One of oldest best friend and his darling wife invited us to this tiny little gem in the middle of a boat yard in New Rochelle . Wow we were so impress how cute this place was. So airy and light on the second floor over looking the marina. Greeted and taken care of by Richardo who only smiled and gave us anything we asked for. Started out with clams casino and I love how the clams are all chopped up so easy to eat and they were cooked perfectly. Always have to order the eggplant was nice and solid with a homemade ricotta inside. Me and my buddy ordered the stuffed veal chop that melted in your mouth and so crispy outside and moist and tender inside. Also ordered stuff shells and broccoli rabe and sausage with cavatelli dish was fire nice and soupy but not over done. Unlimited parking they actually had entertainment when we were leaving very cute little piece of heaven in middle of a boat yard Great dinner with great friends that's what it's all about.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

I started with the tamarind margarita. The tamarind flavor was a bit subtle and the drink was on the sweeter side, but it was pretty good. I also tried the passionfruit mojito, which was a little more tangy and strong. My husband enjoyed the strawberry mojito and tom collins. To eat, I had the burrata avocado toast. It was a great portion size, with two large pieces of toast. However, the flavor was a bit bland. My husband was happy with the chorizo omelette, which was also quite large. The decor is tasteful and they have digital menus on tablets. They also have a nice outdoor seating section. Perfect for date night (or day!)

On a beautiful afternoon, we decided to grab a table on the patio, and it was the perfect choice. The outdoor seating created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy brunch. The restaurant itself has a modern, stylish aesthetic that feels elevated without being pretentious. From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and struck that perfect balance of checking in without ever making us feel rushed. Now, let's talk about the food. The Tres Leches French Toast completely exceeded my expectations. I've had plenty of French toast over the years, but this one stood out. It was incredibly soft and fluffy with beautifully crisp edges, creating that perfect contrast in texture. The tres leches flavor was rich enough that it genuinely didn't need syrup--a rare compliment for French toast. Every bite was indulgent without feeling overly sweet. Paired with the perfectly cooked apple-smoked bacon and a bowl of fresh fruit, it was one of the better brunch plates I've had in quite some time. I also ordered the strawberry mimosa, which was bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It was the perfect companion to brunch. We couldn't leave without trying the Chicken Burrata Sandwich, and I'm so glad we did. The burrata was fresh and creamy, the chicken was juicy, and the spicy sauce added just enough heat to keep every bite interesting without overpowering the sandwich. Then there was the bun--soft, fresh, and sturdy enough to hold everything together. It tied the entire sandwich together beautifully. The fries deserve their own mention. Golden brown, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--exactly how fries should be. Between the beautiful setting, genuinely attentive service, and food that delivered across the board, 179 Bar & Grill earned every one of these five stars. It's the kind of place that's just as good for a casual brunch as it would be for bringing friends or celebrating a special occasion. I'll absolutely be back--and next time, I'm already planning to explore more of the menu.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and clean, with nice music playing in the background that really set the mood for a relaxing brunch. The staff and service were excellent everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. The drinks from the bar were honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. The bartender definitely did not skimp on the liquor, and the drink was perfectly made. For brunch, I ordered the omelet with jerk shrimp and it was absolutely delicious flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the catfish and she loved it as well. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. She also ordered dessert and really enjoyed it. Toward the end of our meal, Alvin, the owner, came over to our table and introduced himself, which was such a nice personal touch and made the experience even more special. Before leaving, I even ordered food to take home because the meal was that good. Overall, this restaurant was an excellent choice. Great food, great drinks, great service, and a great atmosphere. The busboy brought filled water glasses and made sure the he filled our water glasses. When the food server brought my dish I knew I was in trouble. My overly cooked hamburger was siting on a bun. I enjoyed dipping my French fries in the ketchup and mayo and followed suit with my overly cooked hamburger. You guessed it. My ice tea was never refilled because I never saw the waiter again until he brought the check. I have been coming to this location when it was originally a stand alone building and named the College Diner. I was a customer for years and when it became the Mirage Diner I continued to patronize it. When the Mirage owners sold the property to Iona and built the existing building I was very happy to see a restaurant being built on the ground floor. It is called The Mirage. I think it has changed ownership several times because we tend to see different managers and staff. I am a very disappointed Sal E. New Rochelle. I deleted all their pictures that I had on file.
