A very intelligent friend of mine referred me to this Garage when I lost faith in the place I was taking cars to. So we brought in my husband's Mustang and he usually takes it to the dealership. This was so much nicer because the estimate wasn't shocking and the time they took to do the work was extremely Quick compared to what we used to. I'm such a fan of this shop. If you're a woman DO NOT go. I made an appointment to come in on a Tuesday, I showed up Tuesday, explained I was there to drop off my car for a strange sound it's been making. I then get told he can't help me today and there's no room "how about Friday". Then I explain the sounds my car has been making (sounds they supposedly couldn't get my car to make last time I took it to this shop) and offer to show Steve an audio clip of the sound. He immediately shut me down saying hearing the audio wouldn't help and that it's not a big deal and I can drive the car the way it is. It is DEFINITELY a big deal. My car will not run as is and I'm having to get it taken to a different shop. Also the entire time we were having the conversation I felt completely brushed off- like I was just a nuisance and didn't know what I was talking about. And from reading some of the other comments on here I'm pretty sure Steve isn't a fan of his female costumers. He just lost this one and my mother who regularly used to take her car here. Avoid, I went to the garage for a simple fix which I could do but don't own tools. The excuse was did not have the part. A reasonable response. The 1st mechanic just said no. I started leaving and the 1st one walked into the walked into the garage. He started talking to the 2nd mechanic and clearly they didn't care. Porters was recommend to me by a friend. I thought since he was in Riverside for so long, he'd be reputable. I explained the problem with my car and he told me he has to keep the car overnight. I asked if I could get a ride home, he said yes. He kept the car over night and all the next day. He did a couple of things to the car trying to guess the problem and charged me $100.00. He charged a battery that was new, and cleaned the buckle on my seat belt, it kept dinging even though I was buckled up. Today when I tried to start the car it was very hard starting, almost didn't start, and the seat belt is still dinging continually when everyone is belted in. I called back and told him it's still doing everything I brought it for in the first place, he says "I guess you can bring it back in next week, but find someone to take you home. It costs me money to have someone take you home" (I'm 5 minutes away)... Well it costs me money too when I have to pay for something that doesn't get fixed. His attitude, lack of customer service, and inability to know the problem or fix the problem will keep me from ever going back. Don't guess so you can charge for the service and keep the customer coming back until you can get it right. Not a happy customer. read more

Beware !!!!! do not get your vehicle service here. I had been going here for over 4 years. I got all work done to my vehicle regularly. So in aug 2016. I got my oil change, change oil and air filter,check belts and hoses , brakes,fluids etc. Everything was checked $101 later. Steve said looks good see u next oil change. My car was making a wierd noises. So I decided to take it to another auto mecha nic. Only 1199 miles later from Porters oil change/looks good comment I was in shock when the new person said my oil is black, I need a oil changed, air and oil filter changed.I needed serpertine belt changed,two front struts with the two mounts,spark plugs and the list goes on.They had to repair broken mount bolts. I was in shock.I said this can not be. I went to my car and showed the person my aug 2016 Porters receipt showing my oil change etc. The person noticed $63 for labor. That is awful high. I am so mad at Porters. I am telling everyone BEWARE. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICE HERE. . read more

A friend recommended this place to me. I took my car here with multiple problems I was noticing with it. My car has 285k miles, so I just knew it was going to be major when the check engine light came on. Steve called me within 30 min telling me what they recommend and the price. I was extremely satisfied with the price and it was nothing major. Olde blue (what I call my car) ran so much better after the TLC Porters garage showed her.
