The name says it all! A casual, cozy spot with an authentic Irish pub feel. The vibe is different based on the weather/time of year. In winter the crowd hunkers down inside, with more of cozy, intimate feel. A lot of folks stand or sit in the bar area, but there are tables too. We came during the a world cup game which made for an eventful outing! In warmer months you can find people chatting with the staff at the outdoor bar and playing volleyball on the two courts outside. It's always entertaining to watch the volleyball games, some of which are scheduled through rec leagues and some are just for fun. This is one of few places in Greenville to get a proper Guinness pour, but the food doesn't have much going for it. The chicken tenders were fine, the fries were just okay, and the potato skins were rather underwhelming. This bar is a Greenville gem for its unique charm. I'll be back--hopefully to get my toes sandy on the volleyball courts! read more

What can I say... Great food, love the atmosphere and nice people. We really enjoyed our food and watching the volley ball matches, and drinking a Guinness with our meal. I actually had a really good time here on St Patrick's Day! It was super packed but that was to be expected! Great pub if your looking for a good drink and quick service! This place is great for soccer fans to watch a match and have a beer or two. The beer selection is varied and a full bar is available. Some of the best bar food in Greenville can be found here. You go to the kitchen building and order up and get it when your flying saucer goes live. French fries with curry gravy is my absolute favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything. Shepherds Pie and Fish and chips are great and hearty. Good portion sizes for the money. There are several areas to eat both indoors and out. I favor the outdoor pavilion when it's not too hot. In summary, this is a great stop for bar food with great bartenders that won't wreck your budget. Soccer fans abound. See you at the Pub! read more

Great lil spot that has been here forever in Greenville. They have a full bar . The menu is simple , one page but better than average bar food at a fair price. They also have a sign up that offers you to use the grills free if you bring your food.The live music was good and it's outside under a shelter so the weather was perfect. To order drinks or food go up to the bar , if you get food you get a number and someone will bring it to you . This place is very casual as they have 2 volleyball courts outside . If you plan to play show up , take your shoes off and go out there . I did enjoy watching, some were really good others were just having fun . Definitely a local dive that's not trying to be anything but what it is. Tricky finding the door on my way in (you want through at least 3 gates and doorways to find the pub room) but once I was inside I had a legitimate flashback of being in Lisdoonvarna, Ireland. This is one of my favorite bars in Greenville. Delicious pub food (curry fries ftw!), friendly atmosphere, and it's a legit Irish pub. The sand volleyball in the back is a huge bonus. Also...they have Kilkenny! This is only the second bar in the US I've found that carries it. I'd frequent here just for that. read more

A group of us went to play some beach volleyball and have a good night. A good amount was having drinks with open tabs and we were competing against other customers when they reached out. Later the owner came up and started yelling at us very unprofessionally because we were not buying enough drinks and told us that it was not a playground. Came here with a group of friends to hang out and play volleyball seemed like a cool place. A few of us were buying drinks but not everyone was 21 so some just got water. While we had a bigger group we weren't hogging the court and others were rotating in on our games. We enjoyed the experience and we're planning on coming back until the owner approaches our group and immediately starts yelling and cursing us out that "This isn't a playground" All I can say is you just lost about 20 customers tonight. read more

Owner cussed us out and told us to leave. A group of us about 20 showed up to play sand volleyball. Those of age bought drinks and we all had a good time playing. I was looking forward to coming back until a man stopped us mid game. He states "this is a fu**ing business not a playground." We did nothing wrong, we were respectful and not too loud, we were paying customers as well. Upon entering no rules or expectations were given and no menus ever offered for food. read more

Went there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and chose to sit at the bar. The first red flag was that there were only 4 other patrons in the entire place. The female bartender had an immediate attitude, responded with a sarcastic remark when I tried to make small talk, and generally acted like her sh!t didn't stink. Did I say there were only 6 people in the whole place? Then the owner walks in and doesn't as knowledge us at all. Hmmmm, they may want to train at Chic fil A for a few weeks to learn how to treat customers. If that girl pulls in $20 a weekend on tips, I'd be surprised. To top it off, it's very gross feeling in there. They may want to clean a bit. Will not go back again. read more

