Very disappointed, my father went here for years with all of his vehicles. After he passed I decided to bring his one car in to have them fix a exhaust leak and new windshield. Although the windshield was great they did a terrible job on the exhaust leak and once I paid and left we noticed that the exhaust was rusted in half and the shop didn't even alert me. I brought my car to Portage Quick Change for an oil change and tire rotation. I was fairly disappointed in the level of service I received. The majority of oil change places offer extra services in addition to the actual oil change, such as checking and filling certain fluids, vacuuming the floors, washing the windshield, etc. I hesitate to refer to these services as "free" because I believe they are included in the price (near $30 for an oil change). Portage Quick Change did not perform any of these extra services; they simply changed the oil. I paid almost $50 for an oil change and a tire rotation and felt a little ripped off considering the standard level of service I have experienced at other oil change places. Also, the staff was not very friendly. The gentleman who changed my oil was nice, but the two people working in the waiting room were not. When I walked in the waiting room they both stared at me and then proceeded to ignore me for the fifteen minutes that I spent there until my car was ready. Also, I was subjected to their Mystery Science Theater 3000-like commentary of Pawn Stars, which I did not appreciate. I will not be back. read more

Went here for an oil change and got a bunch of attitude. Drove it onto the lift myself directed by staff and I instead oF saying anything to me they just pointed at the waiting room. It was dirty in the waiting room, prices of services which apparently were cheaper in the past were marked up with markers and the guy who rings you up has lots of attitude. read more

Brought my car in for an oil change in January (the 13th). They overtightened the filter on my car, which finally started leaking two months later on March 19th. Over the course of 3 days ALL of the oil leaked out of my 4 year old car. When I called, they said it had to be someone else who did the oil change (quick check of their records confirmed my oil change by them). Then told me to bring the car in and they'd do another oil change. Told them that wasn't happening, I'd take it somewhere else and that I wanted my money back from the messed up oil change. They told me to bring them thecrushed filter as proof. Took my car to my mechanic the next day who found tool marks on the filter from installation (you hand tighten oil filters). Also showed me where they had failed to replace the screws holding the skid guard in place under my car, which was hanging down. Told me it was in my best interest to take pictures of everything before they remove it or start the work. The oil had spread all along the undercarriage of my car all the way up to the back window of my car. Called Portage Quick Change to let them know I was bringing the filter. Got accused of crushing the filter MYSELF (WTF!) and that their guys would NEVER do shoddy work like that. Told me I didn't know what I was talking about, that wasn't something that could happen two months later (oh, it can, and does), and that they weren't giving me my money back, let alone paying for the deep cleaning the underside of my car is going to need. I had to threaten to take them to court (worth the $35 for small claims court at this point) at which point he said he would mail me a check for $30. I finally got him to agree to pay the $39.01 my mechanic charged me (and told me to get back from them). Now it remains to be seen if I get the money back. The part I'm the most angry about isn't the money, or the fact that they made a mistake. It's that they argued with me and told me I was a liar. The best guage of good customer service isn't how you deal with happy customers when things go well, it's how you deal with mad customers when you mess up. They fail. They fail really hard. read more

Have been going there for 3 years now. Alway expedient, competent service. have never had an issue with over 50+ oil changes on 3 different vehicles. Reasonable pricing as well. Also you can bring your own oil and filter and they will change for only 24.95! read more

I am just very disappointed. In June I brought my car in. I needed my catalytic converter changed. Two days later engine light came on again. They put on another catalytic converter. Engine light came on again. I had them change the flex pipe too! Engine light stayed off for about 12 days. They could not do anything to help me besides tell me it could be like 10 other things pulling up the code. I had them replace the timing belt since my dash told me code 52 which means timing belt. I got my car back with the code still on. I even question if the timing belt was actually done. Normally when you car gets fixed the codes come off. He got the code off but literally told me they had to do something with the wires (YouTube) and a dealership would have charged me a hundred and something (forgot the full amount) to get the code off.... it was a joke.... my engine light is still on by the way...$1,600 dollars of work and I wonder if anything was even done or if it was not done correctly. Please do not even take your car here to get work done. I would hate for you to experience what I had experienced. I wish I could get my money back or partial. This is very disappointing. read more

I brought my car to Portage Quick Change for a new alternator. I was quoted a price between 400 and 450. dropped the car off at 8am and told them I needed to pick it up by 4pm. At 11:30am I get a call saying its going to cost more around 750 and it will take all day so they didn't fix the alternator. I picked up the car and called the dealer and they quoted me 575 so then I call American on route 6 and they quoted me 360 and said they need 2 to 3 hours, the next morning I dropped the car at American at 8 am and just before 11am they called and said it was ready and when I picked it up the issue was fixed and it cost 360 plus tax. I will never go to Portage Quick Change again. read more
