I have been going to posh on and off for four years. Today, I was reminded why they are usually not my first choice... I chose to go to Posh because I was in the area and I know they take walk-ins, and I am used to their fast and reliable service. I was seated right away, which was great. I had no polish or dip on my nails, and typically a dip manicure takes about 30-45 minutes even WITH color on my nails (I have been getting dip powder nails since I was 16 years old... from the time I was seated to the time I was leaving, the service has never taken more than 45 minutes MAX) I was there for over an hour. The nail tech must have been new, which is totally fine... if the job is done well. As she did my nails, she added more dip powder than I have ever seen put on my nails before. It was bumpy, uneven, and the color was patchy. I just kept telling myself to trust the process... The nail tech sitting next to her kept looking at her work with suspicion, asking her, I presume, what she was doing. She would show him my nails and he would continue working, periodically checking her work. The dip powder on my nails adhered to my skin, and the tech used her finger nail to separate the two... which was painful! Even after flinching, she continued to do it. Finally, the other tech took over and I thought "thank goodness!" He showed her my nails, pointing out errors that I saw as well in Vietnamese. When I asked him if something was wrong, he said no and that he was talking to her about something else (which I find hard to believe since both of them examined my nails closely). I pointed out that the color was extremely patchy, and he fixed it. As I further examine my nails, I do not believe that there are two nails that are the same length. I also asked for an almond shape, and they are round. By the time my manicure was done, I was so ready to get out of there that I just paid the $60 bill and left. I am extremely disappointed in the fact that the service took forever, is not up to standard, AND that I was not offered some kind of discount for the subpar service I received. I knew that the service was not going to be what I expect from a $60 manicure when my tech was being corrected, scrutinized, and eventually replaced. I wish I would have spoken up sooner, but I was practically sprinting to the door ready to leave this salon. read more

Came from out of town to visit and my friend brought me here, worst ever! The older lady that attempted to do my pedicure did not understand anything I tried to tell her due to a huge language barrier. I asked for a orange color that I picked out and she brought me a dark red color. Minus her not really seeming to know how to scrub my feet, her paint job was the last straw for me. The manager offered to let someone else repaint them but after seeing how they were operating I refused. The older lady did her best even though it was a horrible job so I wasn't upset with her, I was more upset with the manager who still expected me to pay and had a horrible attitude. If you are in Columbia, SC go anywhere BUT here, it's not worth it. They seem more concerned with placing bodies in chairs fast, even without cleaning behind the previous person, than they are NOT about quality work. I give them a ZERO stars. read more

If I could give negative stars I would - the first time I went here it was absolutely amazing me and my roommate fell in LOVE but the second time they charged $50 for a FILL IN and didn't make my nails the same size or shapes really and I was upset about it but figured maybe the tech I had was new or something and didn't wanna say anything but this last time I came in on a Saturday waiter 48 min when maybe six customers and 8 workers were there but the workers were walking around joking with each other and were wasting my time but I pushed that aside - got told to sit in a chair and waited another 20 before anyone helped me there - I pushed that aside to - so I was getting a fill and one fixed - so she sat me down and started working on them and she was being so rough and randomly would stop to text??? Like?? I'm a customer paying to be here just do your job - and do she'd get distracted and then when she asked what color I wanted I pointed to it on the little nail thing and she goes "oh we don't have that" so I picked another and once again "oh we don't have that" and then one I picked was a totally different color than advertised .... so I settled for a color I've had before and she starts paining and whatever and keeps taking time to text and talk to coworkers - I told her the nail she was fixing was no where close to the shape or size it should he and she just shrugged it off so I figured whatever - when she was done I got to the register and they charged me SIXTY DOLLARS FOR A FILL AND ONE FIX ??? are you kidding me?? Not to mention the whole reason I'm writing this is because the nail they did fresh Saturday (it's Wednesday now) BROKE when I was pulling up the back of my shoe .... it didn't even hardly last a week ... I went to go get a gel polish change and I was charged $25 when the brochure clearly says $15 I didn't get a fill-in I didn't get extra done....the man who did my nail actually cracked one of my nails so he had to file it down to make it shorter then the rest of them and he did a very horrible paint job I would not suggest this place to anyone. Do NOT use this salon's services if you have natural nails! I received a Posh Manicure with Gel Polish $40 plus tip (although the posted website price is $35). This was my first and LAST visit to this low quaility, overpriced nail salon. I am accustom to paying $45 plus tip for the "same" service at my regular nail salon. Stike 1, 2 & 3 - She ruined my natural nails! First, the nail tech scraped 1/3 of my gel polish off with a metal cuticle scrapper after only allowing it to soak for less than 3 minutes. (This maybe a generous time allotment...she wrapped my nails to soak, walked off to get a bowl of warm water, and then began butchering my nails.) Next, she used a file to remove the remaining 2/3 of the gel polish...breaking my nails. Then, she had the nerves to act like my nails started out uneven and recommended that I cut them to make them even! BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE! A $40 manicure, did NOT come with lotion nor hand massage! I left with dry hands and peeling cuticles! I was super disappointed after leaving and noticing the poor quality of work...But now, I'm angry that my gel polish chipped the very next day and my nails are now bending and breaking because they are thin and weak! read more

