Tacos are $4 a pop which is steep, getting a burrito/torta/plate is more bang for your buck. Ordered the carnitas burrito, no beans (they only had black beans). The burrito was a good size for lunch, but if you're a big eater, you'll probably need a side (not as big as a chipotle burrito but much tastier). the food is slightly below par with the brick and mortar establishments but that is expected. i charged my torta to my credit card, usually they give you the portable machine for you to add a tip, sign it, and add your email for receipt if you like. this option was offered to the previous person in front of me. this option was not offered to me. i never saw the machine. later on i see my receipt online and i find that there's a tip that they added for themselves. Hopefully, I picked the right place. I'm commenting on the trailer that is often in Dewey Square. Short review: fantastic. I have not yet had anything that wasn't served hot, wonderfully cooked and constructed, seasoned well, and reasonably priced. All of it. That said, two caveats...... First, cash only. Bring your bucks or no comidas. Second, get there before the lunch rush. The line can get VERY backed up. Most of it is popularity, the rest is just poor flow in the trailer. Tried the Tenoch food truck for the first time today when they came to BU East - it did not disappoint!! There was a bit of a line (before they even opened up) but the line moved quickly and it was worth the wait. I ordered the Pescado Torta - but was torn because all of the options looked SO good! The torta was HUGE and very filling. The bread had the perfect crunch to it without being too hard to chew. The fillings were fresh, and the chipotle mayo was great! Unbelievably good. Easily the best mexican I've had in Boston. I got the chicharron taco and the chorizo sausage taco. Both were wonderfully flavorful, full of avacado and moist, well-seasoned meat, with lime on the side for a nice tang. I was also given a spicy sauce which I didn't have much of since it was so apocalyptic, but again, it had flavor. Last week I had the al pastor Enchilada, which came with a very light but very pleasant bit of mango inside that I loved. The balance of flavor was perfect. The fish taco is absolutely fantastic. Hands down the best food truck in Boston. I've had this multiple times; the first time was at SOWA on opening day in 2015, which I waited an insanely long amount of time in line (practically an hour) since there were only 2 guys in the truck to take orders and make the food. It was well worth the wait though. I got the Torta Campechana, which has chorizo and carnitas (pork) in between their Telera bread and stuffed with beans, chipotle mayo, avocado, tomatoes, Oaxaca, cheese, onions, and chipotle. I've heard great things about this, and it didn't disappoint. Each bite was a mouthful of amazing flavor; I personally hate mayo but the mayo they used in this was great (flavored with something). The meat was tender and juicy and the sauces soaked into the bread a little, which made it better. The second time was at HubSpot's INBOUND 2016 conference, where I had a free meal ticket for attending. They only had 2 options this time, so I opted for the adodaba, which was pork with adobo sauce, lettuce and the same toppings as before. It also came with chips drizzled with a little bit of that chipotle sauce. This was almost as good as the campechana. Honestly, if I weren't gluten free now I would try every single one of their tortas - they're the best I've had, and I'm from SoCal, where there's authentic Mexican food aplenty. This is authentic, flavorful, and satisfying, without being overly rich, heavy, or greasy. 100% recommend. I'd also 100% go to their restaurant for tacos, which I haven't gotten around to yet (unfortunately). read more

Hm, I think people are getting this spot confused with their brick and mortar spots. Anyway, I was in line for this truck one day at PAX East when a bunch of trucks were congregated outside the convention center. As I stood in line, I kept smelling something delicious. Almost ambrosia-like. But I wasn't sure what truck it was coming from, and I didn't want to lose my place in line. Yes, it was Tenoch. I had made the right choice without even knowing it. I happily got the carnitas torta and walked back into the center. The first thing I noticed was that it was almost oozing cheese. I've had lots of tortas in Chicago, but this may be my favorite. Besides the cheese was the pork inside was flavorful and it has just the right amount of other toppings inside. I only wish there was a bit more, but it was light years ahead of anything being served inside the convention center. I didn't have the chance to visit their B&M spot, but next time I come to Boston I will make it a priority. Great stuff. read more

