I recently moved to the area and gave Valentina's multiple chances, hoping to support a local spot. Unfortunately, each visit was met with cold service, and on my last visit, the owner was outright rude -- unprovoked and unnecessarily dismissive. I was genuinely shocked by the attitude, especially as someone who had been coming in regularly and spending money there. You'd expect a local business to appreciate new customers, but instead, I was made to feel like an inconvenience. There are too many great places around to tolerate that kind of treatment. I won't be back -- and I wouldn't recommend Valentina's to anyone who values basic courtesy. Not to mention the food is subpar. read more

The service at this place is overwhelmingly friendly. We had a wonderful dinner here. I enjoyed the vodka sauce on penne and the broccoli rabe side dish. The service is great- very attentive and friendly. The food was good. Can't say anything truly bad. One member of our group had veal parm; another member had chicken martini. Both looked tasty and plated nicely. Two of us had pasta with broccoli rabe. Tasty BUT many of the rigatoni were broken so not a good sign. The spedini was not the usual. Didn't care for it. Looked liked it was in brown gravy. The host or owner was very friendly BUT he kept coming over to tell jokes and show a card trick. A little over the top. We ate upstairs which was ok. Sort of had a club feel to it as it had strip lights around the room. The worst thing was we were charged for ice. A member of our party had a couple scotch on the rocks AND THERE WAS AN ICE CHARGE ON THE BILL. read more

This is our third meal at the best kept secret in Mt. Vernon. Our meal was superb. Chef was exceedingly accommodating of my celiac and prepared a GF boneless chicken scarpariello. The best I have had in quite some time. My wife got pan seared scallops with a light blackened seasoning that the Chef also adjusted to her taste. Normally, I have a good experience dining at this restaurant. The food is good. The cocktails are acceptable, and the ambience of the local crowd is lively. But today not so much. My friend and I dined, she got sick and vomited outside, and had to rush to pay the bill and leave. We let the manager know that he needed to check the kitchen, but instead of saying, he would do that right away, he suggested that my friend might be intoxicated. That wasn't the case, but the suggestion threw us off a bit. He apologized, but I know that she will not go back after being insulted knowing that something in the restaurant most likely caused her to be sick. The food could've been tainted or maybe someone didn't wash their hands. We don't know. But to suggest intoxication, was unprofessional, an insult, and unnecessary. read more

Went last night for my grandmother's 80th birthday and the food was bland. I had the chicken Alfredo and it upset my stomach. 30 mins after I barfed up my meal. The waitress was nice at first but she was spotted taking a pic of us and sending it to someone and laughing. The bar staff was friendly and the older gentleman who helped my grandmother up and down the stairs was very sweet. The dessert was disappointing as well overall I expected way more from this place because it was so highly recommended to us. The last straw for me was when we were all saying goodbye outside an older white woman who was wearing a staff t shirt started blowing all the leaves on the side walk right on us. I had heels on and my feet got very dirty and I said wth is going on and she said this and kept blowing the leaves at me. That's unacceptable! read more

Amazing new Italian restaurant in Westchester! Incredible food with HUGE generous portions. Ambience is beautiful, exposed brick, romantic lighting, staff is friendly and makes you feel like family. Onto the food: We were 4 people: We ordered 3 appetizers: Portobello mushroom stuffed with crab which was delicious, Burrata (served with fig jam, toasted bread with crisp prosciutto, and arugula with peppers), and the garlic bread ala casa (a fusion of garlic bread, bruschetta with potato croquette). All amazing. And each appetizer was big enough to share (between 4 of us!) Dinner menu has a lot of variety- and has all the classic options. The specials offered that night were also amazing. Our table ordered: the veal special (which was almost the size of the whole table), penne al forno, lobster ravioli with shrimp and pasta primavera. All were tasty, and everyone was so full but had more than half their plate leftover to take home. We were really too full for dessert, but were tempted to try the chocolate ravioli (stuffed with nutella) and the brownie with cannoli cream. No regrets- it was perfect. Wine selection was beautiful. We topped off with limoncello which was very good quality. We will definitely be coming back again!!! We were told they do take out (Uber eats) and they have room upstairs for a party! read more

