Beer was good, but the food is delicious. Super cool place to visit when in Estes Park being next to The Stanley.

There are normally several food trucks that surround the Barrel which gives you a lot of food choices. You can bring your food inside and then imbibe on great selection of adult beverages they have to enjoy your food with. Dog water bowls are provided throughout the establishment if your pups thirsty add well. Fun place to stop and fill your tank!

Our kids (14 & 12) are experienced pool players; we typically play together as a family or let them play a game on their own while we enjoy a few rounds. We've been in 4 times this week alone and were welcomed every time. Today, we were abruptly told they couldn't play due to a 16+ rule by a young bartender who has always allowed us to play. He mentioned that the owner doesn't like kids playing and there is a sign. While there is a sign posted behind the wall and not clearly marked, it has been completely ignored by staff and other families for the years we've been coming here, and certainly wasn't mentioned during our other visits this week. Even today, it seemed to be selectively enforced. If a family is respectful, knows how to use the equipment properly, and has been welcomed all week, there should be some common sense and hospitality applied--especially for repeat customers. To allow it for days and then suddenly change the rules on our 5th visit is just poor hospitality and frankly feels slightly discriminatory.

The Hive is on the second floor with live music. The dinning room was packed, but we got a comfy booth by the window overlooking the brewery room. Cool. We ordered some appetizers from today's special menu. Appetizers were $5-$9, their beers were $5. Pork ribs were tender and very tasty. Beef sliders were good size. From the regular menu, The gaming tray was perfect to share with various meats (elk, bison, salami) and cheese, bread, and fresh pickles. Fish n chips, salad with chicken, and airline chicken were right on point. My favorite was airline chicken, it was very delicious, good sauce and paired well with mashed potato and green beans. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and provided good recommendations. We ordered beers, blueberry wheat and Honey wheat. Good beers, but it's a bit slow to get them. We didn't expect to get them after we finished the appetizers. Our server reported that the bartender was new, so we understood. The manager came to check in and gave us a discount on beer. Thank you!

So I will just start naming things. Bernice was incredible. Full stop. She and the team made the entire evening feel effortless, which anyone who has planned an event for 115 people knows is the hardest trick to pull off. They greeted every guest with a pianist playing and a quick cocktail bar going right as people walked in, and the whole place immediately had the warmest, most welcoming energy. Our families spread out and mingled across the bar, the banquet room, and the patio like they had been coming here for years. And that patio. It sits right over a river with full mountain views and it is genuinely stunning. Multiple family members took one look at it and said some version of "okay, I see why you live here." That is the Wapiti effect. They also brought in Malort, which, to be clear, is a truly disgusting liquor. But to a room full of Midwesterners it somehow speaks to our souls, and the fact that The Wapiti cheerfully tracked some down for us was both hilarious and exactly the kind of above-and-beyond move that made the night. Now, the food. They set up an appetizer bar that was somehow always full, and it was so good that when dinner was actually served, both Vanessa's family and mine were genuinely flabbergasted to learn that the spread we had been happily grazing on for an hour was just the warmup. The real dinner blew us away. Then, as if to show off, they set up a dessert bar in another room entirely. At that point we just surrendered. The scenery is gorgeous, the staff was on it all night, the drinks were flowing, and the whole thing was the most Colorado, most friendly vibe you could possibly ask for. We love The Wapiti and we stop in anytime we are in town. If you are looking to host an event of any kind, stop your search. This is it. Truly an incredible evening that blew us completely away. Ten out of five stars. We do not make the rules, we just wish the rules let us give them more.

It was prime rib night and i was excited to order. The prime rib was blah and unseasoned. The baked potato was good. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was not good. They also offer meads, mulled cider, and an entirely new food menu that pairs perfectly with the drinks. There's clearly a lot of thought going into the experience now. We also heard a new deck area is coming soon, plus plans for a paella night--which honestly sounds amazing and gives us even more reason to come back. If you haven't been to Snowy Peaks recently, it's absolutely worth another visit. They're doing great things and it's becoming a must-stop spot in Estes Park.

It came with a decent portion of meat on a very tasty bun. You also get one choice of sides: coleslaw, fries, homemade kettle chips, smoked beans, side salad ($2 extra), Mac and cheese. I opted for the smoked beans. Flavor was good. However, beans were way undercooked and had much too much sweetness to them. I would definitely not order them again. My partner ordered the same sandwich with the Carolina BBQ sauce and had the coleslaw for the side. It was a typical coleslaw and nothing different from the usual or expected. My favorite Aunt ordered the smoked chicken club and she was very pleased. The chicken had a very nice taste of smoke without being overpowering which is easy to do with chicken. The kettle ships that she ordered were homemade and delicious. (sidenote: when asked, the server had no idea if the kettle chips were made in-house from from a bag) Overall, it wasn't a bad place to eat. If I was in town again, personally, I would probably try another place but not because this establishment was bad in any way, just to get experience elsewhere. I would not recommend the smoked beans side dish and the staff need more training on the menu so that she doesnt look silly in front of customers when answering questions.