As of this posting 5/29 this business refused to serve me because my face was not covered. I have received the necessary vaccine, but due to medical conditions my nose and mouth can not be covered. I've been going here for over a year, and the experience unfortunately varies greatly with who you get. Today's experience was unacceptable. I had a confirmed appointment for a dip manicure at 4:15 pm and a pedicure with gel polish at 5 pm. I was sat in a pedicure chair first, and waited until about 4:50 pm until the water was even started. The first person who served me did not talk much, but checked in with me often. She was very sweet and did all but the painting of my toes. I asked the man in charge (I believe; he was scheduling, answering phones, and checking customers out) for the dip colors when he had a moment, but he did not return for about 15-20 minutes. He sat down and very quickly painted my toes. He was so fast that I had one foot painted before I realized he was on that step. He did not check if I liked the color or speak to me at all. I HATE the color. I usually speak up, but it seemed too late and he appeared agitated and rushed. When he asked if I had a nail color chosen, I was in the middle of showing him I was down to two colors, when he cut me off and took them both. He gave two powders to the next person to do my nails. The powders look different from the swatches, so I asked her for advice. I told her I want a light pink, not bubblegum. She picked one and continued, without asking if I was okay with her choice. She did NOT ask what shape I wanted and told me she didn't like matte nails when I asked if a matte top coat might dull down the bright pink color (she also did not asked what I thought after a nail or two). I told her they were looking too bright for what I wanted and tried to explain, but she assured me it would be fine. As she was painting the shine coat, she asked if I liked my nails. I said, "I mean. They're alright. I guess." I starting tearing up. She didn't seem concerned what I thought or not. She was clearly upset the manager kept allowing customers in near closing time. I went to pay, defeated and heartbroken the big treat to myself was a waste of OVER TWO HOURS and $100. I would really like to give POSH another chance, but I'm not sure if I can. Overpriced half assed manicures and poor customer service. Came in for an acrylic refill with gel polish and in two days my cuticles were already showing. It's Wednesday I got them done Monday. There should not be any space under the polish after two days. what makes me so upset is that I came into the salon to show him the poor job that he did and his excuse was that my nails grow too fast. I get my nails done religiously every two weeks sometimes even three if the nail tech does a great job. I shouldn't have to come back in in a week. I always hate reviewing nail places because the experience can differ so much depending on who is doing your nails, or what kind of mood they are in. With that being said, this place is really nice! Everything is new and there is marble everywhere. I have gotten a deluxe pedicure which was awesome. The massaging chair was so nice they turned me to mush. Today I got a gel manicure which was nice as well. This is why I can not give them 5 stars. Today a friend and I went to have our nails done. She got a pedicure and a change of gel polish for her hands. At the end when she went to pay she was charged $25 for changing her gel nail polish. On the brochure it says gel polish change $8. That's a big jump. Maybe there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way. It would have been nice if they could have explained why such a difference. read more

