Go to this dental office if you want your insurance benefits maxed out and a surprise bill showing up in your mailbox later. They openly admit they do not verify EOBs because it's considered a "courtesy service," yet they have no problem upselling unnecessary treatments like nitrous oxide for children -- knowing it may not be covered by insurance and isn't always medically necessary. This office caused me so much stress that I transferred my child to another dentist for a second opinion. Turns out only 1 of the 3 molars they claimed needed treatment actually needed work. That alone says enough. SCAMMERS ! Oh and they don't tell you the charges until arrival. I've received 3 different charges for one tooth and a surprise text for a balance owed. Contacted Human Resources to have the 216.00 charge removed after paying $130 and having Aetna insurance. The wait to tell you the charges part of the strategy & then they have you sign the estimate to throw in your face that you signed it. Organized CRIME, on to the BBB for my next review on them... The front desk staff were nonchalant and unhelpful throughout the process, and management seemed more focused on swiping cards than properly running the office or helping patients understand charges and treatment plans. I guess those fancy decorations and showroom-style furniture have to get paid for somehow. . Don't waste your time here it's all about the money and charges. They will use up your insurance just on fees and up sales, and also have you to pay out of pocket. Wish I could leave 0 stars. First let me say the dr and most of the staff here are great. Everyone is so kind and they do deserve a 5 star. They are the only reason I have continued to bring my children here. It's unfortunate that because of one person I have to leave this review. That being said My issue is only with the coordinator for the orthodontist I believe her name is kristal. Her attitude is atrocious and her customer service skills are lacking. She is aggressive, rude, and inconsiderate to patients and their parents. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY !! I have never in my life been treated so so badly by the owner of a business until today. This was our second visit back to this office to have an abscess tooth pulled from my 5 yr old daughter. The first visit was both of my kids cleanings. I wasn't too fond of the doctor we had originally spoke with but I knew that my daugther's tooth need to be pulled so we were going to stick it out until it was done and then probably find a different dentist. We show up today to have the tooth pulled. They tell me my charge, which I didn't know until today, whatever, I paid it. Myself and both my kids are here. One of the owners, which I had never met until today, walks in and before greeting me, she tells my 8 year old to go sit in the waiting room. I told her he couldn't do that bc I was by myself and my daughter wasn't going to let me leave her alone. The owner crossed her arms and rolled her eyes several times while talking to me. Saying smart remarks back to me like " your kids go everywhere with you" after telling her I was a single mom. After about 5 mins of us going back and worth, she says "I'll come back when you have calmed down" She returns and tells me that she could refer me out bc since I wasn't happy with my 1st appt that they weren't going to preform the removal of the tooth. So I clarified and said " the tooth isn't going to be pulled" she states " are you going to do it" Never in my life have I ever been disrespected like that at a place of business. Can I give no stars? Laura has absolutely NO business working with kids!! Despite my lengthy explanation of my kids anesthetic issues; which I have to repeat at every visit because they never seem to remember or add it to their file; Laura impatiently talked over me the entire time and pulled my son's tooth AFTER it was no longer numb. The anesthetic only lasts 10-15 minutes on him, and he came of the chair screaming as she jerked multiple times on his tooth. She then proceeded to tell him it didn't hurt and he was making it up. I asked to see the records to see if the tooth had even been numbed and at what time. Instead of those details; there was a full page write-up about how 'overly involved' of a parent I was and even complained that I asked them to stop for a minute when he started heaving so he didn't throw up. She then tried holding my 7yo down and kicking me out of the room for being uncooperative after watching what happed with her brother. Not happening! . (Yes, I complained to management and they "feel we need to part ways"). read more

I have three boys and have been to 3-4 different dentists around Woodstock/Canton. i have to say that this is the best one we have found. It is a smaller office with one pediatric dentist (her husband is the orthodontist) and a small staff. They are all wonderful and treat my boys like their own. The dentist herself is so sweet and my boys love her. This is also one of the few dentists that allow you to go back with your child no matter what, although my oldest feels so comfortable, he doesn't need me anymore. I feel like so many dentists today are just trying to get you to pay for unnecessary procedures and even "inventing" cavities. I trust this place 100% and I'm so glad we found it. read more

I can't say enough about this dentist office. My 3 children go there and love their visits. I completely trust their treatment plans and love that the orthodontist didn't push a set of braces on my son until he was 13 to see if his jaw widened. This started out as a second opinion but instead Nia has become our daughter's only dentist/orthodontist. The doctors are wonderful and take time to go over EVERYTHING very thoroughly. The technicians are all very personable and my daughter has responded well to all of them. They explain what she should do or shouldn't do, and she learns something each time. Nia also has brought in great dental tech, using digital 3D imaging and computerized xrays. At her 'old' dentist, my daughter would leave uncomfortable and even getting her there was a huge battle. Now she doesn't complain about going to the dentist and when we leave, she knows what to do for her own health. This was the best switch for care we could have made! read more

