We had our appointment scheduled ahead. There were no emergent issues. The second visit didn't require any scans. The lobby has a tv and a fish tank and a desk to check in at. Fairly standard stuff. The dentist chairs were not individual rooms but an open space where parents or significant others can be seated by the dental chair. I didn't see an OR for emergencies but we also didn't come in with any issues. The hygienist saw her first and the doc came behind to look at the mouth add some additional notes. Our kiddo still has those baby teeth which we expect will fall out in the next year. Doc and hygienist were great. All in all an easy visit in and out in 30 mins. Next visit will be 6 months from now.

I was trying to request a late afternoon appointment for my son 6 months out after his cleaning and they could not accommodate, telling me that they schedule top down now. So I guess the late afternoon slots are a lottery system or maybe they pick and choose.. They told me to call a week before the appt to request the 4pm slot - despite telling me that everyone wants those slots. Why act like they will be available? That's why I want to book 6 months in advance. Not only that, the dentist walked away without telling me absolutely anything about my son's teeth. The staff also didn't know when his last xrays were. I asked if insurance covered it, she said it depends on the scan and I asked what scan? Insurance covers the whole teeth scan... So I said... Uhh...yes that - clearly wasn't there to pay for a partial scan? So confusing when it didn't need to be. Also, I was not offered to be able to sit with my son while getting his teeth cleaned. I had to ask the front desk lady if I can go back there after being told to sit in the waiting room. The dentist and director of operations called my son's mom to apologize and bring her into this when she wasn't even there. Not me. Did not ask for my number. Did not ask to apologize to me. That's not right at all. Also, apparently that was the time to talk about my son's teeth and not at the appt??? Also, reportedly claimed I caused a scene. I'm sorry for pointing out the flaws in the system, and the staff's lack of training. You cannot tell me I caused a scene when a lack of professionalism and organization was shown to me - especially the dentist. We didn't want to switch dentists, but now I'm not so sure we'll get the service we deserve anymore here after all this. It's just not right.

And I can't say enough about how cute their waiting room is. They catered to my daughters interests by playing Frozen above her chair and mixing a little bit of play into her exam. Dr. Mary answered all my questions and was ver informative about dental health practices for toddlers. At the end of the appointment my daughter walked out with a balloon, goodie bag with new tooth brush, floss, stickers and a item from their treasure chest! She did not want to leave!

My review is not based on their attitude. It is based on my child's experience with their dental care. My child had been a patient here for just under 2 years before we switched to a different doctor based off the inadequate care we received from Pediatric Smile Studio. First of all, their X-ray machine has not been functional for several months now. As such, my child missed getting an x-ray at the last checkup late last year. I was told to check back later about scheduling an X-ray appointment once the machine was functional again. I called back a month later. Still not working. A month after that. Still down. At this point, my child had a visible cavity, and I stressed my concern, asking if they had an alternate dentist performing X-rays for them. There didn't seem to be a solid back up plan in place, and seeing a cavity in my child's tooth prompted me to pursue a different dentist. At the current dentist, they were concerned about FOUR different spots (I had only been informed about the possibility of one potential cavity at PSS). After running X-rays, they identified that two of the cavities needed fillings. One was so bad, my child needs a root canal and crown. The current dentists suspects that this cavity took about a year to form. Keep in mind, we had been patients of PSS for around 2 years at this point. Meanwhile, I had only been informed about the possibility of one at Pediatric Smile Studio. Also, this suspected cavity was noted on the patient file at PSS, yet I was not made aware of it until the next checkup six months later. I really would have appreciated being notified about it more promptly. If I had, the root canal and crown could have been prevented. Overall, it is inexcusable that my child was a regular patient of Pediatric Smile Studio for almost two years, never missing an appointment, and four cavities (2 extensive) were identified immediately at his first appointment elsewhere. Parents, beware!

The initial phone call was very simple and I was able to schedule an appointment for an initial visit and cleaning and they also emailed the documents to complete prior to my visit so that I could be prepared beforehand. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking available outside. We were greeted by a friendly woman at the front desk and were able to quickly check-in and hang over our paperwork. The kids were able to play with the toys and they lit up once they saw the gaming space (one tv had Minecraft and the other had a Super Mario game.) Every single dental assistant and hygienist was VERY friendly and just so sweet and welcoming. They were so kind to my 3 year old daughter who joined me for the appointment and even included her (she has never been to a dentist just yet). Dr. Shoemaker is awesome! So bubbly and friendly, he came in and greeted us, started chatting with my son and instantly made him feel comfortable. We never once felt rushed or out of place. It was very warm and happy experience for both of my kiddos! My son's cleaning and exam was successful, then they allowed both kids to pick out a prize and even gave them balloons.
