I just finished my nine-month program at Positive Changes, and as some people have pointed out, it is pricey, but it was SO worth the money I paid. I have struggled with my weight my whole life, have been able to lose weight both on my own and through other programs, but have always put it back on. Through Positive Changes, I have been able to lose 50 pounds, my blood glucose levels are now back in the normal range, and my high cholesterol and high blood pressure are now both within normal limits for the first time in many years. I am exercising every day, and actually looking forward to it! (That's a first for me!) Needless to say, my doctor was very pleased at my last exam! There is no magic answer for weight loss, but I believe that this program has taught me a lot about healthy eating, although Positive Changes is not a "diet" per se. What I have learned is that it is all a matter of CHOICE. There's nothing productive about feeling guilty after eating something that is high in calories; instead know that it was a choice you made, and as long as that choice is accompanied by healthy eating at most other times, it's OK! That was a very freeing concept to me - someone respected me enough to know that I could figure it out! When I first started, I was a little apprehensive about hypnosis. This is not typically what people associate with hypnosis - it's really helping you reach a very relaxed state, so that your mind is open to being retrained regarding long-held beliefs and habits about food and health. I had always regarded eating as a social activity - I enjoyed cooking and eating, especially heavy and sweet foods. And, while I still look forward to eating, I now understand that food is the fuel for my body. And I have learned what the right amount of fuel is, and what kind of food gives me the most quality fuel. Two things strike me as I read some of the other reviews of Positive Changes. First, in order to achieve results, you have to be open to learning about and valuing hypnosis. Second, like everything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. When I started, I was committed to following through, and I remain committed to making healthy eating choices and to continuing to exercise, so that this will be a permanent weight loss for me. Being overweight and diabetic my doctor emphatically recommended I lose 50 pounds. All previous attempts to lose weight have been far from satisfactory. The different methods, diets, and programs all had one thing in common - to lose weight I had to change the lifestyle that created my overweight condition. Ultimately it came down to using will power to force the changes. I used to joke that I had more will power than anyone I knew because I hadn't used any of it yet. Yes, I lost weight, but I was still the person I was before. Nothing had really changed so when I relaxed a bit I reverted to my old habits and the weight came back - plus a little. This time, however, I found the Positive Changes Hypnosis Center in Bellevue, WA. I went in and, after careful consideration, decided this was what I have really been searching for all these years. Instead of trying to force changes externally by force of will, I needed to change myself from the inside out. Through hypnosis the professionals at Positive Changes are working to re-educate my sub-conscious mind. Through counseling and classes I am learning how to assist the process using my conscious mind. No diets are involved. There are no weigh ins. But I am amazed at how easily the weight is coming off. When I proposed joining this program my wife said that she would endorse any program that would get me to like vegetables and to start exercising. At first, I thought the price was a bit high. But the cost of not joining was even higher. Now, a little over two months into the program I am right on target to losing the 50 pounds I set as a goal. I now look forward to eating more vegetables, to eat less food with a more balanced diet, and to drink more water. I can't wait to head down the YMCA each day. My goal was three times per week, but I average over one hour a day five days per week. I have been in the program for about a month now and have had nothing but good things to say about it! I have lost about 12 pounds so far which is fabulous for me! And as an added benefit I have been sleeping a million times better, have had more energy to get up in the morning to go to the gym, and therefore have been able to keep my energy up the whole day. And eating better on this program has been easier than I have ever experienced on any other program. I have found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly and I really look forward to going every week. It's true, it is expensive, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was able to invest. I am honestly surprised by the negative comments on this website! Super glad I didn't read them before I went, I may have been discouraged and would have lost out on a great opportunity! Maybe the people reviewing have had different life experiences than I have, but I have been overweight my entire life and have tried many many programs. I have tried very consistently over the past 3-4 years to lose weight that I had gained over about 10-15 years and so far had not been successful at making significant or sustainable progress. I felt many times that in ways I was over-obsessing about food and "tracking" exercise - counting calories and increasing exercising was my main method, which would work for a while but then not work once some major stressor happened. Since starting Positive Changes, I've lost 12 lbs, which I'm ecstatic about. It has only been 2 months Maybe that doesn't seem like a lot compared to some "quick fixes" out there but it it feels permanent. I have confidence I'll continue to lose the additional 38 lbs in my plans to get back to my ideal and healthy weight I was at for much of my adult life. I no longer obsess or think about food all the time. I have switched my mentality about food being a "bad" thing to food is "nourishing and health