They were not concerned about my concerns for my 3 year old.. she was screaming and crying and they continued and just said to hold her down.. they told me obviously not all procedures are comfortable for a patient ( this is my daughters first experience with a dentist ever) I held my baby close and made it very clear I will never be coming back!! 25 kids in that place at one time.. 10 in the waiting room, and every office room full!! Unfortunately, the office staff was very inept at filing our dental insurance in a timely manner and after repeated phone calls we finally decided to file it ourselves. Additionally, they also misinformed us of what would be covered by insurance, which caused us to have to pay a significant amount out of pocket, which we are still dealing with. We are not sure if all the procedures were truly necessary or just a way to make money. Lastly, our son is special needs and the hygienist had little patience with trying to get an x-ray, even bringing in additional help who also had little patience after our child gagged each time the bitewing was placed in his mouth. After much frustration they finally gave up. It is unfortunate that all of this has happened because we did like Dr. Nia and the calm she brought to ease our child's anxieties. read more

Please think before you go here. It may be that they clean teeth well, I don't know, but their treatment to patients and competence is appalling. They will not go the extra mile to gain new business. We brought both daughters from Chamblee to this location because my insurance + the lady who I spoke with on the phone while making the appt. with Nia assured me all I would pay is the $30 copay. When I arrive I'm told however that's not the case and I could pay $143 per kid and send to my insurance to dispute - and we all know that's not a feasible option. Both children missed school and both parents took off the morning from work to drive 30 min+. That didn't seem to matter, they didn't even care to know situation. When I got in car and was able to speak with BCBS after not getting a teeth cleaning for the girls (both in tears as was their 1st dentist appt) they confirmed yes you are right it would be $30. She was nice enough to call the office and they said oh sorry we pulled up the information for the standard plan even though I gave them my card twice prior to the appointment by email and text and at the office when I arrive both parents gave their cards for them to review. Needless to say, they don't deserve good families and good business. read more

Amazing place for my little girl's (3 yrs old) first appointment! Everyone was so nice and kid friendly making my daughter feel like she was playing. I am very pleased with Nia! I took my son in for a cleaning and an orthodontics consult. EVERY OTHER DENTIST I've been to in the last 10 years has found some way to charge me above and beyond my insurance every.single.time I had an appointment. It was highway robbery......but not Nia. They performed the service I requested and did not hit me w/ "surprise" charges at the end. Their staff were all very pleasant and kind. My son has big anxiety about dentists (who doesn't?!?) and the atmosphere alone put him immediately at ease. Their payment plan for braces was very reasonable and I felt like it was very well explained to me and even more importantly, they really explained what the "plan" is to fix my son's smile. Nia dentistry: Amazing team of Doctors and the staff is awesome. I took my 6 year old autistic child (I was terrified) since he doesn't like to be touch by strangers. Jessica was beyond amazing!!!! It was the first time EVER that anyone has been able to take X-rays to my child!!! Jessica was very loving and calmed him down and was able to take all the pictures with ease. The hygienist Emilee was very nice and patient with my child. I will only trust NIA and staff to take care of my 3 children's dental needs. The dentist herself is very good- however, I was warned to always watch billing by other clients. That proved to be true. Frequently I was overcharged because of errors in their system with dealing with insurance. Today there was another issue. I stated, "you can appreciate my frustration as I feel like I'm sitting in this chair dealing with financial issues more than my children are sitting in those chairs (indicating the dentist chair)" The Lady dealing with finances responded with an attitude "We agree. I feel like you should find another dentist" Well done... And done! Again I would like to point out that the errors were always made by their staff and not myself. However, I was treated like I had done something wrong. So if you choose this dentist - I would advise you to always look at your billing and be prepared to be treated very rudely and disrespectfully. read more

Without hesitation I can honestly say my kids have had the best experience here. The staff makes then kids feel comfortable in their atmosphere, but most importantly the dentist (Dr. Azi) is patient and explains to the kids in terms they understand to make them feel that much more comfortable during her exam and procedures. We are also about to move forward with braces due to being a patient of the practice for the past 1.5 years. I've been using Nia for about 2 years and me and my kids absolutely love both doctors. At first, we just used the practice for general dentistry, but my son got braces a month ago. The time and patience both doctors and staff use with children is amazing. The way everyone explains what they are doing before they do it helps with the comfort level for the kids. I had my daughter go to this location. They make you sign a waiver that you will leave the room if they start crying (definitely not industry standard). They told us it wouldn't be a problem. They respond all over the place that they want to provide great care, but I took my daughter in for a basic cleaning and she started crying like a 2 year old does. They told my wife step aside and when she said she didn't feel comfortable. They proceeded to tell her that her parents were never coming back, then held her down, then got mad when she scratched them...all for a basic cleaning....not a very good way to start a positive relationship with the dentist. I'm sure they'll respond to some PR style response but trust me when I say YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO HERE! I would expect this in the backwoods rural area, but certainly not from a metro county that surrounds a large city int he US. read more
