Huge fan of the Los Gatos and Palo Alto locations in the Bay Area and was excited to hear of their opening in La Jolla! There is a continued standard of excellent Spanish food (hard to find in the US!) with a great selection of items on the menu. The ambiance is beautiful too with nicely set up tables and decorations, along with great angles from the sunlight. My favorites are the Pulpo Teleferic and all their paellas. This visit I ordered the Pulpo, Pollo Empanadas, Salmon Tartare, and Iberico Paella. For the Pulpo, I will say the sauce was a bit saltier than I remembered from the other locations but I am sure after being open for longer they'll get it right. The dish was still very good though as the octopus was cooked well. It was my first time trying the Iberico Paella and I was pleasantly surprised. Teleferic always does a great job with the rice in all their paellas, and this was no exception. The pork was also cooked very well. Overall, this restaurant is my favorite spot for Spanish food in the US and I'm glad to see them open more locations!

After reading a bunch of Yelp reviews, we took everyone's advice and put our Iberico Paella order in as soon as we sat down. Best decision! We started with a variety of tapas. The Pulpo Teleferic was a huge hit with the whole family--perfectly cooked and probably our favorite appetizer. The Tuna Tacos were tiny but packed with flavor. We upgraded the Patatas Bravas to Beast Mode; they were good, but didn't quite live up to the hype. The Pollo Empanadas were the biggest disappointment--the filling was just okay, and the "spicy aioli" tasted much more like plain mayonnaise than anything with a kick. Then came the star of the evening: the Iberico Paella. Absolutely outstanding. The smoked pork chop added incredible flavor, the chunks of pork belly were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the chicken was juicy, and the rice itself was perfectly seasoned. Every bite was worth the wait, and it's easily the dish that'll bring us back. We wrapped things up with the Trio of Desserts, which was a fun way to end the meal since everyone ended up picking a different favorite. For drinks, my husband loved the Fancy-a-Carrot cocktail--it was creative, refreshing, and easily the best drink of the night. The Al-Andalus Sour was good too, but it had a tough act to follow. The only downside was that many of the tapas came with just three pieces, so as a family of four we often had to pay extra just to get a fourth piece. Given that, we'd probably skip ordering so many tapas next time and save room for more paella. Service was exceptional - courteous and prompt. The upscale yet warm Spanish decor is very inviting. We'll definitely be back for our paella fix!

A few of the things I miss about Spain is the food and drinks. So when I found out San Diego was opening this restaurant, I knew I had to come here. ⁣ My sister and I came in HUNGRY. Everyone was so nice and friendly and the design inside and out was beautiful. Our server, Justin, suggested to split at least 4 tapas before our paella came out. ⁣ We split the following: ⁣ ⁣ * paella negra * salmon tartare * wagyu empenadas * patatas bravas and jamón * crab croquetas Everything we had was delicious. I ordered the Barcelona sangria and that was yummy, as well. If you're in San Diego and want to eat tapas, paella and yummy drinks, this is a place you should add on your list!