Posh is a beautiful place and nail tech nice. Manager has a very nasty attitude and the service is over priced. They give you the total when they finish service instead before so you can decide if you want certain things. Then within three days my gel nail begin chipping so I called went in to get them redone he said 1-2 days you can come back no more. Great, classy nail salon with excellent color selection. They also serve mimosas and wine (one drink per visit). Service is pretty good, and it's easy to get comfortable for the time you're there with the massage chairs and the water they'll bring you to drink! I've been coming to this salon for years but I think this will be my last visit. Went in to get a pedicure and have my nails removed. They wanted me to sit with a bowl in my lap with both of my hands confined while getting my pedicure. I insisted that I want to relax, listen to music, and use my phone. Wow!!! The attitude that I received from the techs and manager. The bowl was snatched from my lap, and I was told that it had to be that way I'm the paying client and if I want each service done separately then it should be that way without resistance from management. Horrible service if they mess your nails up. There is no respect for you if you asked them to do you nails over. It was my first time trying the powder nails. When they finish my nails they felt like sandpaper. The lady said it supposed to feel that way(She lied). I went back there they removed them and applied the gel. Had a terrible experience at posh. Came in for a manicure and pedicure last week. My nail tech started on my pedicure and all was ok until he turned his attention to my (chronic) ingrown toe nails. I have lived with ingrown toenails for as long as I can remember and I usually let them try to cut them out if it's not too painful. He began digging into the side of my big toe. I exclaimed that it was very painful but he went back to trying to dig them out. Finally I pulled my foot away, my eyes welling up and asked him politely to please just leave them be since it's very painful and they will grow back anyways. He left them be for about 2 mins and then was back to trying to dig them out. I asked him again to please leave them alone. He would not. I asked him near 10 times, tears in my eyes from the pain, waving my hands over my feet, before he stopped, leaving an open and bleeding wound on my big toe. Finally he painted my toes and I move to get my manicure. At the end of my manicure, he grabbed a bottle of an unknown liquid and, without my consent" put the liquid on my toe (TOUCHING the top of the communal bottle of this liquid to the open wound). It stung horribly, but I bit my lip and didn't say anything. After washing my hands, I began to stand up to leave and he grabbed another bottle of a different liquid and headed for my toe. I asked him what the liquid was and he wouldn't give me a straight answer. I told him to not put anything else on that toe because it was hurting too badly and that I was going to put my own antiseptic on it. He put the second bottle down but quickly grabbed the original bottle and as I was yelling "no please don't", he put the original liquid on my toe again (again, touching the bottle to my wound). I went home and thoroughly cleaned my toe. The cut healed up but fast forward 5 days, I now have a toe infection that is extremely painful, oozing and bleeding from a different spot than the original cut. I was appalled on how terribly this nail tech behaved and responded to my pain/requests. I will NOT be back. read more

Kim always does a great job on my nails! They do get very busy and there is a wait but that's what happens when it's a walk-in salon. They do offer complimentary mimosas or beverage of choice. I love how sanitary their salon is and how friendly each of the technicians are. I've been there so many times, they know who I am and ask how everything is going. I've gotten manicures (regular, gel, acrylic, etc) and pedicures (regular and gel) here for over a year now. They have decent service and offer an assortment of beverages (i.e., mimosas, wine, water). I have never reviewed them until now. They're friendly and fast. It's a busy salon and I believe that's because of the location and extras (beverages and speediness of the service). All that said, I won't be going back. The pedicures are great but I'm not satisfied with tolerating the outcome of my manicures. It's rushed. The results of the fullest, fill-ins and manicures have become increasingly sloppy. When I point out flaws (i regular nail shape, bumpiness after they file, etc) I feel they don't take the criticism well, not care to correct it. I feel they have turned into a factory that treat customers like cattle and the sincerity behind trying to do the best work on your nails lacks. It's just sloppy work for a service(s) that can cost upwards of $50, $70, $100. I expect more and haven't been getting it. Moving in to a better service elsewhere. read more
