As others have mentioned, ridiculously slow service. Food started coming out prior to drinks arriving. Ordered a second glass of wine when our meals arrived however the wine was not delivered until I was done with my meal. Food was standard chain steak house quality. Six of us went to happy hour from 3 to 6 PM. All of us had different dishes from the happy hour menu and we shared. Some of us going from one to three drinks and they were really reasonable $6 happy hour mixed drinks. The waitress was impeccable, and it was a meeting for three of our birthdays. We decided to give Luckys another try since my last review wasn't favorable. Our experience this time was wonderful. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, our prime rib was cooked just right, and our sides were hot and tasty. We were in there 6/28/26 and we both ordered the prime rib. The service was incredibly slow, almost a half hour to get a server. And drink glasses were empty for at least 15 minutes during our meal. It was BY FAR the worse prime rib that I have ever had. I honestly believe it was never actually slow roasted in an oven and it was cooked from raw in a microwave. Prisoners on Death Row should not be fed this garbage. And 20% gristle. Inedible. The 'sautéd onions and mushrooms that were on it were raw. Way too overpriced for the terrible quality of food they have. You'd be safer to go to other chain restaurants. The front desk person was not very friendly. Bland and not welcoming. Medium rare t-bone came out cooked beyond well done, and medium rare prime ribs were past medium well. The t-bone was sent back only to be replaced with another one overcooked exactly the same as the first. For a place with "steakhouse" in the name, that was government cafeteria level meat preparation. Disappointing is an understatement for the steaks. We have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past two months and we have never had a bad experience or meal. The staff is friendly (Adrianna) and the food is very good. We've had ribeye which was perfectly cooked to medium rare, the Bbq ribs are wonderful (12 large ribs) and the side choices are many and are all good. Portion sizes are generous and pricing is reasonable. This Lucky's in Gaylord is a must visit! read more

I have been here before and had a solid experience. This time was a bit different. We were greeted and quickly sat. The bartender was our waitress. She must of been overwhelmed with her two people at the bar and our table as it seemed like we were putting her out. The menu has lots of good options. From burgers to steak. They also have a solid selection of sides. The potatoes soup was good as was the garden salad. Once our food finally arrived. The buffalo mac n cheese was creamy and had cut up chicken strips with buffalo sauce. Over all decent. The chicken was a bit dry. The Maryland chicken was solid besides the asparagus that came straight from the stalk to the plate. Brings a new term to "farm to table". Food was good but they do lack in the service side. There was hardly anyone here and it took us over an hour to have lunch. Plan accordingly... and lower your service expectations and this place will come out shining. read more

I don't understand why I should leave a tip for takeout when my bag didn't have silverware or the condiments I asked for. I should have checked my order before leaving. We went to Luckys today for a late lunch. We were waited on in a timely fashion. There were only 5 occupied tables, including ours, the whole time we were there. We live downstate in winter months and this was our first time here.. figured we would try it since the whole family was starving being at Mackinaw all day. Huge portions and the wedge salad was less than 2.00 upgrade. The kids menu portions were so big and my 2 boys left there with leftover which never happens..ANYWHERE... We love Lucky's, but not tonight. They always have ice cold beer and great service! That hasn't changed. Unfortunately our food was not up to the usual standards you'd expect from Lucky's. Our salad was swimming in dressing, the lobster was squishy, maybe old, the steak was very under cooked. We did ask for the steak to be cooked a bit more, but after we finished the cold lobster and got the bartender's attention we asked for the steak to be removed as we never saw it again. The manager was flagged down to remove the steak and you would have thought she lost a family member. Never apologized for the cooks just ignored us. It's not the bartenders fault, it's up to the manager and kitchen. And don't ask to watch a football game, the manager has an attitude to change one of the four TVs in the bar area. Sad, but I don't think we'll eat here again. read more

