpy at all....lots of beef and flavorful seasoning. The noodles were soft while still firm enough to maintain the shape. The generous portion and the really soft bread were a great dinner to bring a long day to an end. As a lover of Italian food, I plan to visit several area restaurants over this weekend. I have to admit that I'm thinking about returning to Besa's to try out some of the delicious pizza I saw during my visit. Excellent experience! I'll definitely be back.
