We had our father's post burial luncheon reception at Posto 22. Not only was the food sensational, but the service was stellar! We had approximately 40 people and were provided a back private area. Our request for a couple of extra tables to lay out family photos and access to large TV to run a slide show was ready for us upon arrival! We had a few speeches given and the staff was extremely respectful during these times. They continually checked in to make sure we were all taken care of. From the booking, to the menu selection, pre-event finalizations, day of event, and closeout was seamless, professional, accommodating, and just very well managed! Impromptu Saturday lunch. This could wind up as five stars -- we plan to return and explore the other offerings. When you sit down, a bread basket arrives with a ciabatta roll and some focaccia. Do not sit on this - the bread's warm and delicious. There's an herb infused olive oil for dipping. We shared an eggplant rollatini app as an appetizer. Try the same - the portion is entree sized, perfectly fried, and loaded with cheese. Too much as an app for 1, as you'll want to dip any remaining bread in the marinara. La Portena, eschewing carbs, went with a spinach Florentine. Three nice paillards over garlicky sauteed spinach with a rich white sauce. This was a generous and flavorful dish. In lieu of pasta, she chose a mixed veg with sauteed string beans, carrots and potatoes - it sounds mundane but it was well cooked and seasoned --actually quite good. I plumped for a special listed as "fresh spaghetti with white bolognese." I would say it was about half way there - the fresh pasta was tender and the sauce was close to what you get in Bologna, but still a little more tomatoey than the real thing. There was cheese in it already, but I would have liked a little more grated on tableside --which was not offered. (there's a container of grated cheese on the table) I had to flag down a busboy to get fresh pepper. We had glasses of the Riesling and the Sauvignon Blanc and both were on point. Love everything! Very happy with the food, the drinks (we love the raspberry lemonade) and the service by Bryan and the other guys was totally off the charts! I ordered the Halibut and it delicious! moist and well cooked. I don't really like fish with any sauce BUT whatever sauce they put in, I loved it! If you're planning on going on a Saturday I recommend to make a reservation days before, because the place is busy and sometimes people reserve a whole room for parties. I have ordered from this place before but this was my first time going to the restaurant. It did not disappoint. I went early, during lunch time, which was nice because there were no crowds. Decided to try the watermelon sangria and a few appetizers. The sangria was so refreshing! Now as for the appetizers, I was happy with what I ordered. The rice balls were so good and great size, also ordered the mini meatballs (pork, veal, and beef) and finally the bacon wrapped scallops with a honey sriracha sauce. We were in the process of moving and had many long nights trying to tie up loose ends. On one of those nights, hubby and I were heading back home pretty late and knew we needed to grab some takeout for dinner. We've eaten at this restaurant for Downtown NewRo, and enjoyed our meal and the service so, I decided to give them a try. We ordered on the drive there and were a bit disappointed that the wait was going to be 30-45 minutes but decided, it would be better to have a meal here instead of a drive thru. Also, they have Arnold Palmers, so that was a sign to go ahead with our order. Parking on that street can be difficult to come by, but there is a garage across the street as well; honestly, if you're just picking something up I would suggest just double-parking and calling the restaurant to make sure your food is ready so you can just pop in and grab it (beware, though, because the traffic cops are beasts out there). Since we were going to be a while, I asked hubby to go inside and also order us some dranks to take with, and hopefully the food wod be ready by the time he received the drinks. We still had to wait approximately 25 minutes longer. I am so happy he went in for those drinks when he did, because our food was actually ready! We didn't have to wait any longer and everything was packed up really well. They secured all of the drinks to ensure they didn't spill, which I greatly appreciated. The food is kind of pricey but we were starved and it definitely hit the spot. Hubby had a chicken parm sando, my son had their la frieda burger, I had the lasagne and broccoli, we shared some arancini and cannolis. The drinks were on point and we had leftovers for the next night, so you can't beat that. Now that we're closer to this location, they may become part of our regular rotation. read more

Just celebrated my Dad's 85th birthday here last weekend. My mother secured the back room for a small private party and it was fabulous! Not only is the food delicious and consistent, there was an abundance of it and everything came out in a timely fashion. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The ambiance is lovely and low-key. It's also great for lunch or dinner, and they're always hosting specials depending on the day of the week or for various holidays.