Came to this new Spanish restaurant in UTC. It actually originated in Barcelona so its supposed to be pretty legit. They are located across of Din Tai Fung and near Ramen Nagi and La Colombe. We were seated inside and got the Tuna Tacos, Gambas al Ajillo and the Paella Mixta. The Paella takes about 30 minutes to cook so order that first and order some appetizers while you wait. The 3 items were a good amount for 2 people if you had 3 people maybe another appetizer would have been fine. The tuna tacos were nice, crispy wonton shells stuffed with poke type ahi and dolips of avacado cream. The tacos reminded me of tuna poke tacos. The wonton shell was very crispy and added great texture to the tender tuna which was topped with chives and lightly marinated. The flavor was good but the texture was a little grainy, maybe previously frozen. Still very good though. Each taco (3) came with a wedge of lime to squeeze on top which cut thru the fatty avocado cream and tuna. The Gambas al Ajillo or garlic shrimp was slightly over cooked, not by much, maybe it just cooked more while resting. The shrimp were head on but they fell off easily, they were cooked in olive oil and came with toasted bread to dip in the olive oil. I squeezed some of the lime from the tuna tacos into the olive oil to cut thru the olive oil. Great move! I think you should ask for a wedge of lemon or lime to go with the dish. I sopped up all the oil with the bread and ate them with the shrimp. Bread doesn't come with dinner but i think you should order this in its place. It also came with wet naps which was nice to clean off your hands after. By the time we finished both appetizers, the paella was ready. The Mixta came with shrimp, chicken, pork belly and piquillo peppers. The rice was nicely done, it had a slight crispy bottom. The predominant flavor was tomato paste, the shrimp were just slightly over, and the chicken was ok, the pork belly was amazing! So tender and the fat just melted in your mouth. I liked when i got a bit of the piquillo pepper, it had a nice flavor i wish there were more of this. I think the shrimp for all the dishes were cooked at once and held then added to each dish as they were both overdone by the same amount in both dishes. Our server Natalia provided great service. There was also a complementary drink going around that they poured directly into your mouth. It was made with lemonade and prickly pear. It was kinda fun, i think there were a few more ingredients but those are the 2 that stood out most. The place is modern and cool, theres seating both inside and out. The bathroom is a shared common room sink but individual bathroom floor to ceiling stalls. The entrance is kinda well hidden but theres a sign that clearly says where it is. I wish there were razor clams, and fried shaved artichokes when they are in season, thats what I liked most in Spain. I'd come back to try more of the tapas. I'd probably go for the crab croquetas, La Gambas, and chicken kebab.

Known for their paellas, Teleferic Barcelona quietly soft opened earlier this week in the northwest section of the Westfield UTC Mall on the upper level. They currently serve dinner only beginning at 4 pm. As of July 10th, lunch hour will start at 11 am. You can make a reservation on OpenTable as there are plenty of slots. Indoor and outdoor seating were available along with spots at a central bar. I would guess the capacity was around 100 which was smaller than I had anticipated for this Spanish upscale chain restaurant. We sat at a two-top table inside and across from the bar. The decor had some ceiling fixtures that gave off a Spanish vibe. Lots of natural lighting pored through the windows to enhance the ambiance. The two-sided menu had food listed on one page and drinks on the other page. Tapas, greens, paellas, and main plates made up the food categories. Cocktails, mocktails, gin & tonics, and sangria were the drink categories. A paella takes around 20-30 minutes to freshly prepare so we immediately placed an order for the Paella Mixta to allow the kitchen to start making the item. I did purchase a mocktail which was the Lychee's & Cream. The ingredients in the drink were lychee juice, raspberries, honey, kaffir yogurt, and lime. There was a lot of crushed ice included. The lychee and lime flavors stood out the most in this blend. Fourteen kinds of tapas were offered so we chose two of them to share and begin the meal. The Tuna Tacos and the Gambas al Ajillo were our selections. Marinated ahi tuna and mashed avocado were the filling inside a wonton shell shaped as a taco. There were three pieces, and I found them to be plain with no spiciness to them. The second tapas were five garlic-infused prawns in olive oil and lemon threads. The first piece I tried was overcooked as the meat was chewy. The other two prawns were poached to the right degree. The Paella Mixta was made up of pork belly, chicken, gulf shrimp, and piquillo peppers that was served with short-grained bomba rice. The serving vessel was a large, shallow cast iron pan which made for a nice presentation. The shrimp were cooked more consistently in this dish. The pork belly was fatty and moist and expected. I liked the texture contrast from the mild red peppers. The service was prompt and efficient. Our water glasses were refilled periodically without us even asking. The main waitress didn't have all of the immediate answers to our questions, but she followed up promptly after consulting with other staff members. Overall, I gave our dinner at Teleferic Barcelona a four star rating.