HELL YES! I love these guys. Their Campechana will make you weep. Really, anything and everything is good but I of course have my favorites. This is fast food so the bread may not be cooked up as crisp as it is in their restaurant locations but damn its tasty. Very much looking forward to added items (tamales, enchiladas, etc.). I highly recommend visiting one of their restaurant locations, either in Medford or the North End. It's worth the trip. Tenoch has the best Mexican food I've had on the east coast. Tenoch is one of my favorite food trucks in Boston. They remind me so much of the Mexican places from home, where its very casual and run almost like a kitchen in your family home. I find service to be fast, prices to be reasonable, and the food to be great. If you haven't had a good torta (for the laypeople: a mexican panini), this is a great place to try one. The chorizo torta is my absolute favorite, and is definitely big enough to share. I love that they do payment on an honor system and that it appears the customers respect that. The cash drawer was literally on the ledge for me to pay and make my own change. I've never seen that before. I'm going to enjoy them regularly being near DTX for as long as I can. read more

How have there not been more reviews? This little food "truck" is awesome. Really good Mexican food that tastes fresher and more authentic than most. Amazing chorizo sausage (can sell out) and mozzarella string cheese. $7 sandwiches, burritos, or plates - easy! Super friendly service too. Cash only though. Long wait from 11:45 - 1 or so on nice days, but it's well worth it and no different than the other food trucks down the greenway. Wish there were more of these, or their hitched trailer was a big truck with even more staff and food. I go whenever I can! read more

I waited in line for 30 minutes to get this so I guess my expectations were a little high. I got the campachana torta which HUGE and very flavorful, I loved the cheese which gave it the variety of flavor it needed to keep things fresh. Knocked a star off only because it was so slow and when I got to the front I found out why. The two men in the truck are not really working together like a well-oiled machine, it looks like they were each putting a sandwich together one by one, grabbing ingredients from across the truck before starting each sandwich. They also are cash only and instead of paying them, you just put your money in the tray and grab the appropriate change which seems very insecure, it's not like anyone is checking to make sure you paid and that makes the exchange kind of awkward IMO. read more

This review is ONLY for the mobile food vehicle. I hesitate to call it a truck, since it's just an open trailer with a cook top inside. It's not just hype. It's that good. They only serve tortas right now, but the (very) nice gentleman out front told me that they're looking to add tamales and other items from their B&M restaurants soon. But who needs other things when you have the tastiest sandwiches I've ever eaten? This tiny metal box has quickly become my favorite place for Mexican in the city, and my favorite lunch spot in general. Forget Chacarero. Tenoch's tortas are ridiculously satisfying flavor bombs. I've had each one and never been disappointed. The Choriqueso is my favorite, with better-than-store-bought ground Chorizo, black bean spread, and substantial Oaxaca cheese that's way better than anything that's usually melted on Mexican food on the east coast. Oh, and don't forget the picked red onion, chipotle mayo, tomato slice, avacado slices, and the soft bread that gets a nice crispness from the griddle. You can pick out the flavor of each ingredient, and every aspect is good enough to stand on its own. But together? Lord have mercy. Smokey, earthy, cheesy, spicy, fresh, smooth, rich, crispy, refreshing. It's better than the sum of its parts, but each component has room to shine. It might seem a little pricey for a food truck ($7), since the sandwiches aren't huge, but they're filling and absolutely worth it. The line can grow quickly, so get there before noon to avoid the lunch rush. It takes less than five minutes once you've ordered, so don't be afraid if there is a line: it moves fast. Can't say enough good things about this place. Best Mexican I've had in or around Boston by a wide margin. If I had to complain about something, I guess the tortas aren't always topped consistently. Sometimes you'll get more onions on one side or another, or only a few bites that have tomato on them. Or a chunk of avacado that's a little too large and overpowers the rest of your bite. I only bring it up so that this review doesn't seem blindly positive, because it hasn't really affected my enjoyment at all. Visited at SoWa on opening day. Waited over an hour in line to get my torta. Worth the wait for two reasons: 1. That damn torta campechana (telera bread with carnitas, chorizo, chipotle mayo, Oaxaca cheese, onions, avocado, beans) is delicious. Every bit as good as what I've tried at their North End location. 2. The man working in the truck remembered me from my two visits to his North End location. Over a YEAR ago. I was so pleasantly surprised, and it made me feel really valued as a customer. Worth it, for the smile it put on my face, as well as the food it put in my belly. I'll be back.
