RIP OFF REPORT!! I came here to mail out a gameboy game wherein I had shipped out a exact same package (gameboy game, same envelope, packaging, etc) the day before at a REAL post office and the price was DOUBLE here! $2 versus $4. I asked the guy if the shipping is the same as the USPS and he said yes but there is NO WAY. In fact when you think about it, a flat rate priority male envelope is only $5.20. How can a tiny video game be $4? I came here because I was doing my shopping in the plaza and thought it would be convenient. Now I know that they just try to rip you off. The scale here is probably rigged or he just tacks on extra to your total. DON'T COME HERE!! also the guy working here is gruff and rude. read more

I agree with other reviewers. The man that works there made it feel like he was doing me a favor. I may be misunderstanding how the process works but at other postal annex's, they type up the address and information and print a label for me, regardless of what type of shipping. At this location, I was given a blue sharpie to write on the padded envelope for the USPS First Class Mail Parcel option. The entire time I was writing up the address and what not, he was standing there tapping his fingers. read more

Zak is a total hoot, dry sense of humor, I see some customers don't get it....you have to roll with it. Yes, he tells you off, but he is JOKING people!! Maybe as I am a Brit, I don't know, we are a little like that ourselves, sarcastic etc...!!!He really helped me out today, great service, it was a tricky order, including food, dry ice etc, but it all got sorted out. I ended up behind the counter, helping with the credit card input, and he really knows his stuff. Had been to a few places in San Francisco, then was told to go here as you get the service, and I really did. I was going to San Bruno anyway, but would definitely always go back here in the future. Went there a couple days ago to get a paper notarized and the worker/owner I'm guessing, was hilarious. He may come off a little "unfriendly" at first... but after he had us laughing the whole time. He had a great sense of humor and made our little time there very memorable. He would even joke with some of his regular clients that came in while we were there. Place seemed a little unorganized, but hey! as long as he can find everything you need, right? read more

Now San Bruno has the worst post office I've ever encountered, so nothing beats that. But this Postal Annex place has so much potential if they could lose the attitude. I've been here several times, because it's quick and close and I've never had a problem with the price. But I too have endured the impatience, rude comments and generally bad customer service as others have mentioned. (Maybe such service is standard in other countries? I can't imagine.) The UPS place at San Bruno ave and El Camino is better, as is the Millbrae post office, try one of those. read more

I'm not sure why all the complaints. I've been going here for years for all services and have never had a problem. I can leave my pacakges there he boxes them up & they get there on time for the best rate possible. I'd much rather support a local business and skip CVS. read more

OK! Been a member of Yelp for awhile and i had to write a review of this place! I brought a 12lb tent to ship to the east coast. The lady weighed it and gave me shipping options, the cheapest was USPS at $60 and Fed Ex Ground was $105????? Are you guys for real! That is a rip off! Needless to say I took my package directly to a Fed Ex location and guess what!!!!! $25 for the same Fed Ex Ground shipping....I dont know who to report these overchargers to but i will find out! read more

I rarely write negative reviews. That said, if you need much of anything, do not go to this PostalAnnex. They are living in the last century and are not helpful - in fact, downright grumpy. They can't print from a thumb drive. They can't even print double sided copies. While I was there, they took a woman's passport picture, then he said it was broken after all and she would have to go to CVS. Just say no. read more

I see some rather negative reviews from what can only be snowflakes who work near by, look you're not eating at a 3 star restaurant in SOMA you are dropping off mail or getting documents notarized, its a freaking Postal Annex! LMAO. Anyhow, this place is cut and dry, and I rather prefer the style of customer service, I don't always want my butt kissed (think the Soup guy from Seinfeld). I had used this postal annex once or twice and noticed how rude the owner was, always barking at you, or being surly. I needed to return a dress to ebay, and the deadline for postmark was Sunday, 2/24. I work very close to this facility and brought my package with the prepaid label on Thursday, 2/20, around 1:30 pm. I walked in and politely asked the surly owner where to put my prepaid package. He gestured at a pile and I put mine there. As I walked out, I thought I heard him say something but wasn't sure, maybe that I had missed the pickup for Thursday? Now it's 2/25 and I received an email from ebay that my package was not postmarked by 2/24. He had 2 full days to do something simple. I agree with many of the other reviews, he is the worst small business owner I have ever come across. He cost me money, because my return will not be accepted now. For all I know, he tossed my package. I don't care if I have to wait in line at a REAL post office, I will never go there again. As one of the other reviewers said, he acts as if taking your money is a huge imposition, and he is doing you a major favor. He should be closed down. read more

OMG, what was I thinking. Out of shear desperation and to avoid a line at the post office I went into Postal Annex to send documents overnight to Irvine, CA. Since at one time in my life I was in the Mail Box Etc, thing I have a clue about the prices on products and rates. OK, not these rates. Overnight to Irvine via FedEx $55.81, I almost fell over. So I check UPS as well as USPS, USPS was $11.03 for a two day, UPS has already gone out. I refuse to send documents to Irvine, CA for $55.81. Documents went for two days. After feuding and stewing over the mark up and feeling that the owner is screwing the command man I called Longs Drugs to get their price, just as I thought, overnight to Irvine $14.00 around, USPS $6.00. How is that for a mark up? Talk about being screwed with out getting kissed. Unbelievable, Never again will I go into a Postal Annex, just think...if Postal Annex charges $55.00 for overnight and Longs charges around $14.00, than what would FEDEX charge? I'm thinking$6-$8. read more

This is the store I would give minus 10 stars if there is an option. Last Saturday I was trying to ship something from this store to my friend in Los Angeles. The old guy at the counter ( i guess he is the owner) got my shipping address, declared value and gave me the options to choose which postal couriers to use. I chose FedEx and he told me that the shipment would be arrived on Wednesday. I didn't have a box with me and so he got me a brown box at the end. My items were about 2.5lbs and the total charges were around $38 including the $3.75 box fee. For sure I know they did mark up the shipping charge a bit in order to make themselves a bit profitable. I understand that and I truly respect that. Instead of Wednesday, my friend only received the shipment on Thursday. When she sent me the picture of it, I was completely terrified. The old guy actually used a free-of-charge usps domestic box for my shipment instead of using the box that I paid for. So the story of he was trying to provide an outstanding service to wrap a shipment for his customers was just a process of stealing our money by secretly switching our prepaid boxes to free of charge boxes. There is not even a single wrapping paper or one little foam inside the box. The only thing he provided was a piece of tape that closed the box. I can't believe a business is making money with this practice, by stealing and lying to its customer. I know $3.75 is not a lot of money but the principal is that they stole money from their customers. I can't imagine I paid for something and they took it away and probably resell it to other customers. Delivery was delayed for a day probably because they changed the promised three-day services to regular ground service "behind my back again". This is truly disrespectful and he treated customer like a fool. What a Jerk!! This is my first time visit and I will never go back again. If you do care the money in your wallet, don't go there. read more