I hadn't been to this place in quite awhile - and I must say I'm glad I checked it out again! if you are wanting a great outdoor space with lots of activities and "chill" areas, then this is it! A large rustic covered patio area is front and center with a stage area in back. Two areas for grilling out, two volleyball courts, several places to play darts, two ring toss games, multiple corn hole boards with bags, and even an outdoor "shower" area to rinse off after you get sandy. Tiki bar area provides a great spot for lounging. Pro TIP : the outdoor bathrooms are nicer than the single bathroom inside. And I've heard they are going to be serving apps soon - right now it's just drinks. Definitely a fun place to bring your friends and hang out! read more

On my first trip, I wasn't exactly sure what the Irish Pub would be like. On the inside, it is exactly what it's name implies - a typical little Irish Bar with an actual Irish bartender and a good pour of Guinness on tap. However, what sets this bar apart is their awesome patio area, complete with an outdoor bar, grills, two beach volleyball courts, and several cornhole boards. This place is great for chilling with your friends. Unlike many bars, the music and activities outside are not too loud, so you can actually carry on a conversation with your friends. They have plenty of outdoor seating, with several tables and benches on the large patio. On the nights we went, it was the younger crowd hanging out on the patio but a more mature crowd closer to the bar and indoors. They (of course) have Guinness on tap, along with a small variety of decent beers and Magners cider as well. They have a full bar, but unfortunately they do not serve food. Luckily, you are welcome to bring some in, or you can use one of their outdoor grills to cook up your own meat or veg. On busy nights, a food truck is parked close by, but there are also other nearby options to bring food in or for the DD to slip out and get you some. One of the best things is that occasionally they have dates set aside for "Yappy Hour." You can bring your dog and kids to this. On one sign, it looks like an upcoming one will have events and a raffle to enter if you donate a can or package of dog food for charity. I believe they also have other activities, such as karaoke, on busier nights. This is a great place to go for a more relaxed atmosphere to get drinks or if you are looking for a place to have brews and get your volleyball on. read more

The inside bar is very small. The have a nice large patio area and some is covered. No food unless you bring it. Depending on who is bartender, you will have to do all the work. They do not pay attention to you after you have been served. At times not very friendly. read more

A truly unique Greenville pub. A must see for visitors, and a great hangout. Greenville is the only place I have ever found a nice pub with a giant backyard, with 2 volleyballcourts (1 with really nice clean thick sand) and 8-12 bean bag throw targets (called cornhole), and also darts and large flat screen tv in the outdoor gazebo. Probably my favorite bar in town. Very laid back, very friendly staff, and they pour a mean Black and Tan( although they use Yeungling, I prefer Bass). It is never too crowded and you can really enjoy your company. The music is just loud enough to hear it and the clientele is never rowdy. A fair amount of actual Irish people frequent the pub and if you're lucky will sing some great Irish folk songs. Myself and a lot of my colleagues will meet here on a weeknight to play volleyball, drink beer, and tell war stories from work. I highly recommend this pub!! read more

I've been about 20 times to watch my hubby play volleyball. I often bring my kids, aged 15 and 18, and we have loved it in the past. We understand the no table service and no food service -no problem. Suddenly, after nearly 2 dozen visits, I was stopped at the door by a man I've never seen before - he told me that "this isn't a playground" and that my kids were not welcome there. He insinuated that the 18-year-old was going to "invite all his friends" and they were going to try to get drinks. He said it would be OK if we visited earlier in the day, but not after 9:00. What? Sorry dude - the bar needs to control who does and does not drink in its establishment OR you need a strict 21-and-up rule. Everyone else in Greenville does it - you can too. read more

Fun, Great place to chillax. My friend and I had a lousy time up the hill at the Phoenix inn, so we walked down the hill to this place. We had a great time watching Karaoke and Volleyball players in action. They had a great beer selection and 2 latge bars: inside and out. Great patio out back.
