Its like a burger from the golden arches; its ok when your hungry, but very lackluster compared to a char-grilled burger made at a nice sit down Bar and Grill. Its hard to pinpoint, perfectly average C-, 70% Gyro. Hard to find a good gyro nowadays, In my opinion, the double-meater from Big Sammys is a better option. read more

Smelled the grill all the way from the parking lot of the Salvation Army as I was leaving and decided to stop in to see if I could grab a snack. Was happy to see that they have a mini gyros option that comes on a smaller pita as I had big dinner plans for later. The dining room was really clean and there is lots of seating available. I also liked some of the more unique menu options they had compared to other gyro/beef spots. The staff was very friendly with me and all of the other customers they interacted with. The 4 stars is only because the gyro wasn't really as good as others in my opinion. Not sure how to explain it but the meat just seemed to be seasoned differently than what I am used to and look for in a gyro. I could see how others might actually prefer Skippy's but it just didn't do it for me. I'd probably stop in to Skippy's again but would want to try other things. read more

We hadn't been to this location yet but hubs was craving a hot dog and cheese fries so away we went. I got the protein bowl with gyros and all the fixings. I would like to thank Skippy's for making an Italian Beef that my picky eater enjoys. He likes most kind of roasted meats, as long as the seasoning doesn't throw him off. So far most Italian beefs have not been acceptable for him, but yours did the trick. He ate all the meat out of his sandwich, which is a big win for us. I doubt if soggy Chicago style Italian beef roll will ever be up his alley, but I'll still eat it! Your gyros was scrumptious and the cheese fries quite good. The kids all ate well which is all I want to see. Dinner was quick. it was late in the day so some of the stray straw wrappers and crumbs on the floor were understandable. I called and said I just picked this up it was made wrong I don't have much time left on my lunch break can you start making it now and I'll drive back. Tried skippy's on my way back from work. Went through the drive thru. The employee was very friendly and helpful. I got the Italian sausage - I think it was a little old with the ends a little rough but had it been fresher it probably would have been a lot better. The bread was tasty. Portion was very generous. The pink lemonade was good. Overall I'd probably give it another try a little easier - getting food past 6pm probably didn't help but their menu seems to have interesting options that I would give it another shot. read more

The one sign says it's a favorite but does not give a price. Italian beef - $7.49 Garlic Bread - $1.00 add on Mozzarella - $1.50 add on Sweet Pot Fries - $5.49 Drink - $2.39 Total for combo: $17.87 without the tax. I ordered a: Gyros - $8.99 Drink - $3.29 Total: $12.28 without tax Lunch: $30.15 I questioned why the one sign seemed to indicate the Italian beef was one item, but he explained that it breaks them all down when you look at the board. Well, finding them on the board is a chore, and when you do, it is still unclear what you will pay. Food was fair, and the service was satisfactory. I have had better for less recently. I did not appreciate the way pricing is done. $32.56 for lunch will not happen again. This place is straight fire. I am a regular at this location. My go to is the burger, Greek salad, or gyro. Burger is charbroiled and great quality meat, Greek salad is the best I've ever had (yes I've been international) and the gyro gets the job done. I have never had a bad meal. The prices have fluctuated but the food has stayed consistent. I see clowns complaining about the interior and yeah it looks like an old Cheesecake Factory, but that reassures me the profit is going to the food and the employees. I'll be back! read more

I've never had a disappointing time at Skippy's. The food is always fresh, made to order. It's consistently hot and tastes great. The last time we went, the woman in the drive through was someone I've never seen before. She wasn't the nicest person on earth. I've supported them multiple times during this quarantine and expect a bit better service from her. Maybe she was having a bad day or something? Regardless the food is always great. I have gone to Skippy's occasionally over the last 15 years. Yesterday, I drove thru for a hot dog and fries. I had already driven away when I opened the bag, otherwise I would have returned.