This spot, Teleferic, is the perfect addition to UTC. The bartender Julio took care of us perfectly the entire time, even when he was bombarded w/drinks at the bar. Extensive knowledge of wine and craft cocktails. Had/made amazing Mezcal cocktail suggestions, & got me a glass of Pazo de Bruxas wine (I wanted an orange wine & this was the closest to it & tasted like heaven). Tapas are Spanish-inspired & actually very filling. The albondigas were my fave, along w/the burrata & fresh bread. For Dessert: Torrija -- caramelized toast, creme brûlée, passion fruit and ice cream. TO DIE FOR. You just have to experiment with whatever you choose and find what you like. There is something for everyone! So many unique flavors. We will come back to try the squid ink paella. It's really lovely to have a Spanish place in the area. Feels rare! All of the staff and management were extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. We will be back and will be inviting people! :)

Absolutely loved Telefèric Barcelona! We came around 3:30 and sat on the gorgeous sun drenched and breezy patio. The drinks were tasty, very light refreshing and the presentation was beautiful. The food was delicious, some dishes are more modern than traditional like the Gambas al Ajillo, it was amazing with huge prawns, just different from the classic version I had in Spain. We liked it so much though that we ordered another one! The croquetas were perfectly crispy, the patatas bravas were crunchy outside and creamy in the center, the salmon tartare was excellent, and the paella mixta was delicious. Can't wait to come back and try the seafood paella with scallops!

Everything was amazing there. Our server Natalie was super sweet. Our food came out pretty quick. Recommend ordering the pallea right when you sit down since it takes about 30 mins for it to come. All the tapas were so good favorite has to be the waygu empanada and the patas bravas. The paella there is a must too and the sangria is good. Honestly feels like I am back in Barcelona again. Highly recommend.

I have been waiting for this new spot to open and was excited to learn they were in their soft opening phase this weekend. The ambiance is beautiful, i love the dark green tile they use throughout. We got seated at a two top on their outdoor terrace area. Service was great from start to finish we had one main server but they definitely work as a team and everyone checks in on the tables. Our server started with the history of the restaurant and walked us through the menu. For drinks we did the mojito with mango and the white sparkling sangria. Both were very delicious and refreshing. The mojito came with dry ice so it was bubbling and smoking which was fun. For tapas we did the pan con tomate, tuna tacos, and salmon tartare. We really enjoyed the bread and the chorizo butter that was served with it. Out of the tuna and the salmon, the tuna was my favorite, but my boyfriend enjoyed the salmon more. For the main we went with the paella mixta. This is where the experience fell a bit short for us. The chicken and the pork were both pretty dry and overcooked. The large shrimp just weren't my personal preference as they were not deveined, but i know that can be the norm when served/presented whole. The rice was also a bit overcooked but the flavor was great. I will definitely come back here but probably just for drinks and tapas. Overall, my experience was great especially considering they literally just opened. They were organized and the staff is already very knowledgeable.

We came here on July 4th, still during their soft opening so open table reservations were still easily available. Upon first impressions, the decor was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were about 20 minutes early and they were able to accommodate us and sat inside. We ordered the pan con tomate and the paella mixta. The pan con tomate was great, came with 4 pieces. The paella was a good sizes (didn't get a picture but it looks like the others already pictured here). It can serve maybe 3 people, we were 2 and had some leftover. Will definitely be back.

I visited Telefèric on the 4th of July during their soft opening. They claim to serve authentic Spanish tapas and paellas. In a sense, it is true, it reminded me some restaurants in Barcelona specialized for foreign tourists. Do not take me wrong, for US, excellent, but light-years away from the real deal. There's a lot of room for improvement. Service was superb. Ambiance felt genuine. For the tapas, the jamón ibérico and ham croquetas were good, the pan con tomate was average, but the pulpo was too tough and the patatas bravas were too soft and not spicy enough for me. As for the paellas, the rice was slightly overcooked in both. The paella negra was alright, though the broccolini felt out of place. We had a selfish allergic in our table so we also ordered the paella de ibéricos: no comment, avoid.

I have been a all the Bay Area Telefèric restaurants and the original one in Barcelona too. This one is in the amazing UTC mall and has such a beautiful vibe to it! The Grand Opening was simply amazing, plenty of non stop tapas were served, from oysters, to jamón, from croquettes to delicious chicken skewers, I tried them all. Including one of the paellas although I missed the black one. The regular paella tasted so good and it was so nice to see it cooking love. The sangria was strong and so delicious. The flamenco dancing ensemble super. Love how friendly and personably was the dancer. They were coming from Dana Point and she is from Valencia in Spain. There were dancers, there was a DJ, there was a lot of people too but food for all! Kudos to the guy cutting the jamon. Not an easy job and he was so cheerful. Thanks so much for the amazing grand opening and I am already a loyal customer.