providing" and that more the issue is what you choose and how much of it. I love Positive Changes Hypnosis Center! I finally decided to do whatever it takes to lose weight this year and keep it off for the rest of my life. Recognizing that the yo-yo battle had kept enduring year after year, I knew I had to try something completely different. I was miserable! Trying everything i could to loose weight, keep it off, and to be happy with my body. The more unhappy I was, the harder it was to keep any weight off that I managed to lose. Positive Changes has allowed me to feel better about myself as i continue to lose weight and be more healthy. It has been the best thing I did for myself, the feeling of being free in your mind. From the first time I went the center things has change. For the first time in long time I can see clearly, now I won't let other's put there stress on me and won't let people worry me. I finally stop being a garbage dump for other people troubles.. Now with that I am stress free and 11 pounds down in one month, with day's to go. PCH has change my life. OK I was already going to the gym, but now I go with new light at the end of the tunnel. Yes the rest that I get is way better than ever before, I rest wake up refreshed and ready for a new day, now that wasn't like that before.. The best, is learning to get real with your self. I have been going to Positive Changes and am almost finished with my course. In that time I have learned how to get to sleep better( you know those times when you get up to go to the bathroom and then cannot get back to sleep as your mind starts whirling about what you need to do the next day???) Well, I do not so that anymore and I have lost some weight and certainly have learned how to loss more. The personnel there are very pleasant and certainly nice about scheduling and helping you make up sessions that you have had to cancel due to weather, illness or other circumstance--ie child watching. I recommend the program to help with several te=things going on in your life -learning to relax, talking to a counselor(who are all very helpful and easy to engage.) After trying several types of restricted food type of diets, I knew that I before I just gave up I needed to try something else, so I went to Positive Changes. I recommend this program because there have been substantial changes for me. What I have found is that I can walkaway from food, I can throw away food, and I don't feel as if I have to eat all it. Buffet lines, I don't have to go back and refill my plate. While the results are not as fast as traditional food replacement programs (which I have tried twice before and have lost 50 lbs and then gained it all back). I feel as if these results, which are starting to show, will be long lasting. I recommend the program. Hi, I've been with Positive Changes for over 2 months now and in spite of myself have lost 20 pounds. All I have done is to follow the program and I have found my life changing. I eat healthier foods in smaller portions and I'm full; I exercize regularly because I actually want to and all without trying! The program is easy: no diets, no check-ups, no strict gym regimens. This is an absolute joke, I spent the money, or I should say wasted the money on a scam......The Bellevue office is the most unprofessional office i have ever been in, the staff are useless I watched 5 women try and hang a picture, I thought it was a comedy relief. None of the staff know their programs, they stumble through and you sit there scratching your head wondering what the heck is this??? Then, everyone of them are obese and so you wonder about the program....then the counclers look like a bunch of witches for back east, wearing these black pant suits that don't fit??? I started going to Positive Changes 8 months ago. I have lost 36 pounds and have gone from a size 26 to a size 18-20. My self esteem is much better and I'm beginning to think of myself as an attractive 69 year old great grandmother who has many years yet to enjoy. The counselors at Positive Changes have been very supportive and have encouraged me every step during my program.I no longer crave the 'white' comfort foods such as pasta and mashed potatoes, I am happier with a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt now. I eat much smaller portions and rarely snack. I am POSITIVE that I will continue to lose the weight and shrink into even smaller sizes of clothing, watch out size 14, here I come!!! read more

I've been struggling with weight loss for years. They helped me immediately with changing some bad behaviors and it happened just like magic, without me even thinking about it. All you have to do is sit quietly, relax and listen for a half hour a couple times a day - or more if possible. You do have to put in the time and I admit that sometimes its a big hassle, but this is important to me, so I make every effort to listen to my cds and attend a session weekly. I feel great, I've lost over 25 lbs in three months. I'm in this for the long term and plan to make some permanent changes so I don't end up back where I started (like most other diet plans). read more

I Have tried for most of my life to change my eating habits and failed. I started with positive changes in sept 2015 and have found a big change in the first week with a change in my need to stop every day [sometimes 2 x's a day] for fast food. I pass by many on my way to and from work. I have no desire to stop and all these months still do not think about wanting fast food...When I do stop it is for my family,and I end up with a salad...Another thing that I love is my quickness to relax now.I use to take a while to unwind and sleep was long in comming. I Started going to positive changes last oct, I have lost 28 lbs, my self esteem is way better. For the first time in my life I'm not calling myself fat!! I never drank water, now thats all I drink.. I eat healthier, I crave fruit which I never wanted before. My stress level is very low, My bosses at work even thanked me for doing positive changes, total change in my attitude!!
