I had a frustrating experience at this FedEx Ship Center when trying to return an item using Fashion Pass's prepaid shipping label. Despite the label already covering the shipping costs, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $5 for shipping. Additionally, I was informed about a $30 membership fee, which was not initially disclosed. This extra cost seemed unreasonable, leading me to believe this location is overpriced. For future shipping needs, I recommend considering the FedEx center on the other side of the island, as it may offer more transparent and fair pricing. UPDATE: The business owner is now threatening fraud for malicious intent!? WILD. I walked into the store yesterday before noon to drop off my package when the man at the desk said it'll be $5 to get a receipt with tracking for my package that was already paid for. I drop off these packages at least twice a month for the past 2 years and have never experienced this issue -- from authorized ship centers or FedEx. My review is not emotional; it's just factual. There are fees associated here that I have never seen at other businesses. I hope that my review allows others to understand what is happening before they go in. I understand your "business" but others should be aware of the costs. I went to Postal Annex down the street and had a much pleasant experience dropping off my package. Rip off. I go there to print one black and white piece of paper and they charge me $2.50. Postal Annex is literally $.50 for the same thing. I know because I just did it there too. I explain this to the guy and he tells me if I owned a business I would understand. I tell him that I do own a business and I don't understand. It's like 1,000x markup. If I charged my clients 1,000x markup I wouldn't have any. He tells me $2 for the email and $.50 for the print. Ridiculous. What does an email cost? Nothing. What's one single sided piece of paper cost him? $.20, maybe. Last time I was there I spent hundreds+ shipping Christmas gifts to clients. Done that many times. That's never happening again, as I clearly overpaid. read more

UPDATE: It is September and the owner of Postal Unlimited wrote a response to my review from April. Instead of trying to rectify the situation, or just simply apologizing for an unpleasant experience.... the owner... 5 months later... wrote a long-winded response about how customers call in "already angry" and assumed I had no understanding of UPS policies.... which I'm aware of and have no problem with. To clarify - Postal Unlimited's employee rudely cut me off multiple times while I was explaining the situation. I wasn't in a hurry for this particular package and understand that Postal Unlimited isn't UPS and doesn't do deliveries for UPS. The employee refused to listen to me, while she was having a side conversation using expletives right in my ear... with another employee. I'm guessing the owner wasn't present because had she been, I don't think the employee would have talked to me the way she did on the phone. The employee I spoke with was frankly awful, and the owner stands behind her terrible behavior. There are many other great postal options on the island if you can avoid coming here. read more

My friend had the worst experience here. They have been price gouging and taking advantage of a local senior. A package sent to her grandchildren for Christmas, a light package , she was charged 217$! The next day I suggested we try UPS, the same size and weight package was 19$. This is horrible , to take advantage of a senior citizen like that. They are awful people. They get a zero rating. read more

