I've been to Portobello's Cuisine before, and this time I decided to make a reservation for my parent's anniversary , and I'm so glad I did! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. Their customer service is excellent , kind, and attentive throughout the entire evening. When I made the reservation, I included a note saying that we were celebrating a special anniversary and requested that after dinner they bring one spumoni ice cream cake for the celebration and one additional cake for the guests to share. It was a big surprise because, that's exactly what they did! The way they brought out the cakes made it such a sweet and thoughtful surprise. We all loved it, and had an amazing dinner night celebration . The food was absolutely delicious , from the appetizers to the main courses, everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I have to say dessert was very yummy , it was the spumoni ice cream cake we all enjoyed it !! Very flavorful and had that crunchy cookie part texture!! My parents enjoyed their special night, and it meant so much to see how happy they were. The most delicious pizza and pasta I have had in Los Angeles! The taste was out of this world, and the ambience truly made it feel like you are eating straight out of a kitchen in Italy. To be specific, we had the pepperoni pizza and the carbonara pasta. The pizza didn't even need crushed pepper or Parmesan cheese on top that's how delicious it was. We arrived and parked on the street. There is also ample parking behind the restaurant and a ramp leading down to it ao handicapped people have easy access to it. My 89 year old mom and I loved the whole experience. We ordered drinks and then also brushetta. Bread came with chimichurri sauce ( delicious greens in olive oil). Then the bread with brushetta came. Our waiter Vitek was so nice and we loved his bright and cheerful demeanor. The brushetta was spot on. The atmosphere was lovely ans decorations made me feel like I was in Italy. The other server Martín helped as well and was also very kind. Mom ordered a chicken salad and I ordered a pepperoni pizza. Very posh place, and the food was delightful and flavored just perfectly! They had lots of choices on their menu and lots of wines. All in all we loved the food and the service and the atmosphere. They also serve take out and we often get food to go. We ordered and shared: Bruschetta Fried calamari Portobello ravioli Rigatoni bolognese Cheese ravioli with porcini mushroom (I somehow missed taking a photo of this one) Lasagna Portobello pizza The freshly baked complimentary bread and the herb dip were sooo so good. The bruschetta was good as well, basically the same bread with a different topping. I enjoyed the fried calamari though the red sauce was a little too ketchup-y to my taste. The bolognese sauce on the rigatoni was tasty. I liked both raviolis, with a preference for the cheese one. The pink sauce was less heavy. There was also a lot of sauce leftover for both, which was great to eat with more bread. The lasagna tasted good but I was a little disappointed. It was pretty flat and too cheesy. It was baked in a small dish and the edges were dry. Not something I'd care to order again, and I generally love lasagna! The pizza tasted fine but didn't stand out. If I go again I would rather get a different dish. We went at 4pm when they opened on a Saturday. Not busy at the time but was busy by the time we left. Just took my parents here and it was delicious. We have been going here with the family for a few years and the food and service never disappoint. Our server was so nice and super attentive. Everyone on the staff is always so friendly. The place is in a great location with easy parking, super clean. There is also indoor and outdoor seating which is great. The vibe is overall awesome. I got the top sirloin steak on the special menu with a side of veggies and mashed potatoes. All super good. My mom got the eggplant parmesan and double veggies. She really loved it. Both my mom and I were able to take home left overs which I love! My father got the carbenara pasta and he finished his plate it was so good. The service and the food are phenomenal! I was looking for a new Italian place and was elated I stumbled on this spot. We ordered the Linguine Vongole and Montrose pizza, and we were really satisfied. The pizza was flavorful and had a good amount of meats. Linguine was rich and had a generous amount of clams. The staff was very attentive and respectful, describing each dish well, coming by at good intervals to ask if we needed anything, and seemed genuine to provide us a great experience.