I went to the opening night event for Teleferic Barcelona & it was a very fun evening! The entrance was very pretty with a large table of rosé & champagne and a gentlemen slicing iberico ham which was amazing! Inside was gorgeous the decor is modern but tropical feeling & the bar in the center of the restaurant was amazing with many different sangrias & cocktails to try, I had a carrot margarita that was surprisingly delicious & the traditional sangria was great as well. The servers walked by with multiple tapas bites to try we had a braised beef empanada, a chicken skewer with hummus, oysters, a skewer with pepperoncinis olive & a sardine, chorizo bites topped with Brie & caramelized obsidian & a ham & cheese croquette toppers with ham that was my absolute favorite of the night! The event had a very pretty outdoor side area where they served two different style of paellas which I believe is what they are known for and they were both very good! At the entrance they have a shop with a different variety of pastas, wines, snacks & merch for purchase and they even have mini refrigerators with deli meats & cheeses available. Overall it was a fun day filled with good food & folklorico dancing & music. I will definitely be back to try other options on the menu soon.

The Burrata dish, and my beautiful wifey.

My husband and I just finished our dinner at Teleferic Barcelona when I suggested we give Raised by Wolves another try - as we had about an hour before picking up the kids. For a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised that as walk-ups we only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated at the bar inside. While we waited, we enjoyed perusing their bottle selections for purchase and I'm happy to say that playing music slightly louder in the waiting/market area helped dull the sounds from the inside bar. It helps create more of a 'moment' when you sit at the fireplace and slowly turn inside. This time we were seated right at the bar, which was perfect for us. Chuck was our bartender and 10/10 on the cocktails he made. This time, I went with their Tiki Room and my husband an off-menu Boulevardier (which I have to say I'm impressed he knew what that was because even I didn't, lol). Both drinks were perfectly crafted and enjoyed by both of us. We only had a moment for just one drink this time, but I have to say our experience was so much better than our first (perhaps a fluke of an evening). The staff were all welcoming and knowledgable, other guests were dressed well, and the ambiance lent itself to the vibe we were looking for. After doing some homework, I made the connection that Raised By Wolves was part of the hospitality group that also owns Lafayette Hotel, The Baby Grand, Ironside, etc...all locations my husband and I absolutely adore. Happy to support such amazing places around San Diego and I look forward to more!

The spirit free drinks were surprisingly expensive, with some being $14. My server, Tony, was helpful and the food came out relatively quickly. However, everyone seemed to disappear toward the end of my meal. *Lilac Fizz: a refreshing combination of lavender, lemon, and soda. This was bright and tart, although the lavender was subtle. A bit more lavender syrup would have made it feel more spring esque. *Skirt Steak Chimichurri: came with a side of broccolini and either fingerling potatoes or fries. Tony recommended the fries, and they came with a side of kalamata aioli. The fries were a tad limp but salted well. The broccolini was a bit underdone, but similarly salty. The most notable flavor came from the kalamata aioli, with pronounced acidity. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. It was juicy and pink throughout. However, it was very bland. The chimichurri tasted like almost nothing, which was a shame given that the skirt steak itself wasn't seasoned much at all. My companion ordered the salad and while the greens were piled high, the roasted chicken was skimped on despite being $21. Overall, the flavors needed to be more concentrated and distinct. Especially for the higher prices, I expected better ingredient quality. I guess it isn't a bad place to eat if you're shopping on the top floor of Nordstrom, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here when there are better options at UTC.

It was good; however, it would have been better with some sort of sauce to reinforce the jerk flavors. Their crab bisque had large chunks of lump crab meat and nice tomato and seafood flavors in the broth. Food is okay and pricey (3 stars per yelp's scale); however, there isn't long waits and service is good. It did the job.

