They wanted to charge me $3.50 just to print one page from their email. BEYOND RIDICULOUS. Staples charges .50 cents and UPS store $1.00 to do the same thing. The man at the counter was on the phone, so I stupidly handed it to him and didn't ask for a receipt. Apple never received it, and I'm out $180 dollars. Got called "a piece of sh!t" by Ken (Kanwal) the owner today. I've really had enough of him. I've been a continuing customer here for eight years only because there used to always be an employee who was nice and a buffer to not have to deal with Ken. Ken and I have a history of butting heads. The first unforgivable time was a few years ago when his Internet wasn't working at the store and he asked me to fix it (it's my profession and he knew it since I have a business account there.). I was clear at the time of doing the work that this was a business transaction and he'd be billed. I fixed the problem and billed him. He offered to pay about 25% of the invoice. I told him this wasn't a negotiation. I've never attempted to negotiate my mailbox fees, notary service fees, outgoing postage fees, passport photos, or any of the other services at his business that I've bought and paid for over the years. I thought maybe his business wasn't doing well (It isn't, he's candidly admitted so.) and the cash outlay might be a burden so I offered for him to pay by providing credit towards my mailbox service. He refused. I decided it wasn't worth the effort to pursue further and wrote it off as a business loss. I also swore I'd give him no further business, but continued to give him business out of laziness and he, at the time, still had a nice employee as a buffer; no more, now you have to deal with Ken exclusively. Today I was given an "Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent" by Ken. No big. The form is a requirement at any mailbox service store and gives them legal permission to handle your mail. I filled the form out in 2015 when I started giving Ken/Postal Plus business. Today I asked him why I was given the form. He told me everyone has to fill one out and I was the only who didn't do it yet. I told him I filled it out before years ago. I asked him if he had it on file. (Again I'll state that this is a requirement.) He refused to answer. He told me he didn't have time. I asked him "You don't have time to answer a yes/no question?" and so the argument began. I never refused the fill out the form AGAIN. I just asked for the reasoning. He wouldn't give it. The key points of the conversation that ensued are that he said: #1 He'll close my mailbox account #2 That I'll hear from his lawyer #3 That I'm a piece of sh!t. There's more to the story. I have a missing package that Ken is possibly keeping from me... I picked up my mail about two weeks prior and there was a notice that a package had arrived for me. I was not expecting a package. It was after hours and there was no one to give me the package or inquire about it. It wasn't a priority to me since I didn't know what it was and I had no other choice but to pick it up another day. Today was the day as I had a new expected package arrive. I asked Ken about the previous package and he couldn't find it or even acknowledge that it existed. This part all mixes in with his demand for me to fill out the "Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent" where I also did state that if he didn't have it on file then he'd been accepting and handling my mail illegally for 8 years. I asked him to find my missing package and he completely ignored me. I explained that though I wasn't expecting a package to the mailbox, there was a package I thought was coming to my house three weeks ago that never arrived and that its possible the package might have been sent to my mailbox instead. I described to Ken the package would be a tube with blueprints in it and it was important. He made no further effort to find the package. There was another customer in the store who had to unfortunately deal/listen to Ken and I arguing. Admittingly, I did get loud. (Nature gave me a loud voice and when I'm angry or excited I do get louder.) I apologized to him, the other customer, twice. Hey guy, if you're out there and ever read this review - Sorry about the mess. I've had enough. I've had enough of Ken. He's crossed the line before and I forgave and forgot; not again. I actively support small businesses. USUALLY they provide better and more personal service. You won't find that at Postal Plus; at least not when Ken, the owner, is minding the store. Look elsewhere, there are about three other mailbox stores within less than a two mile radius. read more

This is one of those places you go to out of necessity, and unfortunately due to that fact, the clerk there, Ken, is one of the most rude and revolting people I've ever dealt with. I came here for a couple of passport photos, and was in and out in 10 minutes. Two photos cost me just under $11, and the quality was spot on. What is funny is the fact they use a regular camera, canvas, and printer for the photos, but they still came out nice. Sure, there are places with professional-grade camera setups but I don't think that alone warrants the exorbitant prices charged. Postal Plus does the job. No excuses or BS whatsoever. read more

