When I arrived I had the expectancy that she was doing my nails, instead she sent me to someone which made me a little upset because I wanted to see her skills. I noticed in a lot of the one star reviews that most people had that same complaint, you go in expecting Asia and you get someone else. Fast forward, I go to Asia during the pandemic because she advertised via Instagram that she was taking clients. I arrive and she has someone in her chair so I didn't mind waiting. Sarah comes and let's me know that she would be doing my nails I was not happy about that because again my appointment was made with Asia, I didn't want to cause any problems or make Sarah uncomfortable so I let her do them while making myself uncomfortable! The entire time Sarah is doing my nails it just felt ugly like I just felt her messing my nails up, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and got the complete opposite (check pics at the bottom). My nails were bulky, wide, and crooked. I was beyond pissed. Sarah then goes to do my feet and the reults were tragic. My cuticles were left crusty looking and my nails were shaped uneven. I ended up spending $110 for nails that looked like the nail tech did them with her eyes closed. The next day my gel polish chipped on my big toe which led me to believe I didn't get actual gel polish because it's not supposed to come off that fast or easily. I went back the following day to get it fix by Sarah and asked if she could fix my ugly finger nails. When I asked her to fix my nails she looked so offended that I was critiquing her jacked up work. She filed my nails and made them worse. So again I'm aggravated, I was so aggravated to the point I sent Asia a message along with pictures to let her know I was not satisfied with my nails and she offered to fix them. I go in the next day and as she's reshaping my nails she admits that they were too wide and she asked Sarah why she would shape my nails like that and Sarah had the nerve to say that's what I asked for. Like yes I asked you to shape my nails crooked. Sarah walks away upset and Asia tells me that she has to practice more and be willing to take criticism etc. So while she's saying that, things start clicking like hold up!!!! You sent me to an inexperienced nail tech and charged me experienced nail tech prices. It's safe to say I'll never go back to Asia, she was very professional but her unprofessionalism comes from allowing someone in training to do a client's nails and not monitor her or go over her work to ensure it looks neat and professional. Also, if someone makes an appointment with Asia ensure that she is the one doing your nails. It's not fair to a customer to send them to someone else and some customers may not want to speak up to avoid conflict so don't put them in that position. Also I added a pic of how long my nails were before the pandemic and the work of my actual nail tech, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she executed it to perfection!

I hate to be the one to do it, because I love to support black businesses, but too often black businesses lack in customer service and I absolutely hate that. This is long, because I want to be detailed about what went wrong. I'm a stay at home mom to 3 kids: 10, 2, and 9 months. I don't get days off. We recently moved to NJ in December and been following Asia for quite a while now. Though the designs aren't really my thing, the quality is what stood out for me. I called to make an appointment for a pedicure and I was asked to come in right then. Upon entering I was asked if I was the girl that called for the pedicure appointment. I said yes and was instructed to choose a color. After about 10 minutes I was called to sit in the chair furthest one to the back. Once I sat down and stuck me feet in the jelly (got a jelly pedi) she asked "you wanted to soak right?" I said yes, to which she replied "ok good because I have another client so just relax and I'll be with you when I'm done." Now soaking is cool, but I sat in that chair for about an hour before she came back and checked on me. I told her the water had gotten cold and asked for more hot water but had to sit through the freezing water before it warmed up again. Now I'm sitting in a Luke warm bowl of soupy jelly. I thought she was ready to service me, but I was wrong. She still had to apply crystals to the other client which means I still had to wait. 15-20 minutes go by and I'm finally getting serviced. I didn't complain because at least I was out of the house and the woman servicing my feet was lively and friendly. When she was almost done, I asked if they really offered Henna, she said yes. That's when a man selling sun glasses and other miscellaneous items walked in. The henna lady directed me to her chair and I had to wait another 20 minutes while they all tried on and made their purchases. I finally see her sorting through the cones and she comes over. I showed her a picture of the gist of what I wanted to get and she began. Once she had already begun I noticed that the henna wasn't the right color. I asked if it was black or red henna and she confirmed it was indeed black. She immediately starts telling me why she prefers black over red "because with the red you can't really see the design until after it's dried." I was confused by that. I showed her some of the henna I'd had in the past and watched as she sketched out my design. It was decent, but I was shocked to hear her say $40 once she was done. In my head I'm like *Souljah Boy voice* $40??? But I didn't complain because I understand that price is reflected off of time spent and materials used. Another thing I noticed here is that there are no prices. No one tells you before you begin, I didn't ask until the end (my fault) but it's listed literally nowhere. When I took my shower late that night (after the henna had peeled) I noticed excessive black suds over the henna area. The next morning I reached out to her with my concern. My stain wasn't red, it was black, and some parts were completely missing after just 1 shower. I waited all day and got no response. I reached out to the woman that did my henna before and she informed me that henna should NEVER be black. She stated it was most likely mixed with some type of die. So I get to googling and google says the same. Even goes on to explain that black henna often times contains PPD which can cause a range of issues from irritation to burning. Look it up! So now I'm freaking out and I still haven't gotten a response. So I reach out again today, and got a response about not seeing my message and yes it should be red. Didn't answer any of the questions I asked and didn't seem concerned at all. Honestly that's why I'm writing this review. I'm currently pregnant and if there were chemicals that are dangerous in this "henna" it could be absorbed through my skin and possibly affect my baby. But she didn't seem concerned at all. After bathing my 2 younger children and taking another shower myself the henna is practically gone. Waste of damn money!! Poor customer service from her specifically. I will say that didn't didn't deal with or get serviced by Asia directly, and the woman that did my pedicure was pleasant enough that I'd like to return but after this experience and some of the other reviews I think I'll find a nail home elsewhere. The bad taste and the bad vibe is stuck in my head now.
