Lifetime lover of Portillos and will not go back anymore for TWO reasons: 1. The food *quality* and sizing has gotten pathetic. Nothing like they used to serve when Dick Portillo owned it. 2. The prices are stupid for what you get. Plan on close to $20 per person for a full meal. (I now go to chilis for their 3 for me $10.99... drink, appetizer, entree / sandwich, and fries). The cake that used to take up all the space of the container has shrunk by 30% and the price has gone to $5.29 a slice? Pass. And it's not even made the same. Lacks frosting, and has gotten drier. The beef that used to fill sandwiches with slices of good beef, have become thin, shredded and falling apart.... If I AM gonna pay $10.00 for a beef sandwich - Beef Shack kicks Portillo's ass with quality beef, better flavor, better bread, and options like garlic bread for the Sammy. They also get orders wrong more than they seem to get them correct. So when the expensive food isn't worth it - and the service goes downhill and the prices become obscene? We eat inside often and the employees at this location really are working so hard, fast and always seem genuinely happy. We have never had an order wrong, my only complaint is the crazy parking lot. We ate at the Batavia facility on Father's Day and it hasn't gotten any better from the last few times we have been there. The quality of the food was bland (hot dog , hamburger and fries), Luke warm at best and the restaurant was filthy. The ketchup containers looked like they haven't been cleaned in decades. Highly recommend the Italian Beef and Sausage sandwich DRY... if you don't order it dry, Chicago sandwiches are often completely dipped in gravy so the whole sandwich is wet. If you like that, go for it, but if not, order it dry (you literally have to say "dry") and ask for the gravy on the side. read more

My family loves Portillo's, we get it at least once every 2 weeks if not more frequently but I am kind of done with the lack of service at this location. 3 times now they have messed up my order in drive through but today broke me. On my birthday last year they forgot my son's order causing him to cry and me to have to drive back for his burger. Next time they put everything on plain hotdogs. I fixed this via creative bun usage of other plain dogs. This time I thought I would have a nice lunch brake with my boys who were off school. Long story short: they left the order of the same kid out that they had on my birthday.