I've been coming here to Postal Unlimited in Coronado for 5 months. The lovely couple that owns and operates this business are absolutely wonderful. They are so nice, patient, understanding, reliable, hard working, and consistent. I highly recommend receiving your mail here because it will always be safe and secure. They also have a very nice store with a cute flamingo that greets you at the door. Inside, there are gifts and cards and they will help you with all of your shipping needs. UPDATE: The owners kindly replied to my review. I do appreciate the packaging - thank you! I came here to purchase a box for something that I needed to ship. Of course, you have to expect that in Coronado, you're going to pay a bit more than what you would pay in San Diego, and also, you will pay extra for convenience. I didn't mind paying a couple of dollars (for a box. That said, I did expect a new box. The box I was given was clearly used. This business is veteran-owned and I do like to support such businesses, especially if they are local. I'm not saying I wouldn't come here again for other services, but I would not come here again to buy a box or other type of package for shipping. Please read the bad reviews and go with those in making your choice. The owners are rude,unprofessional and they will Rip you off. They charge you $2 for each package that won't fit in your mailbox so imagine how much money they get from this! There hours are posted from 11-4pm but no one is ever there till 11:30 or 12. Also they are never there till 4pm. When I asked politely, about why they didn't follow their posted hours, I was greeted very rudely by the woman owner. I have lived in Coronado over 50 year's and this business is the worst I have came across. I'm going to be taking the $2 fee up with the Better Business Bureau and City of Coronado. Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your precious time and money here. Do yourself and just don't- First, there are multiple, similar companies on Coronado that offer a much wider range of available access hours, for a better price. Second- after the initial smiles and great service I think you'll find customer service transitions into a childish if not adversarial, tit for tat, business relationship. I use these PO boxes services all over the country and normally do a bit of due diligence by reading the reviews, first. Here, unfortunately, that came after the fact, as I was short on time. The thing that came through to me when I did see the negative reviews was the nature of the responses from the owners. Judge for yourself, but rather than the usual professional and somewhat generic response of "there was a misunderstanding, we tried to make it right, we hope you'll understand"... The replies seemed very, tit for tat, and unprofessional. That's usually a real red flag and I wondered if I'd find myself in a similar situation. Low and behold, I had multiple issues, exacerbated because I'm a merchant seaman, at sea most of the time, with limited internet access. I needed this box for just a few days to receive packages while in town for a week. I was told I couldn't cancel my $75.00 renewal without a 2 week notice (that's a new one on me, especially given California refund laws). There was some odd reference to a "CRMA" and "not being a day by day service". I tried seeking clarification through email questions, but unfortunately, this company uses some odd messaging system, that truncates, then sends replies in partial sentences across multiple emails, obfuscating communication with them. Most disturbing was the nature of the responses which reflected those of the review responses in that they gave the impression these owner's had a bit of a chip on their shoulder and confrontations with customers were the norm vs. the exception. I think what you're dealing with here are a couple of kids, who don't have a ton of customer service or business experience and haven't learned yet that in the long run it's more profitable to build a good reputation then to nickel and dime individual customers on small transactions. I had to ship roughly $900 of hard-to-replace mathematics books to my new office in Scotland. Yes, you read that right. I had been trying to work with the USPS, and I was concerned about tracking and replacement value. On top of that, as I'm moving overseas, I ALSO needed to set up a Coronado mailbox, as overseas forwarding of mail is something else the beleaguered USPS doesn't do. Billy worked with me every step of the way, keeping in touch via phone, outlining the best way to accomplish both tasks in detail before I ever set foot in the door, repacking my books and and papers in nested, double-walled boxes (we used FedEx to ship them). His lovely co-worker (also a Notary Public!) set up my private mailbox, and a schedule for collecting, sorting / tossing and forwarding my mail. What had been 10 days of searching and phoning and driving and interviewing, and HASSLE (NB: that's me driving around San Diego talking to USPS postal worker after USPS postal worker -- all of whom looked at me as though I had said I was relocating to Mars), turned into an hour of stress-free professionalism at Postal Unlimited. Postal Unlimited, and its staff, gets my highest recommendation. read more

I was responsible for shipping a vehicle for friends who had already moved to the East Coast. When the shipping company stated that it would not ship a car packed with household goods, I was forced to mail the contents--random household items which included shoes, ceramic pots, a framed photo and a large 4-foot decorative item. I took the items to Postal Unlimited to ship. The gentleman who helped me was professional and courteous. After assessing the items, he provided an estimate and shipping labels and I paid the fees. While I was in the store, the Postal Unlimited rep also took good care of another customer--a blind man who was trying to pick out a Valentine's Day card for a family member, describing each card and reading the inscription inside. Two hours later, he texted me a photo of the four boxes ready for shipment. My friends received the boxes on the estimated delivery date and were thrilled at the thorough packing of each item. Been using this facility for a long time and it was great. When Billy took it over it was still good. When his partner got involved it went down hill at a rapid pace. She is no business person but only interested in raising rates and giving poor service. They say their rates are lower than others in town. A little research shows that they are not. By far the best mailbox and shipping boutique in Coronado, with friendly, personable staff. We've rented a mailbox and done our shipping with Postal Unlimited for 10+ years, through at least one change of ownership, and the service just keeps getting better. Billy, the current owner, is a sharp, soft-spoken young guy who pays attention to what his customers need and want. Laurie, who manages the shop most days, could not be more smilingly helpful and courteous to all her customers. She's cheery, kind, and responsive on the phone, and when she spots my car she gets our mail and packages ready for me. We could not be happier. We have been customers of Postal Unlimited for over 10 years. The current owner, Billy, is great! He has been there since we've been customers, but has only taken ownership within the last year. We have been so happy with Billy and the customer service he has provided over the years, that we still do business with him even though we moved to Northern California about four years ago.