The restaurant I've been hearing about since I moved here and never got to try, is back?! Oh my darlings, it's true! And the legend is factual. And it's prettier than ever. Nice modern decor and LED backlighting that's typically blue but can turn pink and other colors. Frankie is a very hospitable owner. He welcomes you with open arms and the minute you walk in, you feel like your his family! Paul is an amazing chef and shares the same hospitality values as Frankie making them a fierce duo. You won't be disappointed at all. And definately come hungry. True to the Italian culture, you won't leave looking for more! I've been living in Fleetwood for over three years and last night (Saturday) was the first time I ventured into Gina Marie's. I am so glad I did! My boyfriend and I ordered takeout, penne with garlic, olive oil and broccoli rabe, fried calamari, and penne a la vodka with chicken parm cutlets. The bf loves loves loves vodka sauce so he's the perfect vodka sauce judge, and he really enjoyed Gina Marie's. I had a few bites of his chicken...it was delicious! The calamari was also very tasty and fresh. The marinara sauce on the side...I could drink it. It had large pieces of garlic and tomatoes. My penne with broccoli rabe was pretty standard, but it did come in an extra large portion :) I'll definitely be back for more. Had an EXCELLENT dinner at Valentina's tonight. We started with tortellini in brodo and stracciatella soup. Both served nice and hot and the broth was perfectly seasoned. Our entrees were perfection! My husband ordered the veal parmigiana. The veal was tender in a tasty red sauce accompanied by a crispy potato croquette. I ordered chicken martini - chicken coated in Parmesan cheese in a dry vermouth and white wine sauce that was without a doubt the best chicken dish I've ordered at a restaurant! Tender chicken seasoned perfectly surrounded in the most delicious sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. We finished our amazing meal with an espresso martini, chocolate mousse cake made in house and tartufo. The service was impeccable despite being extremely busy on Valentine's Day. The owner stopped by our table more than once to check in. On a side note, I have celiac disease and all my courses were prepared gluten free. We will definitely be back to Valentina's! read more

The experience at Gina Marie's was one to remember. To start, the space is beautifully decorated and modern. Second, the staff is beyond friendly. My boyfriend and I came after I ran a half marathon earlier that day. Being indecisive and hungry, the staff was friendly and patient and offered recommendations. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. It was a gigantic portion and very flavorful. I didn't have pasta, but the potato croquette was satisfying. For dessert, you have to try the brownie with the cannoli cream! In short, it is OVER PRICED Italian Food w/ SMALL portions. The food is simply AVERAGE in flavor (at best) and bland (at its worst). Details Below: My family ordered this for xmas eve dinner 2018. The seafood dishes shrimp were small in size, the calamarie was the SMALLEST I ever have seen in my life (note: there were only rings, no tentacles). The shells of the muscles&clams take up the majority of the portion besides the lack luster pasta. There is way too much pasta water added. A lack of garlic and oil was used despite our request that it be used. The shrimp oreganata had larger shrimp then the previous seafood dish but the shrimp were in shells & were harder to pull out then you would like. They only provided a few of these shrimp too and that is in a shrimp dish that gave NO other food besides a squash vegetable/pasta w/ ok tasting red sauce. Salad was not included and very little bread was given. We also ordered the bruscetta as an app which literally had ONLY 4x pieces of bread (that had herbs on it yet no real flavor). The tomatoes/mozzarella were average. It was served over some sort of diced egg plant dish that was nothing to write home about. The BEST part of this meal was the potatoe croquets we ordered on the side...Great texture/flavor...but when the best part of your expensive Italian meal is the potatoe then something is wrong w/ the establishment. We spent most of the meal discussing how disappointed we all were with this establishment. 2 stars out of 5. read more