Rude. Increased prices and played as if the price has stayed the same for years. I have receipts that it's been increasing and almost doubled. Charges for every little thing. Charges to drop off prepaid packages? That's ridiculous. When asked for help on mail forwarding, brushes it off and says it's not his problem. Sad because the limited interactions throughout the years were petty. I think the worst part is that it truly feels like this place doesn't care about its customers. Oh well, live and learn. I'm just confused - why have a big USPS sign in your window and turn me away? There were zero customers in there and he says I have to go to the post office because it is prepaid. Guess, no service for you if he isn't going to make any money off of you. What a bummer. That effects whether or not I use your other services. This seems common in these types of places - it has happened at another postal shop and I was told later they are supposed to take it if they have the USPS approval. I needed to get some documents notarized and thos business was very nice on the phone, and their prices were more than reasonable. The documents I had were signed previously from about 12 months prior. I asked on the phone before coming, "Is this a problem? If it is, I can print different papers and sign them when I come to the store." They said on the phone, "no problem. Just come in." I went in, the guy behind the counter right away sees the previously dates signature and says, "This will be a problem." Left the store frustrated because apparently no one in the office knows what's going on. Someone will tell you one thing, and then you go I. And it's another. Tha is for nothing Poatal Plus. Just left this place, and the employee/owner/or whatever cussed me out on my way out. This business is not even worth one star on Yelp, or even be in business. AVOID AT ALL COST! It all started back in June. I was in the process of submitting my application to the CA state board of pharmacy, and the last requirement of the lengthy process was to submit a Live Scan. I shopped around, and this place was the cheapest. It had a good rating on yelp, and decided that this was the place to complete my Lives Scan. No appointment needed. Service was quick, and the service was nothing to complain about. I sent of my packet, and waited for pharmacy technician licensed to be issued. Now, September, my license is over due! I got a letter in the mail saying that my application was put on hold because the Live Scanner omitted my social security! I brought it up to the employee (the same one that cussed me out on the way out), and he said that there was nothing he could do for me. I paid $69 dollars for the live scan! The main thing that is required (social security) was not sent out. Live scan operators mistake. The employee said he could do it for me again, but that I had to pay for it again!! WOW. Avoid this place if you are looking to get a live scan. Cheap is not always good! Lesson learned here. read more

Used to really like this place, until it transferred ownership. Photocopying is still the cheapest I've found in the area, and the previous owner was able to do $5 notaries. Closed my box here and owner said he was unable to give me a printout or any kind of written confirmation. Had a key to have 24 access that I put a $10 deposit down for, that was never returned to me. Mail forwarding here is nonexistent, unless you are willing to pay something in the neighborhood of $4 for EACH piece of mail forwarded. If you plan to close your box, I'd suggest making sure you have all your mail forwarded to your new address ahead of time to ensure no mail goes to your box prior to closing the account. According to USPS policy, they do not provide mail forwarding with boxed addresses; it's a principal-agent partnership that has to be resolved between you and the box owners. read more

It seems that the owner just wants to nickel and dime his customers. I was mailing a small package (prepaid) and I just needed to close the box - 8-12 inches of tape needed. The owner claims, "I need to charge you $1. I'm not making money from this transaction." I've used their services before such as key duplicate, notary, etc. A business obviously has to make money, but being customer service driven is more important in today's business environment. $1 gain to the business = Future business lost from me (definitely greater than $1). I wanted to give this business the benefit of the doubt being a small business, but right now there's no benefit and just doubt! read more

I've had a mailbox here for the past 14 years. Prices are reasonable and I'm usually able to get in and out very quickly, even when I have to sign for packages I've received. As an independent contractor, it's great to have one place where you can get everything done, mail, copies, shipping, etc. The store has changed owners 3 times and I am very pleased with the current ownership (over the last one). A man of very few words, but the service was quick. I needed a form notarized and I was having some serious issue trying to find a location that wasn't a mobile by appointment only. Have had a mail box here for over 4 years. Everything was fine until the last half of 2015 and so far 2016. Their mail service has not gone well. I think it's because the owner does not have enough staff to handle both the mail and customers. He also hires people who are incompetent. The owner says one thing, but his staff does something else. The owner does not apologize or correct the mistakes. - Rejected Packages: UPS dropped off a small package (book) properly addressed to me and my box and someone at Postal Plus rejected the package. The sender resent the package and again Postal Plus rejected it. I talked to the owner asking why and he said he would never do that. I showed him the address label and reject slip from UPS and he said he has no idea how that happened. - Miscounted packages: They leave red slips in your box if you have a package to pick up. The problem is you can have say 3 packages waiting for you to pick up but they only put in 2 red slips. So you have to bug them with a tracking number saying that you know for a fact that your 3rd package is there. Be sure you have your package tracking numbers! - Missing packages. They supposedly scan every package that comes into their business. That's not true. I've had packages delivered to this place that the owner claims is not in their scanned system. I show him the tracking number and demand he go look for it...surprise my package is there in their back room. He doesn't apologize. - Other people's mail in my box. I've seen other people's mail in my box. This worries me. Is my mail going into someone else's box ? Overall this place for mail box service is good say 80% of the time. My mail and packages are very important to me, so It's that other 20% of recent consistent screw ups that is causing me to close my box. read more

I was visiting from out of state and needed to pack and ship several stringed instruments cross country. Postal Plus at 11024 Balboa Granada Hills was the perfect choice. Two employees spent over an hour carefully padding each box inside and out, in some cases customizing the box to accommodate unusual shapes. Each box was secured with heavy duty packing tape followed by a final wrap with strapping tape. All seven boxes arrived on time in perfect condition.
