Tuesdays are the worst days. You don't have the weekend restful feeling going, you still have over half the work week left. You're dragging a bit. You walk outside for some fresh air and BOOM. POSTO MOBILE IN DEWEY SQUARE TUESDAYS ALL WINTER. Tuesday REDEEMED. When this truck is parked it is by far the best pizza on offer in the downtown area. The crust is delicious, salty and gorgeous. I love the goopy tomato sauce fired to perfection. They cut it into slices to appease the takeout crowd that frequents the food truck, but be warned the center is generally that somewhat messily neopolitan authentic middle. I have tasted the meat options and love the basic pepperoni. The truck also offers a pasta (haven't tried it), sparking waters, and desserts. Do yourself a favor and get a tiramisu. JUST DO IT. It is $5 and can feed two people or you know, just yourself because yolo.

I'm weary of pizza food trucks. Are all the pizzas already pre made and then just reheated? Not with this one! Posto mobile food truck has people rolling out dough tossing up dough right in front of you. They have an insane amount of variety for a food truck. I think I saw at least 8 assortments of pizza? You can also get pasta, salad and a few desserts. I got the mushroom and spinach pizza. Came to around 10 dollars so a little pricy for a food truck, however it's a pretty good size. If it was a restaurant that I had gone to and gotten the same thing I would have thought it was an appropriate size. The pizza came out freakishly fast too. Something like 4 minutes. So does it taste like food truck pizza? No! There's care and love put into this pizza. It tasted so delicious. I like my crust a little more crusty, came out a little chewier than I would have liked. Easy fix, just ask them to leave it in the fire oven for another 10 seconds. I can't believe I'm giving a food truck a 5 but if you had rolled into a room with this pizza I would have assumed you got it delivered from their restaurant. It's that good. Glad to have a good pizza place available to BUMC people.

    Tomato basil pizza

I used to live near Tufts and loved going to Posto in Davis Square so when I saw their food truck was at BUMC I ditched my leftovers and headed right over. I got the tomato basil pizza because I think you can tell a lot by how a place treats it's basics. It was DELICIOUS. The crust had a little bit of char, which I love, and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. The person taking orders was very friendly and the pizza was out in under 5 minutes. Pizza and a sparkling water cost $10 and it was worth it for the quality and size of the pizza. I have a feeling I'll be fighting the Monday Blues with a lot of pizza in the future, and I'm not mad about it.

Half pepperoni, half sausage and peppers. All pizzas are individual sized.

I decided to go with the Wicked Pesto Pizza. It came with the signature crust, pesto base, grilled chicken, blue cheese, asiago, and fresh garlic. The driver dropped it off in front of the building and I picked it up. After first trying it, I was not impressed. It was very hard and dry. I had to reheat it in the microwave for it to be edible. I was expecting a delicious pizza packed with flavor. Instead I got something that I had to force myself to eat. I know Boston is not known for their pizza but I was expecting something halfway decent. If it was not for the Uber Eats discount I would have been upset with spending the cash. Next time I will try to check out some other spots for a slice of pizza.

Just a few blocks from Boston Common and the Public Garden, it is a perfect stop for a casual lunch or snack. This is my go-to spot when I want a quick, high-quality slice in the area.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

We had the meat lover's pie and oh my. Wgat a delicious fusion animals, cheese, tomatoes and crust. The taste took me back to a pizza I had many years ago at a place in Cambridge--in a great way! They only sell whole pies, which at first seemed annoying (the first time I tried coming here a few years ago I was by myself and couldn't eat a whole pizza alone) so I had to make this my inaugural tasting). But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.