We were seated immediately and then down hill from there waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged by our waiter asked for 2 rare steaks one came well and the other medium unfortunately time stopped us from sending it back continuously waiting for drinks and our sever has a deer in heads light look and seems to be very lost on what he is even doing. We've wanted to like this place, we truly have. It was not busy at all when we came in, but still took a while to get our bread and drinks. My grandmother - who has a small appetite - wanted to order the kids' ribs, and our sever told us she couldn't order from the kids menu. Pretty sure that isn't true, but whatever. My steak was all fat, underdone, and impossible to cut into what was essentially a tough spiderweb inside a rubber tire: all gristle on the edges, flat and mushy on the inside. It took fifteen minutes to remake, and while an improvement, it still wasn't great. I wish my server would have stayed to make sure that I was happy with everything, but she already left our table. Maybe we've just been very "unlucky" at Lucky's Steakhouse, because this was our fourth visit where we have left very dissatisfied for some reason or other. We went here about 4 years ago for my birthday. The service was terrible and the steak was tough and dry. Very disappointed (especially for a birthday dinner). Have not been back and my partner said let's try it for lunch today. Well twice is more than enough for me!! We ordered 2 sandwiches and waited about 45 minutes. I had French dip. The bread was seasoned so I asked the waitress if it contained Rosemary (I am very allergic). She checked and said no rosemary. I took 2 bites and my throat swelled up! She said well it might be on the meat she didn't know! I found a couple pieces in the meat. No offer to replace it or not charge me!! Only offered me a Benadryl!! She said that prime rib always has rosemary. (I've never had that problem elsewhere. They should know what they cook with! If you have allergies BEWARE!!!!!! read more

This review was for our dinner on Sunday, Oct 13th...Just a little late posting. This was one of the oddest experiences at a restaurant. We were seating behind a male and female (possibly father and daughter or a very mismatched husband and wife in terms of age). He was verbally very rude to her and his language was rough as well. My husband walked away from our table and asked for a different location as he did not want to hear that man talk any more. The host worked with us to find a location where we would not have to hear him talk abusively to his dinner partner. Our server took our order and was very pleasant. We know were there closer to closing time - about an hour before they closed....but it took a long time to get our food. The kitchen staff must have been understaffed as the food was coming out very very slow. At one point, it was closing time and the music was turned off. We and several other tables still had not received our food yet. Somebody came out and started to sweep the floor. This was awkward. Another table got their food. Chairs were being put up on tables around up. More awkwardness. We had been waiting now for over 30 minutes for our entrees after finishing french onion soup. Somebody decided to turn the music back on...strange but okay. Finally our entrees arrived. Our server disappeared into the backroom and thankfully the guy sweeping the floor overheard my hubby tell me that his fish sandwich really could use some tarter sauce and he went and got us some. Overall, it was strange experience and thankfully we do not live in the area so we will never be back. It was the patrons fault that you were short staffed so why start to clean your restaurant while we were waiting for our food? We all arrived at least an hour before closing so clearly there were some issues in the kitchen that evening. read more

After a pretty long wait of about 45 minutes from order to table service our dinners arrived after obviously living under the heat lamp for quite awhile. Not only was my steak now very well done, my wife's 10oz Prime was burned dark brown on top from the extended time under the heat lamp. We are new to the area & are getting to know the local restaurants in the area My husband moved his Business here and we take clients out often. Yesterday 8/1/25 my husband, & I went to Luckys for dinner. Friday night we were able to get right in as they were not busy and thought this would be great. Our visit was less than satisfactory. I'm very disappointed. It wasn't just one or two things. The entire experience was awful. We were seated and proceeded to wait 25 minutes after ordering our cocktails before the waitress served them. We were not offered or brought any water while we waited.We ordered an appetizer the new fried mozzarella lasagna, which was extremely overcooked so much that there was no cheese inside. I did not complain still when our dinner came my dinner. I asked for the steak without mushrooms and it had mushrooms my husband's dinner was served while she returned my dinner to the kitchen to get it correct I still did not complain. My husband ordered his steak medium well it was completely rare. So at that point when they brought my steak back, I let her know that my husband steak was rare. He doesn't like returning food to the kitchen. He said he would eat it anyways, but at that point I felt like I should say something because it was just continuing. Server stated that your policy is to send it back to the kitchen. If not, there's nothing they can do fine. I never asked her to go talk to the manager. She came back and said she talked to the manager and again there's nothing they can do unless we send it back at this point she started being rude and my husband just didn't trust the situation he was uncomfortable. He chose to just leave his dinner, there, my macaroni and cheese was ice cold, and I asked for a box upon bringing me the box. My server shoved the box in the bag very aggressively in my face at that point I got up and left and my husband paid the bill at her or the manager didn't bother to come collect and He still tipped her $20 Which she would've gotten way more had she just not been rude. It wasn't her fault about the kitchen, I don't expect anything for this. I'm just really disappointed because we just moved here and that's one of the nicer restaurants in the area and at this point, we will not return there. The experience was so awful. read more