All the employees working Friday late afternoon who tend the left corner in the front - kudos! We stuck to the cans because we went for happy hour. During happy hour cans are only $5 and their Ssignature cocktail drinks are only $10 instead of $15. Their Happy Hour appetizer menu is great too. The bulgogi loaded fries are sweet with some heat from the aioli. I do wish the meat were chunks like the original bulgogi instead of slow cooked braised beef that's shredded up. I would also ask for the sauce on the side because it can be a bit much if they put too much. The bbq pork sliders were yummy. The bread was soft, the meat had a subtle sweetness, and the coleslaw added a nice bright freshness to the heaviness of the meat. I only wish there was more slaw on them. The habanero buffalo wings were some of the best wings I've have. They were crispy, the meat was seasoned and not just sauce, and the buffalo sauce was chefs kiss. They are spicy so if you don't do spice definitely get another flavor. If you love visiting breweries or just want to try a new place out you have to come to Cutwater. It's amazing and I can't wait to go again

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 I've always been curious about this restaurant so we decided to pop in this past weekend for brunch. It was a chilly day and all of the seating is outdoors/patio, so dress accordingly. There weren't any open tables for 2, so we sat at the busy end of the bar where they were washing dishes and coming in and out. Not my favorite, but I was starving and not willing to wait. We ordered the croissant sandwich and Wagyu smash burger. 100% recommend the burger. It was juicy, packed with flavor, and so good with the onions and sauce. I'd pass on the croissant sandwich. Seems like a good place for drinks though if you want to relax after some power shopping.

I had been wanting to try Queenstown Bistro for a long time, so I was excited to finally visit…read more Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The service was lacking from the start. Our server was very short with us and not particularly friendly or welcoming. After taking our order, it took quite a while for our drinks to arrive. The food was just average. The burgers were okay, but honestly, I've had better burgers from fast-food restaurants. My son requested several customizations to his burger, and the kitchen got all of them wrong. When our meals were brought to the table, the staff left without providing any silverware, so we had to track someone down and ask for it ourselves. Overall, between the poor service, order mistakes, and underwhelming food, this visit did not meet expectations. We won't be back!

The staff who led the way seemed to have a really bad day, cold tone and no facial expression when asked politely to switch to a mini booth instead a four ppl table. And he was able to accommodate . Then there comes Hannah, she is very sweet, friendly and easy to talk to. Her smiles and just right check-ins, totally work 5 stars service. Unfortunately the dishes were not impressive as the service, big failure is the Tuscan white bean soup, too salty to swallow, the ahi tuna tartar is good but seasoning was a little plain. And the sea bass tastes fresh, but the flavor is boring -- tasted like something easily comes out from home. When Hannah noticed that I didn't drink much of the soup, she asked me about it. And she even went to her manager to take that off my bill without asking or complaining. .... Great mental values I got from her during this meal. Overall Hannah's service is FiVe , and food taste 3 stars . So overall total 4 stars . The restaurant is big , fits for small and big parties.

Date Night Done Right at Season 52!…read more My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous date night at Season 52, and it exceeded our expectations! A special shout-out to Victoria, our waitress, who served up outstanding customer service from start to finish. She kept our drinks flowing, checked on us often, and made our evening feel extra special with her warm smile and attention to detail. We started with the Shrimp & Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and a bowl of Lobster Bisque--both were flavorful, fresh, and absolutely delicious! For my entrée, I ordered the 8 oz. wood-grilled Filet Mignon with a lobster tail, potatoes, asparagus, and warm butter for dipping. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. My husband enjoyed the caramelized glazed scallops with a filet mignon, Yukon mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Another winner! The biggest surprise? The value! At around $55 per entrée, we felt the portions, quality, and presentation were exceptional. Steak, lobster, and scallops at that price point made this meal a fantastic value. Bonus: Plenty of parking at UTC, and Season 52 validates your parking ticket! If you're looking for a romantic date night, delicious food, and outstanding service, head over to Season 52 and ask for Victoria. She'll make sure your experience is just as memorable as ours. We left as very happy customers and can't wait to return with our family and friends! Happy Customers, Laura & Mike Songer
